I like this gym as its inexpensive and has a good selection of classes and a decent enough gym. They have certain times for teenagers from 13 years of age which i find very good and useful for keeping kids 'off the street'. They have classes for different levels of fitness. I did both a pilate fit class and a spinning class and while the first left me feeling i've worked on my core the second left me sweating buckets. The pool also has aqua aerobics and swimming lessons for children. The negative for me is the open plan mixed changing rooms which left me feeling i had no privacy as there were a lot of shouting and messing kids around. Also the gym also has no TV's other than 2 silent ones in the distance and I find staring at a wall while jogging on the threadmill quite boring so I don't have much motivation to go up there. read more

My little man started swimming lessons here a few weeks ago....and i have to say, the staff are so friendly, helpful and great with kids. In his short few weeks, his confidence in the water has approved hugely thanks to them. The pool is clean and its fantastic that the floors move to allow for different depths for different classes. The swimming lessons are so reasonable compared to the private pools, such as the ones in hotels/gyms. Swimming lessons are €32 for 6 lessons. One of these days i will go to the gym, on the machines that overlook the pool while the swimming lessons are on...but for the moment, i'm just far too lazy for that. read more

What a great leap of faith I did when I decided to go there ! I thought..hmm a public swimming pool in finglas...I don't know, man...wrong ! This place is clean, super friendly, modern (though the layout is a bit too modern - mixed changing area for instance), and in the hour I spent there, I found a refreshing mixture of old people keeping in shape, a serious swimming minding his own business, a kid having a swimming lesson and a couple just there to relax. I paid 6e for an hour off peak (3-4pm...dont know if that's different in the evening..) and that was the best spent 6e of the week. Ok the 25m swimming pool was slipt in 2 with a movable wall (well, I know the floor is movable, I hope that wall isn't there all the time !) combined with 2 lanes, we only had a rather small square to swim in but that was actually grand. There's a good atmosphere in there which helps a lot. The other great thing about this place is that there is a large steam room AND a sauna AND a super cold shower in between and this little detail is gigantic to me because I just love cooling off quickly after the steam room. Regarding the changing area, you have the choice between 1€ locks with the bracelet (though I think they lost the vast majority of the keys) or use your own lock ...plenty of storage. You change in a common area, open to everyone which really feels weird (though you DO have individual cabins, don't worry), as well as 5-6 showers that are in the open also (bottom line - forget about having a normal shower after your swim !) A note as well that there's a gym area that seems comprehensive, the room overlooks the pool so I could see a good few emmm gym equipment that I never use ! One 2nd and last note that at 4, when I left, an invasion of little ones arrived and took over the pool so I was relieved I chose just the right time ! read more

I agree with 1st reviewer - didn't know quite what to expect when I went along this morning at 11.00. The pool is very nice, fresh and modern. Good atmosphere, music, and the movable floor is cool! I have the same reservations about the mixed changing area. There are lots of private cubicles but it's a bit wierd. There is also a seperate communal women's changing room where there are 3 showers - not enough, I had to queue. There are also showers beside the pool to use before and after you swim but it is possible to avoid them before going in, which I find odd. I'm used to a pool where showering is obligatory. I didn't know about needing my own padlock for a locker, and most people seemed not to lock theirs. Nice to see that level of trust in operation, but again, I'd be happier with a lock. Major reservation is the fact that there is no separation between 'dry' and 'wet' zones, apart from the poolside itself. It means that bare feet and shoes share the floor. Again, I've been using a pool where the changing cubicles are laid out along a passage, and they have two doors. You go in one side dressed and out to the pool on the other, without shoes. However, I will definitely be using this pool again. read more

I cant say enough about the aquafit classes. Im a 76 year old male, and since joining 6 weeks ago, i have more movement in my body then I have had in years. Surprised that more men dont join in. Keep up the good work. EDDIE read more
