Padova doesn't get dissected by the tourist blogs and restaurant analysts. Thus, finding good restaurants in Padova is a case of trial and error. Compelled to use social media, which I trust as much as a politician, Ytheca Fiorital was a fortunate find.
Modern, with an "au courant" design, Fiorital is 75% restaurant and 25% market. Initially, this turned me off, but the space is divided well, and the market doesn't infringe on the restaurant, which has an open kitchen. The young staff is happy, friendly, engaging and enhanced our dining experience to the max. We had lunch at Fiorital, and it may be too casual for dinner. However, it was perfect for lunch. The seafood was fresh and delicious. Pasta was done perfectly. I enjoyed Fiorital's pasta more than yesterday's lunch in Bologna. The menu had a ton of variety, and desserts tasted real good. Certainly, Fiorital was worth the insalubrious walk from the centro storico, which had me perplexed at first. Padova's city scape changes abruptly, without any warning. In a half a block, we went from charming to urban grit. Yikes! Fiorital is a very nice restaurant. read more
