It seemed the waitress I had did not receive enough training. She forgot twice to bring me water after agreeing to it both times. She didn't tell me anything would be an upcharge. And when I noted the issue to her at the register she had no clue about any of it. Which makes me think it's not her fault but the people didn't train her right. Or print in the menu what is an upcharge or not. Unfortunately there was no one on site who could work with me on this- in NJ diners if you are charged wrong they will make it right with you!! I talked with everyone who was actually there and they are understanding but at no point was I offered any recompense for this. I would have given the remainder as tip anyway... but the unannounced upcharge means no server tip. I hope they can rectify their menus and their training. I hope they take this to heart and improve.
