I brought my niece and nephew (five year old twins!) here a few weeks ago. I was not too sure what…read moreto expect but I had heard good things about the place and it seemed like a good idea for occupying two energetic children for two hours on a rainy day! The building looks amazing from the outside, very impressive architecture and its distinctiveness is reflected inside the building once you enter. It cost us €34 for two five year olds and two adults which I thought was a bit much, I didn't expect the adult and child price to be the same. Adults are encouraged to go in and play with their children which is great but there are attendants walking around keeping an eye on the children also (for when you want a rest!). The "museum" is laid out in different areas, there is a kitchen, a construction area, a TV studio, an art room and lots more... running through the centre of the building is a climbing frame which was the biggest attraction for my niece and nephew, it certainly provided exercise for the parents that were running up and down the stairs trying to keep track of their climbing kids! The boy and girl I brought also loved dressing up in the TV studio area, they even got their faces painted after a bit of a wait. Although there were lots of children in the building I never felt that any one area was too crowded which was good, although there were queues for things such as the face painting. There is an area that is provided for babies but in my opinion the section is very sparse and did not have anything that would entertain a very young child for very long. I only saw one baby there during my visit and he didn't look too happy! I don't think that Imaginosity would hold the interest of older children either, I think a child over the age of eight or so would get bored fairly quickly because these days children I know above the age of eight are not as interested in "playing house" or "make believe" and that is what Imaginosity is all about. There is a restaurant where you can get some refreshments but I found it to be very expensive, if I were to go again I would definitely bring my own drinks and snacks for the children. All in all it is an entertaining place for children (it even disguises a bit of education in fun), it is unique and I do not know of any other place like it in Dublin. In my opinion it is suitable for children between the ages of three and eight but outside of these ages you are wasting your money. Also I would maximise the value for my money by only having one adult for a group of children rather than an adult per child like we did. Oh, and don't wear heels!

It makes you feel like you need to whisper... *hush* Upstairs is a different crowd altogether - an intimate bar with big windows, perfect for people watching in Temple Bar. Small but good selection of beer too, my mates enjoyed a Brooklyn beer while I guzzled back a glass of crisp Sauvignon Blanc. Note however the bar will be closed for the time a show is going on upstairs so plan your visit accordingly!

It's well worth keeping an eye out for what goes on here, some small but interesting productions pop up from time to time. A considerable part of their programme is offered for free. Like other people said, the entrance feels a bit uninviting for some reason - is it that you're immediately faced with the reception desk, their gatekeeper? Or the tables to the side, surrounded by books, where a lot of times a sort of private lecture seems to be going on? Whatever it is, don't be put off by it, the members of staff are quite nice. I can attest to the versatility of the different rooms, as they are completely transformed to better suit whatever they're hosting. One month there's a huge installation making use most of the space and the next you have a stage and rows of theatre seats. There's a small café too, and the area by the big windows upstairs, overlooking the street and bathed by its light, is a good place to sit and relax for a while, a lot more relaxing than the tables downstairs.

That being said, I don't know if it is typical or just the game I attended, but it was pretty sweet to be allowed on the field after the game! They also had groups on the field during halftime. Having just been to dinner, I didn't check out the concession stands, but can say the bathrooms were cleaned. Overall, an excellent part of my Dublin experience!

