I will start off by saying this was one of the best decisions I made, just wished I had known Karen…read moreWalker years ago. Being a middle child growing up in a large family and always trying to take care of everyone and keep the peace in our family was no easy job but I had always read the peacemakers will inherit the earth, right. But I had put everyone's lives before my own and to do anything for myself I felt much guilt, I had lost who I was in the process. I was so depressed and couldn't figure out why. Karen told me when you are in the eye of the storm everything looks as it should, it's only when you take the step out of it that you can really see what has happened. I had put my own family on a back burner so I could take care of my mother and sisters and I tried to fill their every need. Karen is such an understanding and easy to talk to person just like her add reads, she really gets it. Don't get me wrong I cried a lot in our sessions but after each one I felt the burden lifting off me. I'm not the same person I was, I am finding my joy and I wish I could put into words how that fills. I hope this helps someone who is in the somewhat same place I was in. If I can take that step you can too.

Additional review. So I didn't find out till 4 or 5 days after getting out and I knew if I didn't…read morego back id go on a very long bender. I decided to have a bender on the way back which was a complete mistake. I only remember getting out of the car as a passenger. Things at center pointe are never consistent from one shift to another. Corporate has changed recently and personally I do not believe for the better. Without notice they said they were changing smoke breaks from 5 to 3 smoke breaks in a 24hr period. Personally I come there because they do allow smoking and 5 breaks and 2 cigs per break is doable but not ideal for most. There was so much confusion that the nursing staff tried to take us out when they could to try and cope. Does Corporate not really realize that people are withdrawing from atleast more than one substance and to throw nicotine withdrawals on top of that is really hard on someone. I mean like myself I was detoxing from prescribed opiates and benzos, alcohol and to mess with nicotine is just enough to put anyone on edge. Yes they do offer nicotine gum. But when I asked the milligrams it was like step 4 for nicoderm step 1 thru 4 starts at like 21mg for heavy smokers. But back to the overall stay. Acute units are not allowed to go to any groups off the unit or gym. They eat all the meals in the day room and not the cafeteria. So I would definitely not recommend the acute unit. The nurses and BHA's were always going above and beyond except for a couple that were just flat out rude or "just doing their jobs" id love to shout out to the ones that stood out but dont want to say how or what they did for me but they were crucial for me getting through the hell of that unit. But for small examples One particular male nurse helped to keep me calm by arm wrestling me lol when I had a BAC of .55 plus. Since i was black out drunk a code was called on me. But I truly dont remember very much at all. I remember Mohammed helping talk me down. I really wanna thank Ashley on unit 4 she was so helpful getting me off the unit and just to a detox unit where I could attend groups and atleast 1 meal in the cafeteria. Molly is the best receptionist or A/R lady hand down that they have. Im sure I showed my worst infront of her but she still said hi if she passed in the hallways. So here is my advice. Don't come in over a .08 bac, As soon as you can ask the psych and or medical doctor for the following: A lay down order so your not locked out of your room during the day stuck in very uncomfortable chairs all day. 2nd ask for an order for your personal shoes if you have feet or back injuries (no laces bring your own flip flops, 3rd ask for an order for Ensure and Gatorade (youll get 2 of each each day) 4th ask for an order for double portions as the food is 99% pretty good. If your on a unit that goes to the cafeteria for any meal your usually only offered a peanut butter and jelly for 2nds unless your the last unit for the day and they know they have leftovers. 5th DO NOT EVER TRY TO AMA They can and more usually automatically 72 to 96hr hold you and can even get a court order to hold you longer. So dont fill out those forms they will not warn you at all. Paris saved me on this I think because a code was almost called on me when they said ha ha you have to stay against your will now. Come early in the morning so you get through A/R because your time doesn't start till your on your unit. I showed approx at 330pm on a Fri but was told it was 1am before I got to the unit and my bracelet had an admitted date of Saturday. Which at the end each day feels like minutes are hours. Oh yeah the cool big A/R guy that always has nice new shoes is super nice and Kinzie is badass too. Arkansas from unit 4 was soooooo much help I cant even say. I am bad with names but the BHA that worked for agency seemed to care more than most of the BHAs thst actually worked there. 85% of the staff are awesome but those 15% that shouldn't be there or are burnt out should not be there point blank. I mean that for all departments from janitors to even higher ups. Lastly Jason is some sort of Director of nurses or equivalent and he is not someone you wanna piss off. He can be your friend or your worst enemy but he is a good guy. And last lastly Lou gives straight to the point groups. He hates to be interrupted with people raiding their hands though. There are alot of positive others too. ARKANSAS IS UP AT THE TOP OF MY LIST!!! If smoking is cut out or reduced down to the rumored 3 breaks per 24hrs i will definitely go else where. Just the small changes made already mid visit were a nightmare. It had everyone in edge that we were told that one of the activity people was running late and as she showed up 1 min before us getting to smoke instead she got brutally moaned and groaned at that she became very sad that people didnt wanna see her. She is such a great worker for center pointe. Meg-On rocks!!! Had to shorten this to 5000 characters.

