The Aveda products smelled amazing, and the brush used was incredibly soft. The room was peaceful, with instrumental music playing and complete quiet beyond that. Taylor performed the facial. She was very sweet, made me feel comfortable and at home, and helped me relax more easily. I undressed my top half to put on the spa velcro towel, which made the massage more comfortable. They also provided a band to keep my hair pulled back and protected during the facial. read more

The salon is located in a lovely, historic, old home; ambience is charming. That being said, the chair used for the pedicure is an old wood bishop's chair, not very comfortable or relaxing. I had a manicure and pedicure and the result was very disappointing. The nails on my big toes were cut way too short and the edges were rough. The manicure was sloppy, polish thick on the cuticles and residual polish was left on my fingertips. I have several big events this coming week and I will have to have both the manicure and pedicure re-done before these events. read more

I have never had to do this before in all my years living in Brainerd...I received a gift certificate from my employer so I decided to get a pedicure and gel manicure as I was heading to Hawaii. I have been to many of the walk in salons for many years with satisfied results....so I was so excited to see what it was like at a private salon....I have to say I have never been so disappointed in a long time....the technician was very short and didn't take any time to engage with me...I was expecting really to feel pampered...I was in and out in less than 1 hour with a pedicure and gel manicure...so disappointed. Went to salon to have my extensions put in and a cut. She put my old extensions in and did a dry cut. I was expecting a full cut not a dusting to get my natural hair free of broken ends. She did not wash my hair and just did a few snips. Put my extensions in and when she straighten my hair I told her that my ends of the extensions seemed broken so if she could trim them. She again barely dusted them. I went to the counter to pay and she said that would be almost 200.00! Crazy, since the last time it was under 120.00. They need transparency in their pricing! In the area for work and needed a fresh cut. I usually tend to stick to Aveda salons so this was high on my list. I called in the morning to check availability and luckily they had a couple slots that afternoon. I had my appointment with Ally, who was super friendly and listened to exactly what I wanted. Very happy with the results. Also, as a side note, this salon is in a really cool historic home which adds a lot of character. Will definitely go back if I'm in the area again! read more

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED! I had received a gift certificate for a pregnancy massage over the Holidays and I was really excited to use it! In January, I had called on 2 different occasions to book my massage and unfortunately, I had never received a call back. I had called a third time, asked to speak to a manager and the person that had answered my phone call this time (after I had shared the challenges that I had been experiencing) made certain to connect with the massage therapist and book my massage within 30 minutes of that call. As I suspected, my massage was great and when I was checking out at the reception area, I had politely and briefly shared my challenged experience in booking my massage, I still had wanted to share this unique gift with a close friend who was also expecting and was seeking assurance that she was not going to have the same experience I had faced as she had 6 weeks until her due date. I felt comfortable after this conversation and went ahead and purchased this gift certificate for a pregnancy massage to give to her. I had provided the salon with her first and last name for extra precaution. I gave the gift certificate to her within the next week and she too, was looking forward to this as I shared what a wonderful massage that I had. Needless to say, I received a call from her 2 weeks later as she shared that she had tried to book her appointment on 2 different occasions and had not received a call back. I then called the salon, shared my disappointment and someone had turned around, called her the very same day and had her appointment scheduled for the next week. The next week had come just 1 day before her appointment and they had to cancel it! At this time, she was unable to book an appointment before she was due as schedules did not line up. She then asked on my behalf about a refund. The receptionist was not certain if this could be done, placed her on hold to speak with the Business Manager only to find out that in order for a refund, I would have to obtain the given gift certificate and bring it in for a cash refund! HOW EMBARASSING! Of course, I did this so she could spend the money as she would so choose. While receiving the refund, I again asked to speak to a Manager and no one was available to speak with me. In fact, I still have yet to receive any type of call or acknowledgement about this. I understand that businesses are under staffed, do not have great processes in place to avoid such issues or the simple fact people are human and can forget but this is just down right unacceptable I will not refer any of my family or friends here. read more

The team was rude and disorganized when I went in to schedule an appointment for my wedding. They decided to more then double the price to go to our site for the wedding. I had 11 people for hair and make up and they acted like they could care less. This was after I had signed a contract with them. I downloaded yelp just for this, I was super disappointed. The girl I had was rude, and acting like what I wanted couldn't be done. (Went from pink to dark brown) I have done this before. She made my hair so spotty. I could have done better with box dye. I will never go back here again. I paid $95 for something I could have paid $10 and would have seen better results. Plus she blow dried my hair after all said and done and she blow dried my hair to the wrong part so it was all wonky when I had to repart it. I use to come here a lot. And the service has gone down hill majorly. So disappointed. read more
