I am super happy to know that my daughter LOVES the school, first time in the few years she's been in school she actually mentions that her school is awesome that she likes going to school everyday. I recently put her in the after school program which I was a little hesitant to do so just because it's a long day in school plus and additional few more hours but once again she loves it she has not once complain about it. Let me tell you how much of a nightmare it is to live by…read morethis school. 5 days out of the week from 7:30am til around 5:30 to 6 pm (after school time), the students just scream. All they do is scream throughout the day. Sometimes the screaming is blood-curdling. I once had a visiting relative comment on this and they thought that the students were being attacked in some way. They weren't joking and were genuinely concerned to the point they thought we should contact law enforcement. I had to remind them that they do this every day, it continues after school in the after-school programs. Once, as I was going for a walk by the school, a student, possibly separated from his gym class made a very crude and offensive sexual remark at me (an adult) relating to oral. There were zero adults present and I had no idea how to report this as I was very far from the entrance of the school which is on Firestone. Not very long ago, about 2-3 months ago, a lone student behind the fence was just yelling, "n-er, n-er!!!" repeatedly for close to two minutes straight. The parents are self-entitled. They will block your driveway when it's time to pick up a child. They have been in my own experience combative and aggressive. In the mornings, the parents will play their corridos and Banda music very loud in a residential area. There is a female teacher who uses her megaphone throughout the day to talk to her students during what sounds like gym period. She is the only teacher I hear! It becomes such a nuisance as I work from home. This school makes it very difficult to complain as there are no online forms to fill out, no way to submit any sort of documentation. If I call, they tell me I could only file a complaint in person during school hours and where's the time for that? In this day and age where it's easier to access things via the internet, you still have to go in person. I have lived by this school for decades. This is far from a decent school. It needs a lot of improvement and consideration for the residents that live around it. (For some reason this review shows I am located in San Francisco. I live and currently am located in South Gate.)

Lynwood high school was Ranked 1,174 out of 2017 California High Schools. Theres around 2,300 students, 91.7% are Latinos and 7.4% are African American. In 2018, Lynwood High ranked worse than 58.2% of high schools in California.. It also ranked #1 among 4 ranked high schools in the Lynwood Unified School District. In 2018 the calculated Average Standard Score was 42.08 now, I didn't say anything wrong...these are state stats.
