I can go to Total Wine and get a six pack of Montauk Brewing Company Summer Ale cheaper than at the actual brewery. Crazy right? And that is the problem. They local folks are saying the big box stores (The Man in other words) are forcing them to sell their beer at a low price so the man can make money. Listen, I don't know the economics, I wanna drink craft beer! One of the Local to Locals spots is Westbury Beverage Center. Westbury Beverage Center is loaded with craft beer! You want some funky IPA? They have it, Westbury Beverage Center has an arsenal of beer for your perusal. I've been hearing a buzz about the Milkshake IPA. I hate IPA beer but trust me, after one sip it is the real deal. What's not the real deal? A 4 pack is $17 bucks. Expensive? HELL YES! Are the locals making money? This is not a megastore, but I found a surprising amount of decent specialty items in bottles and single cans. Scored some Lawson's , Night Shift and Half Acre. Alas, the can of Grimm Afterimage I was hoping to grab was nowhere in sight. The counter help was helpful and the owner told me he would be rotating some cans from his Bellmore store, including some Other Half, so stop back in (which I will gladly do).
