The college was located on land they had purchased and later sold to the State of CT in 1845, that property is now called Bushnell Park. One of the original college dormitories was located right where the State Capitol Building now stands. Trinity College is a member of The Little Ivy Schools along with Wesylan, Amherst and Williams College in our area. The Trinity campus building architecture is simply beautiful the Main Quard is bounded by the clock tower and Brownell Chapel on the North, the straight run, called the Long Walk made up of dorms and classrooms on the West border of the green this is a grand promenade of the entire lenght of The Main Quard. The Green is distinct as it has no paths through it; the Elm trees on the green are planted in a "T" for Trinity. There is a larger than life bronze statue of Thomas Church Brownell founder of the college and to the rear on either side are two canons from the USS Harford, the flag ship of Rear Admiral David Farragut during the civil war battle of Mobile Bay in New Orleans. There is plenty of history and beauty here as a visit to Trinity College and Brownell Chapel will no doubt confirm!

Please note, that UCONN Greater Hartford will be relocating to the old Times building in Hartford…read morepossibly for the start of the 2017-2018 school year. Being so used to CCSU's campus, coming here for grad school is totally different experience. The campus is much smaller, due to the fact that it is a branch campus of UCONN. There are only five buildings: the small technology building, the library (with additional classrooms and an auditorium), the School of Social Work building, the Undergraduate building, and the maintenance building. That's pretty much it. There is not much of food options in between classes, only in the undergrad building you can pick up some on the go goods. It's like a small convenience store with a couple of microwaves and lots of seating. If you want real food, your best bet is to go to Bishop's Corner or Blue Back Square, both within a couple miles of the campus. During the warmer months a lot of people like to walk their dogs or push baby strollers through the campus. There is also a small pond that is frequently inhabited by ducks and geese as well. Just watch out for geese poop littered throughout the sidewalks. I wonder what UCONN will make of this campus after they move back to Hartford. I place my money on it being bought by University of St. Joseph. Either way, I'm sure the new campus will be much more beautiful than the current one. Plus the relocation will give students a lot more and better options to eat and play in between classes.