Summary: Another dud in an over saturated market…read more Lowlights: 1) No agenda. Ever. Even after multiple requests, including assurance from the GM David Sanderson, I never received any notes or agenda of any kind from my co-parent counselor (Jacqueline Weydert). The approach of this practice, sadly, isn't uncommon in the mental health industry. While they will no doubt tout a 'client first' set of values, in practice they appear to be more concerned with keeping a steady flow of appointments on the calendar (which, ya know, means a steady flow of income). 2) Co-parenting is supposed to be a counseling session that's facilitated by an unbiased counselor who's goal is to assist the clients with their communication issues as they relate to the care of the children involved. While I did have one session that I would call unbiased, my clearly-disappointed former spouse began emailing the counselor in private as she wasn't satisfied with the outcome of the session. While there weren't any concerns brought up in the session by either my former spouse or Jacqueline, what followed was nothing short of an attack on my dedication to the sessions. It was nothing short of a complete shit show that ultimately lead me to end counseling with Jacqueline and this practice. 3) Piss poor communication. Let me see if I can concisely get this out there. I had to cancel a session due to work -- former spouse had 1-on-1 session in my absence -- I request information from the prior session as the topic regarded one of my children -- Upon request, there is a refusal of any information/notes from both my former spouse and Jacqueline -- I don't confirm the suggested follow-up appointment (due to the lack of requested notes), but Jacqueline charges me for the session anyway -- I speak with David about the issue and he agrees to refund the charge (as he had admitted that the practice/counselor was at fault). He also agrees that it's a reasonable request to want notes prior to the next meeting and assures me that Jacqueline will provide them -- Nearly a week goes by and I don't receive any notes, so I cancel my appt 25 hours prior to it's start (to avoid the cancellation fee). I'm then openly accused of being a disinterested, unwilling participant in the sessions. 4) They actually tried charging me for the time spent on the phone and in emails discussing the cancellation mishap (ya know, the thing that they reimbursed me for because it was THEIR FAULT!). Yep, you read that correctly. They wanted to charge ME for THEIR mistakes. I'm just thankful that the quality of their legal team's ability to write a succinct contract is just as poor as the quality of their counselors. I only wish that I would've read some of these reviews before wasting my time and money on what can only be described as a complete comedy of errors. There are plenty of quality options out there. This isn't one of them. Avoid at all costs. Thank you for your time.

I have not personally been a client of this therapist so my feedback is based on her interactions…read morewith people close to me. From my perspective, Deborah appears to show a bias in communication, leaning more toward one parent versus another. This impression comes from both the wording she uses and the way she engages (or does not engage) in communication. There have been multiple instances where emails were sent and either received no response, even after repeated follow ups, or only very minimal & vague replies. This lack of consistent communication makes it difficult to stay informed and involved. Additionally, sessions are scheduled for an hour but they often last closer to 45 minutes or less, despite being billed as a full session. When asked for professional input or opinions, responses tend to be unclear or not provided, which can be frustrating when guidance is expected. Her website states that her mission is to equip parents and children with the tools they need to build happiness and strong relationships. However, the limited communication with parents does not align with that goal. It is difficult to feel equipped or informed when questions go unanswered. There have also been situations where Deborah's account of events differs from what the child reports. Without consistent communication or follow up, it becomes challenging to fully understand what is happening in sessions or to stay updated on progress. Her description states: "Deborah Woods, National Board-Certified Counselor equips moms to raise happy, successful kids. Moms to team up with their kids on a journey of self-discovery and joyful connection. Along the way moms build cherished relationships and leave discipline problems behind. Dads are empowered to connect with their families while providing loving support and firm boundaries." - Why is the verbiage mostly about moms and the moms raising, moms team and joyful connections.....seems biased. Overall, clearer, more consistent communication and transparency would greatly improve the experience for families trying to stay involved and support their child.
