I was recommended to this store by a coworker. When I arrived I was almost immediately greeted and told they would be with me as soon as someone was available since there were other customers in the store. When I started receiving help, it was from Mason. He was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I took close to an hour of his time and he never once got impatient or rude. He was nice, friendly, courteous, and overall seemed happy to be helping me with my search for AR parts. They had every single part I was looking for in a variety of colors, makes, and styles. I personally will be shopping here solely for my weapons and weapon parts due to their customer service, selection, and friendliness. I have been in the store several times since my original visit. I went in wanting a .22 pistol and saw one that felt nice in the hand, slim, and compact with metal frame. Asked if they could order something similar to the one I was handling with a threaded barrel. I ended up buying and ordering one they recommended and the pistol that came in was made almost entirely of plastic, bulkier then a Glock and is the most inaccurate pistol I have ever shot. I spent $150 with them and they sold me the wrong magazine for my rifle. Opened the bag and the mag didn't fit. Put it back in the bag for return which they refused, saying it was scratched and not in resale condition. Left the $30 magazine with them and walked out the door. I had no use for it and they were happy to let me walk on out. It was a cheap lesson and I'll never spend a dime with them again. I didn't look at the picture but there are two things going on here: 1. I never loaded the magazine. All I did was try and put this mag in my rifle and didn't use a hammer, just pressed it against the bottom metal to make sure I could insert and release the mag. If it's that beat up the quality is apparently poor. 2. Having been in retail management before I would never allow a upset customer walk away for the sake of something less than $20. I would Chae the guy down and ask how to resolve the issue. I'd have been happy with a store credit for partial value if that was the negotiation. The guy just said he didn't know what to do about it and stood there looking at me like I had the answer. Guess they needed the $30 bucks more than I do. Back to the bigger gun stores I guess or amazon where I get my product in 2 days and zero return issues. read more

It really is a cool place. Usually very helpful and knowledgeable staff. But, I usually can only get there on Sundays and they are never open. I've shown up at noon and waited 20-30 minutes. Hopefully this review gets to the owner and they realize their weekend staff is no good. You're unreliable hours has easily cost you $1000. Good thing Academy is reliable. I met one of their representatives at the gun show at the fairgrounds last weekend. I don't think I have met anyone that was as arrogant and uninformed as that man. He acted like he had all the answers. I feel that if he did not know anything, then he needed to just say so and get someone that had the answers. I ended up purchasing a firearm that he knew nothing about....ie. did not know the difference between single action and double. He also told me all rails for laser sights on all handguns were the same....WRONG info. I am not the only one that has encountered your employees that had not a clue. You need to hire people that are more knowledgeable about the products they are trying to sell. Just saying.... if you want to do repeat business with people you need to hire people that don't think they know more than the people they are talking to. I don't think I will ever do business with you again, and that is sad because I am of an age that I only work to support my shooting habit. These guys are primarily a smallish rifle and customizable rifle sales operation. If you are building an AR-15 from parts, or you want a custom AR-15 they can help you out. They are at the gun show (during weekends) nearly every time, and I imagine this stretches them on staff. They do apparently have separate stock for the store and for the gun show. It is nearly impossible to keep every little gun part in the right colors in stock, so if you want something on a weekend, call first and find out if they took it to the show before you pop in to the store, and you won't have issues. If they don't have something on the weekend they can get almost anything by Tuesday, they ordered me a less common custom billet lower and had it by Tuesday, and called me when it came in. That is like Amazon Prime fast. Half the time when I order from Palmetto online it takes weeks... So, in some ways it's probably better than ordering the stuff online. I wouldn't hesitate to do business with these guys. They won't steer you wrong, they are fair, and generally very helpful. They apparently don't do FFL transfers, but I also have a close friend FFL who won't do transfers for me, his friend, because he told me if he does transfers, his house can be searched at any time. There is a registry of FFL transfer people online though, and they are all over. It's not hard to find one. Most major retailers have a drop down list of FFLs probably closer to you than this store. I guess they are closed on Mondays, but they are open Sunday, which is huge in Oklahoma. I swear this whole state shuts down on Sunday. read more
