Additional review. So I didn't find out till 4 or 5 days after getting out and I knew if I didn't go back id go on a very long bender. I decided to have a bender on the way back which was a complete mistake. I only remember getting out of the car as a passenger. Things at center pointe are never consistent from one shift to another. Corporate has changed recently and personally I do not believe for the better. Without notice they said they were changing smoke breaks from 5 to 3 smoke breaks in a 24hr period. Personally I come there because they do allow smoking and 5 breaks and 2 cigs per break is doable but not ideal for most. There was so much confusion that the nursing staff tried to take us out when they could to try and cope. Does Corporate not really realize that people are withdrawing from atleast more than one substance and to throw nicotine withdrawals on top of that is really hard on someone. I mean like myself I was detoxing from prescribed opiates and benzos, alcohol and to mess with nicotine is just enough to put anyone on edge. Yes they do offer nicotine gum. But when I asked the milligrams it was like step 4 for nicoderm step 1 thru 4 starts at like 21mg for heavy smokers. But back to the overall stay. Acute units are not allowed to go to any groups off the unit or gym. They eat all the meals in the day room and not the cafeteria. So I would definitely not recommend the acute unit. The nurses and BHA's were always going above and beyond except for a couple that were just flat out rude or "just doing their jobs" id love to shout out to the ones that stood out but dont want to say how or what they did for me but they were crucial for me getting through the hell of that unit. But for small examples One particular male nurse helped to keep me calm by arm wrestling me lol when I had a BAC of .55 plus. Since i was black out drunk a code was called on me. But I truly dont remember very much at all. I remember Mohammed helping talk me down. I really wanna thank Ashley on unit 4 she was so helpful getting me off the unit and just to a detox unit where I could attend groups and atleast 1 meal in the cafeteria. Molly is the best receptionist or A/R lady hand down that they have. Im sure I showed my worst infront of her but she still said hi if she passed in the hallways. So here is my advice. Don't come in over a .08 bac, As soon as you can ask the psych and or medical doctor for the following: A lay down order so your not locked out of your room during the day stuck in very uncomfortable chairs all day. 2nd ask for an order for your personal shoes if you have feet or back injuries (no laces bring your own flip flops, 3rd ask for an order for Ensure and Gatorade (youll get 2 of each each day) 4th ask for an order for double portions as the food is 99% pretty good. If your on a unit that goes to the cafeteria for any meal your usually only offered a peanut butter and jelly for 2nds unless your the last unit for the day and they know they have leftovers. 5th DO NOT EVER TRY TO AMA They can and more usually automatically 72 to 96hr hold you and can even get a court order to hold you longer. So dont fill out those forms they will not warn you at all. Paris saved me on this I think because a code was almost called on me when they said ha ha you have to stay against your will now. Come early in the morning so you get through A/R because your time doesn't start till your on your unit. I showed approx at 330pm on a Fri but was told it was 1am before I got to the unit and my bracelet had an admitted date of Saturday. Which at the end each day feels like minutes are hours. Oh yeah the cool big A/R guy that always has nice new shoes is super nice and Kinzie is badass too. Arkansas from unit 4 was soooooo much help I cant even say. I am bad with names but the BHA that worked for agency seemed to care more than most of the BHAs thst actually worked there. 85% of the staff are awesome but those 15% that shouldn't be there or are burnt out should not be there point blank. I mean that for all departments from janitors to even higher ups. Lastly Jason is some sort of Director of nurses or equivalent and he is not someone you wanna piss off. He can be your friend or your worst enemy but he is a good guy. And last lastly Lou gives straight to the point groups. He hates to be interrupted with people raiding their hands though. There are alot of positive others too. ARKANSAS IS UP AT THE TOP OF MY LIST!!! If smoking is cut out or reduced down to the rumored 3 breaks per 24hrs i will definitely go else where. Just the small changes made already mid visit were a nightmare. It had everyone in edge that we were told that one of the activity people was running late and as she showed up 1 min before us getting to smoke instead she got brutally moaned and groaned at that she became very sad that people didnt wanna see her. They have had a big turnover of nurses and reading other reviews is very discouraging as patients are finding that when they are finished with their care and feeling well enough to go home that the facility tries to keep them there longer than they should be in the hospital. read more