You see, I knew the minute that I typed "Parnell Park" into Yelp that no-one would have reviewed…read morethe place. You can all wax lyrical about the joys of "Croker this" and "Hill 16 that", Parnell Park is the true home of Dublin GAA (this is also strictly true in the technical sense; for Croke Park is the national stadium and the headquarters of the GAA, while Parnell Park is Dublin's home ground and the home of the Dublin County Board). It's grand for all the fair-weather fans supporting Dublin in the glamorous championship during the summer; where were they on the rainy night in February for the national league match against Roscommon? I first became acquainted with Parnell Park when I was very young. We were still living in Killester, just down the road from the Nell, and I used to be able to hear the roars in my back garden on match days. As such, the place naturally held an immediate draw for me, and I used to make my Dad bring me down there, which, fair play to him, he did on a regular basis, despite him being a Tipperary man with a natural aversion to football. My nascent interest in the national game happened to coincide with a brief revival in Dublin's footballing fortunes. We got to the final in 1994, only to be beaten by Down, and we got to the final again in 1995, on which glorious day we beat Tyrone and lifted Sam for the first time in 12 years, a feat which, nearly 14 years later, we've yet to repeat since. Since 1995, my love affair with the Dublin team has been noticeably cooling. But there are some who don't go back to cutting the grass or doing whatever else people return to on Sundays having given it up between May and September. There are 2000-3000 hardcore Dublin fans who are at Parnell Park week in, week out throughout the national league, fans who don't stop following their team outside of the grand confines of Páirc an Chrócaigh. So head down to Collins Avenue some Saturday or Sunday between January and the end of April to see a real GAA experience.

Difficult to be so intimate for so long but the actors sustained the relationship beautifully. I hope I get to see another play here some day. The benches were comfortable. It certainly wasn't crowded for the matinee- there were only about 10 people total, including us, which was very sad as the play was so wonderful and the acting so superb. There is a bar in the lobby and the building is gorgeous. They've an upper floor you can rent out for occasions. And it's gorgeous- stained glass windows, lovely giant hall with beautiful ceiling- the works. I think you'd have a lovely wedding if you booked it. I wish I could go back for more productions, because this place is a class act all the way. Nice bathrooms, too.

A little known theatre amongst the occasional theatre going crowd. It is wedged between two…read morechurches and is something that you would easily walk by. It was built way back in 1662 and was a prominent theatrical venue in it's hey day. On either side of it is St Michael and St John's Church. It's structure still remains and it opens up into the basement. It recently got a refurbishment grant so that it could be modelled back to it's former glory. Its part of Gaiety School of acting and you can catch some good performances. The location is in Temple Bar which adds to it's historical essence, a real Dublin treasure.

We brought our 8 and 10 year old kids, thinking we'd just see the animals really quickly. But, we ended up spending over 4 hours! We ate breakfast at the Overends Kitchen, and it was fantastic! Then we watched them collect chicken eggs and milk cows. So cool!! Then we walked around visiting adorable cows, calves, sheep, donkeys, and sheep! There were beautiful flower gardens and amazing trails that were so fun with the kids! They also had a fun playground!! There were so many other things to enjoy here that we didn't get to, but we absolutely loved our visit. We wish we lived in the area so we could visit more!

Oh what a day it was......... I needed to evade the house cleaning binge my better looking half was…read moreon so what better way than to remove myself from the situation entirely and bring the little one to the farm. Great location just over 5 minutes stroll from Dundrum shopping centre and the luas stop. It began with a cupcake, ( it was awesome) then continued with rain. Luckily I was well prepared with wellies and waterproofs......... for the child. I unfortunately looked like a dog who fell in a well by the end of the day. The chickens were first and full of life and head bobbing joy, then on to the calves. This is where the fun started. My daughter began to harass the young things to say moo..... "SAY MOO COWS!!!! SAYYYY MOOOOOOOO" they proceeded to chew and blink............unimpressed. Everybody else however got a few giggles out of it. Then the pigs. Where the girl said " DO NOT under any circumstances put your fingers in. pigs WILL EAT that meat." My fearless soldier girl promptly put her entire hand in and started stroking the BIG and I mean BIG mammy pigs head whilst I nearly took a heart attack pulling her hand back out. Then the goats were the best part........... it was raining heavily by now.... there was no shelter nearby........ but giving the goats grass from our hands was the only thing she wanted to do, not even the lure of the ever amazing Mcdonalds could pull the 2 year old away from the beasts. All in all twas an odd day but I loved it! They also had some beautiful gardens and displays...... Well worth a visit for all the family members...... unless they are on a spring cleaning blitz. Then leave them at home, it worked for me!
