My husband and I can't say enough great things about BBC. We signed up for everything-- birth classes, comfort measures, breastfeeding, yoga, etc., alllll the things (!)-- and had Julia present during labor/delivery. BBC is a community. Their classes are packed (in a really good, intentionally-sized way, no in an overcrowded, classroom way), and their Rochester and surrounding network is huge (think: PT, chiro, OBGYN, yoga, provider, etc.). Everyone we met throughout classes was well-informed, patient (with my zillion questions), and obviously embedded within the hospital systems. Labor and delivery at Strong clearly know (and respect) BBC. Everyone at BBC is focused on YOUR agenda, not theirs (and helping you figure out what you want, if you haven't sorted this part out and want to!). During my delivery, Julia was my (and my husband's) support and advocate. She helped me clarify my goals and find my voice. My labor/delivery didn't go as I'd planned, but because of BBC, my experience was positive. One of the many brilliant things about BBC is that the community aspect doesn't "end" after delivery-- it continues through their groups/classes geared towards learning how to adjust to life post-baby, life with a toddler, returning to work, etc. I love it here! I cannot recommend the services provided at Beautiful Birth Choices enough. I attended prenatal yoga, as well as childbirth class series and a breastfeeding 101 class prior to giving birth to my son. I always felt very welcomed and a strong sense of community. The yoga teachers are all wonderful, providing a safe environment to practice in, with knowledge of modifications needed for pregnancy, and welcoming people of all skill levels. The birthing/breastfeeding classes were very informative and helped me feel more confident about the choices I made during labor & delivery. Since having my son, I have come back for Breastfeeding Cafe on Wednesdays, and felt a strong sense of community there as well. There are many support groups for VBAC, c-section, and "life with baby," and they can also connect you with doula services. We are very lucky to have them in the Rochester community! read more

When I found out I was pregnant I knew I wanted to go to BBC for help with navigating the process of pregnancy, labor, and birth. My husband and I had NO idea what would happen in the delivery room and we really wanted someone to help us through what we knew would be an uneasy and uncomfortable time for us if we didn't have support. Having Laura as my doula was such a fantastic experience. She talked me through my labor, got me through the toughest moments, and she did it with great care and empathy. I am so grateful for her. The classes that you attend while pregnant are extremely helpful. They really prepared us for our options in the delivery room and made me feel more empowered to speak up for myself. We even made friends with another couple while attending the classes. Our little boys are the same age and friends from the start. It's the sweetest thing to watch and it all started at BBC. If you are able to have a doula or even just attend a class at BBC, I highly recommend it. read more

My husband and I found out that we were having a baby back in December 2021. We have been so excited and cannot wait to start this next journey. After getting established with our doctor's office we realized that our hospital did not offer birthing classes, in person, anymore. They only offered a pre-recorded webinar that you do at your own pace. I'm not the type of person that can learn from that. I've tried and it just isn't me. So I went to the internet to see if there was in person classes somewhere in Rochester. That's when I found BBC. They offered a birthing class but there was only one spot left! I quickly tried to sign up but the website did not work. It changed to completely booked. I called the place and explained online said it had a spot left but would not let me sign up and that was the only class before my due date. I got a text within the hour saying that there was a lot of inquiry about that class time so they were adding another class to accommodate everyone. I was signed up before the end of the night! I also did some looking around the website and saw that the facility offered a breastfeeding class, which I signed myself up for as well! The birthing class was great. It was six weeks long and each one covered something new. They even covered cesareans so if that is something you are doing, the class is beneficial! They really put into perspective how much can change during delivery and how to be open with that. The breast feeding class was super helpful. It put a lot of fears at bay and I feel so prepared for that part of motherhood. There are also the options of a baby class, first aid class, and more. They have a group of doulas and you can get one to help you through your pregnancy and post partum. My favorite thing was the prenatal yoga. I did five sessions and after each one felt so good! It was so nice. Definitely recommend if you are pregnant and finding yourself getting sore and tight. I am looking forward to signing up for post partum yoga and baby & me yoga. read more

Beautiful Birth Choices is using the space where Luvaboos used to be located on Winton Rd. Full of support groups and resources for ready-to-be mamas and seasoned mamas, BBC is one-of-a-kind in Rochester. I recently checked out the yoga studio with my little one and we had a blast at the Friday morning Babywearing Yoga class. The instructor, Elaine, was awesome and the class was SO laid back. If your baby needs to nurse, totally fine! Go for it. The yoga moves were a great change up from my usual workouts because they targeted areas that need to be strengthened or stretched for nursing moms and new moms. All of the staff I interacted with was incredibly friendly, the parking was easy, and the space was beautifully decorated. Definitely worth checking it out! (Especially because the first yoga class is free, so why not?) read more

Christy was the Doula for the birth of my first child. Having lost my mother is May of this year, I was looking to connect with someone who help me navigate through my pregnancy and labor. My husband and I couldn't have been more grateful for her extensive knowledge and support. She was very understanding and eased my frustration, fears and allowed me feel as if I was "prepared."