I was transferred there from Mercy after experiencing high anxiety and walking pneumonia. The experience was traumatic and in no way therapeutic. The facility is dirty and medications were not given in a timely manner. I never received my diabetes medicine before a meal which is when it is needed. There were a few caring nurses and aides, but the vast majority were unprofessional using profanity and showing no compassion or seriousness about their jobs. They openly complained about working there and always being short staffed. The floor housed male and female patients but the major issue was there were people with severe mental conditions like schizophrenia and extreme anger roaming the halls. There were people detoxing from drugs and alcohol. The "group sessions" consisted of coloring, word search and crossword puzzles, and games. There was on group explaining the use of Chakras which is demonic. There was a "karaoke" group with inappropriate song lyrics, and the television in the group room allowed R rated shows. It was impossible to get restorative sleep as the staff continued to talk loudly throughout the night, and across the hall was a schizophrenic who would sing and/or laugh hilariously throughout the night. I heard the F word more in 4 days than I have in the last 10 years. I am convinced it is a "money grab". I will be writing my state senators and the Medical Board. Never send anyone to this facility. read more

Recently my son was admitted there for depression for 5 days. Upon discharge we were informed he had to find his own psychiatrist . No referral . He was discharged without any paperwork . Social worker was not helpful in any way and very distant. We are beyond disappointed with the lack of care and concern. Would not recommend . Mlee read more

I was Involuntarily admitted. I've never been a suicidal person, and wasn't being there for detox. Frankly, I had no clue why I was there & still do not after 8 months now. This place is filthy, hold's people against their will, offers No counseling or therapy, is very dangerous and the medical staff were absolutely Not up to par. They lie, deceive & most of all threaten your life! I'm not exaggerating, In fact I cannot put into words how dangerous the people in charge really are. Mind you, the place would never pass a public safety check! They need to be held accountable for their actions, financial scams, and need to be audited for public safety! The blinds are closed 24/7 from within the windows, the bathroom shared by 4 people can be locked from the outside in..trapping patients at their will, not handicapped equipped at all, and you're not allowed any of your personal belongings including your phone, ever. They also withhold your meds, change your meds and give you other ones to screw up your mind in hopes you stay longer, for their favor (the longer you stay the more money they make). You are Not allowed to leave, even if you did not voluntarily come at will like me. This is Not a normal hospital nor mental hospital. There is Nothing normal about it! It's extremely abusive in all forms. *Please seek a reputable hospital of care if need be, because This one is nothing you'd even imagine! Some patients were saying how this place had gone way down hill just in the last few years. Apparently some had been there voluntarily before. For me, involuntarily there-was an absolute nightmare! And after getting out, my PTSD and Panic Disorder was totally out of control due to my experience there. I don't even remember chunks of time there, did I suffer from my seizures I wondered? At night, they use literal Spotlights that turn on at different times-so your brain is thinking it's "dawn" at 2 AM in the morning etc- So everyone's sleep pattern was off, depriving them of that necessity as well. Filthy. Poor quality of care. Don't give proper meds to the right people. They won't listen to the Dr who wanted you to go there. Don't watch over ones who need it the most. Fights all the time and they say can't do anything and send them out to smoke.. paperwork is either missing or marked wrong.. A lot wrong here and needs to be looked at by the medical board. Back in 2016(?), I was admitted here because the mental health hospital nearest to me was full. I high-fived someone before I was ever told the rules or anything, and that person was put in isolation. They were keeping someone who had a literal shattered leg from being given any form of painkillers. Someone was freaking out and they sedated them and locked them in iso. Since going here, I have been diagnosed with PTSD, which I had never had before going here. They are shockingly abusive to their patients. When I was admitted, they told me if I hadn't fallen asleep on my own they would strap me down onto the table in the isolation room and sedate me. A one star doesn't cover how lowly I think of this place, but it is the lowest I can give. I feel like I should expand a little bit. They also had made us walk through the snow in our socks, if we didn't have the "privilege" of shoes, then that was just too bad. There were two staff members who were nice to me. They made me sit out in the hallway instead of letting me sit in my room during one of the codes where everyone had to be put in their rooms for safety. I had to sit outside, in the hallway, on the floor, and if I started getting anxious, I guess they would have probably sedated me. On my second day there, while they were adjusting my meds, I had slept all day due to the meds knocking me out. Third day I heard the nurses actively insulting me while I walked past the nurse station. I thought that maybe, just maybe, this place would have changed. They did not. The e-mail they give you if you leave a google review just outright doesn't exist. They do not care about the people they take in, or how they leave in an infinitely worse state than before they were admitted. read more

