I'm switching practices just so I don't ever have to speak to the receptionist again. She was…read moreutterly dismissive of my very easy ask that she forward DHS paperwork to the doctor. The doctor himself is professional and I have not had any problems with him. I scanned it cleanly and emailed it to the office. She took one look at it, called me back, and said she 'could' have the doctor look at it but that they just wouldn't be able to complete it. My case worker at DHS had deliberately told me to send this physical assessment to my podiatrist's office for temporary assistance. The receptionist was insisting that I was fine and that she could call DHS directly and tell them that I'm not having any issues, as if it were a threat. ...Why did I pay $200 for custom orthotics if I'm fine, then? This receptionist is simply an assistant, and yet she was acting as though she were both my doctor AND my case worker. I asked very politely if she could just have the doctor look at it and fill out any information RELEVANT TO PODIATRY, and sign it. I said I WOULD DO THE REST. ...She insisted I hang up and contact DHS, because she 'does paperwork all day', and apparently knows better than the local government. Extremely condescending and unprofessional. Don't even bother asking for more than the bare minimum. Waste of time and energy. Because of her incompetence, the deadline passed and my case was denied because I didn't have all of the paperwork in. I sincerely doubt she even told the doctor I called.

Great staff, amazing podiatrist- really listens and responsive to patient needs. Highly recommend.read more

I couldn't get in to see that person until mid-October. I was able to get in to see Dr. Ali much sooner than that. They made my appointment a week later. (I saw him today.) I was worried about getting bunions on my feet. They took six different x-rays, three on each foot. Dr. Ali quelled my fears and he was very good about explaining how feet bend and grow. I don't have them yet. I'll (hopefully) be getting orthotics. Dr. Ali has a great bedside manner and is very helpful. He really cares about his patients. The rest of the staff is great too. They have very comfortable chairs in the waiting room and the paintings are great. I definitely recommend this facility.

They are very greedy people, and the new gorilla working the front desk has the manners of a hog…read more I took my wife there on 05/23/2004, and at the last minute, they wanted me to tell me provide the exact date of her last visit to her healthcare provider. I said I didn't know it and they refused to provide service which left her in tears, after three open-heart surgeries and a stroke it is very hard for her to understand. They asked us to leave, the last time this happened before the gorilla started working there the reception was kind enough to call the provider and obtain the needed information. The gorilla refused to do this. The first time they said if the insurance does pay I will have to pay $50.00 out of pocket of $50..00 which was the charge I said ok , yesterday the gorilla said it would cost me $80..00 this was three months later I will never return. Batavia Foot is all about money, I would go to a horse trimmer first.

I've gone to a convenient care center - they've misdiagnosed my foot problem a few times. Other Orthopedists in the area are already booked. If you're in Ithaca and you have a foot problem, see Dr. Gould at Cayuga Foot Care. He's competent and scheduling is easier.

I went to see the doctor who owns this business a few years ago to have a plantar's wart removed. I…read moreasked him to continue to treatment I'd had done with a doctor I was seeing back home (was in college at the time). He insisted that the doctor from home was doing the treatment in a stupid way and it would be much easier and faster to remove it surgically. Ok. Well I filled out a quick form and he took me into the office. He seemed like he was in a bit of a hurry. He injected some kind of numbing local anesthetic into my big toe and it felt painful and not especially numb. I told him this and he told me that didn't make sense, but added a bit more anesthetic. He then started cutting into my foot, at which point I cried out because my toe was not numb at all, and very sensitive because of the infection. He insisted that it was psychosomatic, and made me look away and cut in again, I still cried out, and he realized that it was actually painful and I wasn't faking. He then asked me if I had Raynauds Syndrome. I said I might? I never was told this by a doctor, but I'd read about it online and it sounded like me. He then got frustrated, said I clearly do have Raynaud's, and told me pretty aggressively that I should have told him that. He added even more anesthetic, completed the surgery, and I left really uncomfortable and upset. I ended up having to pay a big bill because my insurance didn't cover everything, the plantar's wart came back except there were 2 instead of just 1, and I still (years later) haven't regained all of the feeling in the part of my toe where he injected a lot of anesthetic. Pretty terrible experience with this doctor. Had he listened to me in the first place when I told him the anesthetic wasn't working, I could have avoided a painful and frustrating experience.
