I came to Fired Earth looking for paint samples and bathroom tiles. This shop is expensive!! However they have some really beautiful tiles here. I ended up going with some cheap as cheap tiles from a diy store and bought some tiles from Fired Earth to add character and accent. The tiles were about 12 quid each so I can't imagine how expensive it would be to tile everything from here. We ordered the tiles and had to wait to have them delivered which was a bit frustrating as we already had someone in working on the bathroom, but I guess that was also our own fault for not giving enough lead time. Also while the staff were lovely and friendly, I felt a little bit condescended to because we weren't planning on buying all our tiles from there. However the tiles themselves are amazing, we might have tiled our whole bathroom for the price of a few tiles but those accent tiles really make the room. read more

I would be very careful about buying merchandise from this company. I bought wood flooring, the 'Natural Habitat' engineered flooring from their Wood Collection. When the flooring came I found that at least 4, out of 30, of the boards were unusable because they had very visible cracks running through them. I was told that even though the wood was substandard that they would not replace or refund money for the defective boards. The carpenter that is installing the flooring was in complete agreement that the boards were unusable. In my opinion a respectable company would be keen on trying to make their customers happy particularly when there is justification in the claim. Very disappointed with this company especially given how expensive they are. Well, since writing the above they have agreed to replace the bad boards so I am very happy now as the floor looks really nice. read more

But when things started going wrong on their side, there practically was no 'Customer service' as such. loss incurred £550 and although it was a manufacturing fault , Fired Earth refused to change or compensate for the tiles. Apalling service. ordered £1500 worth of tiles on line. Due to multiple mistakes on their part, which they have admitted, they failed to deliver the goods on two occasions. A complete waste of my time; it just goes to prove that high cost is not always a guarantee of high quality service. The customer service representative was polite but unable to recitify. Fired earth provide no useful warranty of their sanitary ware an issue that is not explained until something goes wrong at which point they abdicate all responsibility and it took me 6 phone calls to find this out. read more

You pay top price for Fired Earth and get some nice looking products. But their service and delivery policies are awful: you have to pay a delivery charge for things that cheaper companies do for free, and they are woefully unreliable. My latest episode involved trying to buy a paint from their catalogue. They didn't have it in stock and wanted 12 days to get it delivered to the shop unless I paid a supplement and then they could get it in the following Monday (4 days later). A week after making the order they call me to say that I need to pay in advance because although it is in their catalogue it is classed as an "archive" paint. It doesn't occur to them that where they are at fault they should rectify. It doesn't occur to them that 12 days to deliver a tin of paint they should have in stock is simply not good enough, and they don't see the absurdity of trying to charge a premium for expedited delivery which will still take 4 days. Fired Earth, if you're listening to this, join the 21st Century: other companies are working out how they can move from next day delivery to same say delivery for no charge: you can't even manage same week. Other companies apologise when they get things wrong and sort things out; you expect the customer to foot the bill. You won't be hearing from me again, but of you don't want to lose all of your customers then you need to change. Start with your attitude. read more