For the love of life, DO NOT go here, do not put your family member here, RUN! The most horrific experience our family had with Centerpoint. From lack of communication with family, over-medicating, and medicating to cause outbursts that seem to only happen on the night before release. I thought we would NEVER get my grandson out of there. His 4-day observation went to two weeks and he slowly got worse EVERY SINGLE DAY. What saved my grandsons' life was an insurance company that noticed medication and charges that were not familiar with his condition. They called my daughter, had their doctors check things out, and miraculously. Two days later my grandson was home. It then took months to get my grandson back to where he is.. Today he is fine, with no struggles, no blank stares, no anger, no issues, and NO THANKS TO CENTERPOINT. Seriously RUN from any health provider that directs you to CenterPoint and Never put your family members or loved ones in their care. I hope they shutter that place down. I will tell EVERYONE how horrible they are and not stop until they are closed. read more

I spent two weeks in inpatient, leaving in a worse psychiatric state than I entered. While I was in Centerpointe, employees walked out, violence was a daily nuisance, meds were often administered at the wrong time as nurses were switched around units with little or no understanding of the patients in each unit. I am now swimming in claims for visits with doctors that were literally 15 second conversations in a hallway full of employees. Dr. Khann and especially Dr. Durante are both guilty of this. They will see you without checking your chart, asking questions you've answered many times to many employees. It is as if the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. Patients were discharged 3-4 days after their intended discharge due to absent supervisors, who are required to sign the discharge paperwork. Wallets and phones are lost, all belongings are handled by Jenny who is constantly rushed and at her wit's end. This is the state most of the employees were in. When we confronted various employees about the state of the hospital, we were directly told: "Look, we've recently been acquired. Everything is in disarray. This is not a good hospital. Please file grievance forms and report to your insurance companies because there is nothing we employees can do to get the attention of such a conglomerate. This is one hospital of many, and its profit margins are only growing." I drove myself and checked into this hospital in a terrible state. I truly wish I had driven just a few more miles to a more competent place. I am now working to get my prescriptions filled with no assistance from the hospital no referrals. When I switched units within the hospital, it wasn't even reported to my insurance. It was only after I left that I found out the claim would not be accepted. I spent thousands of dollars on this treatment and it was a total waste. read more

I would leave no stars if I could. I started the Outpatient IOP at CenterPointe in Weldon Springs, Mo this past August. I missed two days of the program due to being sick with a sinus infection, fever and throwing up. When I returned to the program the therapist Larry belittled me in front of the whole group yelling at me, standing up waving his arms around telling me I can't miss any days no matter if I'm sick or not. He went on yelling for roughly 5 minutes or more telling me if I didn't like what he had to say that I could leave. The group mind you is made up of people with anxiety, depression, PTSD and so forth. He then yelled your discharged. The patients are given 3 days they can miss, but can make up those days. I have no idea why he singled me out. He's supposed to be a "therapist". I found it odd that maybe he was bringing his personal problems to the office. read more

