This was going to mark the fourth time I had visited Indian Rock Tactical. The previous times the…read moreexperience had been a mixed bag. My first visit was the day before they first opened--I had no idea the store wasn't yet open but the door was open, so I went in. I was immediately and rudely told that they weren't open until tomorrow. I fully understand a business getting ready to open its doors for the first time and not wanting customers milling about yet, but no need to be obnoxious. That was a portent of things to come. On my 2nd and 3rd visits, both times the staff was dismissive. Not rude, they just didn't give a damn about customers, myself included. Both of these times, some friend of the store or an employee had come in and the remaining employees gathered around to hear the latest tales, everyone else became irrelevant. I actually like the shop but the customer support leaves much to be desired. Then there was today. I pulled up at 9:40, pleased to see their large folding OPEN sign out on the street. As I went to the door, an employee was going in. He said that the store doesn't open until 10:00. I inquired about the big open sign at the street and just rudely repeated that the store doesn't open until 10:00-- no apology, no explanation, no interest in customer support. Now I was not expecting to be given early access to the store but seriously, how about a slight bit of contrition for the screw up? How about "Hey, I am really sorry about that. Let me get the lights on and the store ready and I will be open shortly." Is that really to much to all? With IR Tactical it repeatedly seems so. I suppose that is my major beef with IR Tactical. They just seem utterly indifferent to their customers. I tend to buy a lot of prep stuff and like getting to know who I do business with because relationships are important to me. Sadly, not for IR Tactical. I will take my hard earned money to a supplier that cares about my business. I like to support local B&M stores, even paying a bit more to keep them going. But, as for this place, I won't be back.

So much to see and explore! I found a gorgeous blanket scarf the moment I walked in which saved me since it was bitterly cold outside! Score!! I also purchased a fantastic concrete bust of a pensive girl which I bought for my daughter!! I would strongly recommend considering another location if you're planning to book a hair…read moreappointment. Unfortunately, I've had two separate experiences at this salon that resulted in significant damage to my hair. During my most recent appointment, my hair was left with multiple uneven shades of blonde and highlights that were not applied evenly. Also to mention I have been a loyal ulta client who has had years of notes in system and show pictures of what I'm looking for in my hair appointment. The condition of my hair also worsened significantly, including breakage and noticeable bald spots. I was extremely upset during the appointment, especially because I was reassured that my hair could be taken to the color I wanted. Afterward, I had to travel to North Carolina where I normally go to have a professional color correction done because I was unable to find someone locally who could correct the color quickly and safely. The only reason why I went there is because I'm a college student and live in the area and I have a busy schedule. To travel out to NC, The correction was expensive, and I'm now also having to spend additional money on repair treatments to address the breakage and damage and the balding. Another concern is that this location currently only has one stylist, so I would personally recommend looking at other locations before scheduling an appointment here. If you're considering having your hair lightened, highlighted, or color corrected, I would especially encourage you to do your research and choose a stylist with extensive experience in those services. It's my last year and I plan to go into professional dance so my hair is important to me and now I had to get my hair darkened because of the damage from the Lynchburg va. I also had an uncomfortable experience during my appointment with other customers repeatedly sitting near me and bothering me, which made me feel uneasy. I can only speak to my personal experience, but the environment during my visit was not one where I felt particularly comfortable. The store itself has been fine for my other shopping experiences, but based on what happened with my hair, I would not personally recommend booking a hair appointment at this location. I would strongly encourage anyone considering it to look into another location, such as the Roanoke store, and save themselves the potential time, money, and stress of having to correct a bad color service afterward. I'm sharing this because I wish I had known more about the experience before booking. Please do your research and be cautious when choosing where to have your hair colored or highlighted.
