When I woke up on a Sunday, I found my trusty washer broke :(…read more So then I went online to find a near by laundry mat. Unfortunately I do not have a car ( or license), and thank god I've found this place by the subway line that is open today (otherwise I am out of pants for work tomorrow). This place open pretty long hours and even on weekend. I could not find a yelp review, so I resorted to google and found another person left it as one of the recommended place in Toronto on their webpage. I then verified the location on Google map and found the location is in a safe and nice neighbourhood. It is near where I buy my favourite smoked salmon and right across Dollarama (which used to be my favourite pet store for cat food). With a backpack filled with detergent and an arm filled with dirty pants, I headed to the store. The store is operated by a nice old grandpa and a daughter. The place for pretty clean and much much better than I expected! (Like those shared laundry facility in dormitories in college). Price is reasonable. A triple load washer is $6. Dryer is by timer with 3 settings. I think I put about $2 coins? The grandpa, knowing I am newbie, kindly showed me how to use it. They even have laundry basket, rack, and chairs for use. If my washer is not fixed by my landlord anytime soon, I am likely to be back. Super thanks to the nice grandpa to make my dramatic Sunday experience much easier.

Do not automatically shame female customers. When you kept talking about how heavy my drycleaning…read morewas and whether or not I could carry it, and how I was getting home and where I lived, this was completely inappropriate. First of all, I carried the drycleaning in all by myself, obviously I can carry it out again. Second of all, I'm 20 years younger than you appear, easily 5 inches taller than you and easily 25 lbs heavier, with muscle from lifting weights, you were able to lift my drycleaning, why in the world you you assume that I couldn't?!! There was a man there who appeared in his 70s/80s, much smaller than myself and no one humiliated him, why humiliate me? Further, it's none of your business whether I get home on foot or by car, nor my address when I already said no, and you shouldn't have been asking me this at all, yet alone in front of other customers. Don't assume weakness where there is none !! Plus if a customer repeatedly advises you to stop, payed you promptly, and did nothing at all wrong, no drooling, no walker, no evident incapacity, then stop, there is nothing nice or kind or helpful about your false assumptions and it won't help your sales!! Someone for example, offering a seat on a subway, has no obvious potential secondary gain. In business, the goal of undermining a customer's confidence is sales. For example making people feel insecure about their weight is done to convince them to buy diet products, or insecure about their appearance to get them to buy cosmetics. Pressuring someone who has said no to revealing their address and means of transportation (in this case in front of strangers at a business) can then be directed towards finding out if they live locally then talking them into being a repeat customer (and if the business has a delivery service doubly so, nevermind the snailmail spam to one's postal code). Undermining someone's confidence in their physical abilities is to create a bond with the in this case unneeded "helpful carer" so that the person feels less than the carer, in the debt of the carer, in need of "care", and thus becomes a repeat customer. This is only to the benefits of the business, not the targeted customer. While these tactics may work on some, they don't work on me. You lost my business!

It was a bit disappointing and very inconvenient that the WASHERS ONLY ACCEPT 25¢ and $1 coins. The DRYERS and Triple Load WASHERS ONLY ACCEPT 25¢ coins. But They have a functioning Change dispensing machine on site. Also, there are no instructions or guides on how to use each type of machine (especially the triple load washers). So, a first time user will be super confused. This isn't helped by the lack of staff on site. They have a secure Free WiFi and a TV that's on sometimes - though the channels are not my taste. There were brooms around to allow you clean up after yourself. Helpful. They also have a soap, bleach and softener dispenser on site (at extra cost). Along with a snack and soda machine. Just pray it doesn't steal your coins. I can't recommend the business because in addition to a few issues above, the owner is a little inappropriate or disrespectful in attitude when they do show up. Not a good thing considering the laundry is located in a religious Jewish neighbourhood with families. They recently added professional laundry/dry-cleaning services where you submit your clothes to the staff and they do a professional wash.