I am writing this review in hopes that someone sees and opts NOT to go here. It is truly an awful place, they basically exist to get money from insurance companies. The staff who were nice didn't make up for the staff who were downright cruel. I was there for 3 days and had to fight to get myself out, they want to keep you there for as long as possible. They told me it was for meds, but they didn't even give me anything until my second or third day. Other folks were so overly medicated they didn't even know where they were. This is not at all a good place. If I had the money for a lawyer I'd look into suing them AND the doctor who pushed me into going there. This place is a prison. The 7 horrible days I spent here were the most traumatic experience of my life. My sister brought me here for help on a Tuesday afternoon. I made it clear I was not actively suicidal nor had any desire to harm myself and was seeking outpatient therapy. During the intake process, the nurse claimed I was "in crisis" and threatened me with inpatient then said if I tried to leave, she would call the doctor to have me involuntarily committed all before she conducted a mental health assessment or I signed any paperwork. I signed in "voluntarily" due to coercion and threats from the intake staff. The process was not explained by anyone, and they physically pulled me away from sister as I was sobbing. I was led into a room and ordered to strip in front of 2 strangers then squat and cough in front of them. Then an ankle monitor was placed on me. It was -8 outside and they were out of shoes and sweatshirts. I was not given any of my medication even after seeing the medical doctor. The next morning, I saw the nurse practitioner for 10 minutes and was told I would have to stay until the following Monday because "weekends don't count" towards the 72-hour surveillance period. That morning a man had exposed himself to everyone in the unit and spit on people, there were several code greens called for aggression, and they shut off the phones as punishment. I was terrified, feared for my safety, and knew this was not where I needed to be for help. I voiced my concerns to the staff and nothing. When I was able to speak with my family, I told them what happened and that I wanted to leave. They were concerned and started a plan to come and get me. Later I was cornered by the nursing supervisor who pulled me into a room, closed the door, then proceeded to threaten me. She told me if my sister kept calling the hospital and saying she wanted to come and get me she would make sure I was placed on an "involuntary hold" and would also do this if I asked to leave. She told me I would be seeing a psychiatrist the next day for my care, but this was a complete lie, and I never saw a psychiatrist, only an NP. Following her threats I spoke with my sister who was on her way with the police to CenterPointe to get me out. I told my nurse I wanted to leave, and she told me she will have to call the nursing supervisor, and supervisor will call the doctor and put me on an involuntary hold. That is exactly what happened. The same nursing supervisor called an on-call doctor, who had never spoken to me or knew anything about me, had him sign a form and placed an order to put me on an involutory hold. She lied to the police and said I had tried to harm myself in the facility and that I was unstable. I was on the phone with my sister the entire time and heard everything. Unfortunately, they must do this all the time because they had a court avadavat signed and ready by the time she spoke with the police and within 10 minutes of me asking to leave. There was nothing my family or the police could do to help me. The nursing supervisor later came into my room to hand me my "involuntary rights" and said I didn't want to do this but you're family went too far. The next day I told my NP what happened, and she was shocked and angry. She immediately put me back as voluntary and wanted me moved to another unit. Due to this, I was not allowed to leave the unit that entire day and was not moved until 11pm that night. Of note, I finally received shoes, clean scrubs, and a sweatshirt 3 days after being there. They ran out of brushes, toothbrushes, towels, deodorant wipes, and lotion for days. The unit I was moved to was better and the staff was very kind, but none thought I should be there. My medications were never adjusted and I would see the NP for maybe 2 minutes each day. I was too afraid to do or say anything that would give them a reason to keep me longer as retaliation. Thankfully after an entire day of no communication from staff I was released late Monday night. Please do not take your loved ones here for help, it is not safe! read more

If I could give just one place negative stars, centerpointe hospital would be it. Due to the "care" I received, or lack thereof I left in a worse mental state than I was in when I admitted myself. Durning my week long stay, I only met with a therapist once. The entire stay they kept trying to put me on Lithium (multiple times a day that I declined because my external psychiatrist refuses to put people on it). The social worker I met with was horrendous and completely invalidating. I felt like a lab rat the whole time with all the random meds they were pushing and administering without even meeting with a doctor. It was extremely unclean as they rarely had extra clothes for us to change into, not even leaving the option for us to wear our own clothes. By day 5 of being in that excuse of a hospital, my boyfriend hired an attorney. Day 7 we had to use said attorney because they were not letting me leave when they said they would. The supervisor made me AMA myself so now my insurance will not cover my stay. read more

My daughter was admitted there on two different occasions and they never once called with an update. At the end of one of her stays - I was told I had 5 hours to come and get her or I was going to be charged with abandonment. I had no time to get services in place. They started her on meds without parental consent. The staff was incompetent and extremely rude, claiming I didn't care about my child. I wouldn't take anyone to this place, EVER! read more

Centerpointe put a child on a psychiatric medication and then did not follow up with the authorization needed after they released her from care. They have been contacted serval times over 4 days without follow up or follow through. Meanwhile a child is going through withdrawals which can be life threatening with this type of medication. Went to the Center point ER for chest pains. That was a walk into a 3rd world hell hole. I had to call the nurse several times to get unhooked to use the restroom and was ignored. I almost urinated myself until the doctor canme in. He ran and got someone. Then the forgot to hook my IV and was not allowed to eat or drink. And with no IV after 24 hours became quite hungry and kept requesting for sonething to drink. She would never get back to me as there was no reason because all me test were done. I finally requested to leave due to the neglect. They gave me my packet with only 1 test result. Bilirubin. Where are my labs? They took enough blood. Terrible hospital. People were laying all over the ER screaming. Dont ever go there go to North Kansas City or KU Hospital. read more

