Based on the Yelp reviews we decided to give the Comedy Magic Cabaret a try. I have to say that from the outside it definitely doesn't look like much, but once you are through the doors you are in the the most magical little venue! The ambience and decor were on point! Seating is very intimate, but we did not feel crowded at all! It was the perfect setting for this type of show. There is a small menu but the food was delicious. We had the Spinach Artichoke dip with chips and it was a perfectly sized appetizer. I also had one of the best lemon-drop martinis I've ever tasted! I was very impressed by the food and drink offerings. The waitresses were very friendly and service was efficient. The show itself was a riot. We genuinely laughed through the whole thing. There is wonderful crowd interaction, and Kerry who performed that evening kept everything so fast paced and lively. He really knows how to work a crowd. We were hooked 2 minutes into the show and stayed dialed in for the whole thing! It's a lot of clever banter and good rapport with a lot of wow! tricks along the way. Truly - so entertaining! The end of the show had us all literally gasping! The crowd skews older but there were many families there with older teens and young adults so it was a great vibe! Highly recommend! We will definitely return next year!!

We saw the "J-Lo and Friends" (Juliette Gordon Lowe) show and it was amazing! The girls had so much fun before the show learning about the puppets and their history from Angela, during the show learning even more about the founder of the Girl Scouts in a fun, interactive environment, and after when the girls got to try out some of Angela's puppets. It was so much fun watching the girls express themselves through the puppets. When asked about their favorite activity during our trip, this was definitely at the top of the list. I am so glad that we discovered this gem of a show and plan to spread the word in my area so that other troops will get the opportunity to participate and watch with Angela and her people. Thanks, Angela! You made our trip THAT much better!

We arranged with Celebrations Catering & Events to cater a nice plated dinner at our rental home. All through the planning process, Molly Kennedy was fantastic and a great help. Our family had not gathered for a number of years, and this dinner event was certainly the highlight of our week. We are very appreciative of all the staff at Celebrations Catering & Events.

Occasional Celebrations was FANTASTIC!!! Trinity's name was given to me by our reception vendor…read moresince she had coordinated several parties at our reception venue before. I was looking for someone who was familiar with the space, but we were so thrilled that we got so much more than that! I really appreciated Trinity taking the time to hear what my expectations and requests were before establishing her role as our coordinator. She was as available as she needed to be while also giving us space to make our own decisions without pressure. One of the last minute decisions was the music for the reception and unfortunately, I was lost. I explained my issue to Trinity and she delivered! Not only did she get us out of a bind, but she recommended the best band! They were a hit and everyone loved them! Other qualities of Trinity that I appreciated were her calm attitude as well as her exceptional organization skills. She was able to keep everything running smoothly and under control on our big day. She made me feel extremely comfortable by handling everything on so I didn't have to stress. I have already recommended Trinity to my friends for their weddings, and will continue to spread the word in the future. Thanks Trinity and Occasional Celebrations for helping make our day so special!

This is the place you must decide to have your next private event in the near future. Let's talk…read moreabout a beautiful historic intimate location in the heart of downtown Savannah with the charm and sophisticated architecture that an elegant event would bring. The Room at Common is top notch and believe me there is absolutely nothing common here. Let's give a moment of respect to the Executive Head Chef Shawn and his entire accompanying staff whose impeccable attention to detail in every dish that exited his kitchen demonstrated the depth and ability of everyone who had a hand in slicing, cutting, baking, and curating the most delectable dishes I have found in quite a while. You need an outlandish charcuterie board to get you in the mood to begin the eating festival. The sliders had the perfect texture and the bread was tenderly placed with a delicate sauce. The tomato basil soup in a bread bowl was like heaven. The fried green tomatoes were also a favorite. The short ribs with the smothered collard greens and the cornbread were on an another planet of goodness. You want fresh local oysters on the half shelf pulled from the water only hours ago, well they got you right in house with them lying on ice and a professional shucker right there to serve you with a beautiful smile. Did I mention the dessert bar? Freshly baked cookies, macaroons, mini red velvet cake shooters, lemon puff pastries, mini cheesecakes, and other treats that would leave the sweetest sweet tooth, toothless. The food was Southern, but wound up a notch. It was not boring. It was not common. If you're in Savannah for a work conference or need a place to meet to discuss business with your team, host a holiday party, or have a small wedding reception, do not skip The Room at Common. One thing I appreciate is how attentive the staff is to each guest. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. You feel as if you're one of the family coming to visit. The cocktails are delicious. The wine selection is fantastic and carefully crafted with an experienced sommelier in house. I'm telling you that you will kick yourself if you don't have you people call Leah Ralph to book your event. The food and drinks will make your folks love you forever!

We were looking for a small, intimate, and beautiful space to host our micro-wedding celebration, and after reaching out to many places in downtown Savannah, The Room at Common stood out immediately. When we did our site visit, it was exactly what we had envisioned and more. The space is beautifully decorated inside a historic Savannah building and offers thoughtful features like a Frame TV for slides or welcome messages, private restrooms, a private bar, and the ability to play your own music (which is rare for a small venue and comes without extra charges). Leah was wonderful to work with throughout the entire process. She responded to our initial inquiry almost immediately, something that really stood out since many other venues took days or even weeks to reply. From the first email to the site visit and all the communication leading up to the event, she was incredibly helpful and reassuring. As someone who works in hospitality and tends to be a bit of a "controller," it meant a lot to feel confident that everything was in good hands. On the day of our celebration, everything was beyond what we imagined. The space looked beautiful, and we were greeted so warmly. Sammy, our server, was attentive and fun, and the bartender was fantastic as well. And the food... absolutely incredible. Every dish exceeded expectations. Our guests are still talking about it weeks later. The oysters were incredibly fresh, the steak was outstanding, and the fried cornbread, fish dip, and cheesecake were unforgettable. A huge thank you to the Executive Chef (who even came out to greet us) and the entire kitchen team. Every member of the team made us feel cared for and ensured we had everything we needed. They truly embody the meaning of Southern hospitality. Thank you all for making our day so special. My husband and I already say that if we ever renew our vows or host another celebration, we'll absolutely be coming back.