CenterPointe was absolutely useless for my son. LOADED him with drugs of all kinds. Made him a zombie. His officer asked who did this to him. I said CenterPointe. The officer thought some cheap/free rehab center had prescribed him all these meds. I went to visit him on a freezing cold February night and they had released him!! He was in his stocking feet, no suitcase,his stuff in a paper bag, no shoes! Dr Malik(?) (both) was useless. They all were. Nurse came to give the WRONG DAN R a Vivitrol shot. I admitted myself to CenterPointe on 10-3-23 for alcohol dependence. I was hopeful that this location would be able to help address my addiction. Had I known what kind of facility they were running there I would have never gone. While I was staying in detox my roommate was given my medication even though they charted that I had received it. Unfortunately this was not the only time medication errors occurred. When I was in residential the nursing staff missdosed my medication numerous times. Medication that I was only supposed to receive half a dose I was given full tablets. They did not pass medications by using a pyxis, but instead laid out paper ketchup containers on a cart and put meds inside cups to distribute. You never knew if you were receiving the proper medication. When I tried to bring up my concerns to the nursing staff I was told I "was crazy" and that I was "lying" about what they were doing. I left AMA at midnight and checked myself into Sana Lake and had the best experience there. Please do not go to this facility for help. There are so many people there with law suits against them for negligent care. read more

Had a loved one in there last year and it was an absolute nightmare. **If I ever needed help keeping an eye on someone overnight, I would call any in-home senior care (they will care for any age adult) -- only $30 an hour. The total will be comparable to just the deductible paid to this dungeon, only no harm would be done. read more

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. I've been wanting to write this review for 3 years so that I could make sure that I wasn't rushing to judgement and had thought of all the positives vs. negatives. I also am writing it due to wanting to help others make the right decision. I am one who always reads reviews; however, during one of the most important decisions in my life, I wasn't thinking clearly - I just needed help for the extreme grief and anxiety that I had a little over 3 months after Covid hit hard in 2020. THE GOOD: I met some decent people, one of which was singlehandedly responsible for helping me get through the week I had to spend there. THE BAD: Everything else, starting with the intake process, where they originally tried to separate me from my loved one - I told them I wasn't going to talk to them without his support. We got there at 10:30 in the morning because I voluntarily knew I needed help with my overwhelming anxiety. They kept us there until 6:30 (!!) at night at which time I finally was taken back to the unit. They told me they didn't have a spot for me in the proper unit so they put me in the Addiction unit - which would have been okay if they had been prepared for me. They (the nurses & nurse practitioner - NEVER saw a doctor the whole time) treated me as if I was an addict that didn't know what was good for me. was asked the same questions over & over every day by the NP (named Cheeto - yes, that was her real name) and then the whole week was spent trying to put me on as many drugs as possible. When I questioned why she would want to start another drug when I hadn't even been on the 1st one for a few days, she asked me why I was afraid of possible side effects and asked me if I believed everything I read. I am a professional woman who was already having negative side effects from what they first put me on, and her solution was to keep piling on the drugs. Oh, tremors? Here, take this blood pressure drug that's supposed to stop the tremors. Oh, you've only been on this drug for a few days, so you need to add this drug - it doesn't matter that you're already having bad side effects - so take more drugs. I watched this poor older woman who was walking & talking & eating by herself go to sleeping all day that they would have to wake her up, had to get her a wheelchair for the remainder of our time there, and couldn't feed herself - the nurses didn't care that she kept spilling drinks and couldn't get food to her mouth. She also couldn't communicate her wants/needs meaningfully. It looked like this woman had suffered a stroke, and this went on for days until I guess they found space in another unit or discharged her so they wouldn't have to take care of her. They should be ashamed of themselves - remember the Hippocratic Oath!!! The food was absolutely inedible - I was eating 15% probably at every meal. Like another review said, proper nutrition and good sustenance goes a long way to helping your mental outlook on things. The sleeping: it was a thin Kindergarten type mat on top of a wooden platform. I'm a side sleeper and it took at least a year for the hip bone pain that I had from these conditions to go away. The best part, one of the "aides/techs" that came around every 15 minutes when you're sleeping shined her flashlight directly in my face in the middle of the night waking me up. When I asked "Why?" she stated they're required to do so. I told her she was the only one that had ever done that and that one of the things I was in here for was Insomnia. She appeared to get a kick out of the fact that she had done this and was speaking to me with glee in her voice acting like she enjoyed her "power." This had to have been the same woman that had woken up the pregnant patient across the hall, making her cry and saying that she never should have been taking the drugs that she was while pregnant. The absolutely, most disgusting thing that happened: human waste from the toilets backed up & overran the hallways to where we were having to walk through liquid filth until they fixed it. They said this happened before (which must have meant several times) - we're not in a 3rd-world country!! Health Department violations were obviously going on, and they chose money over patients' health. They should have shut down that unit, but that would have meant 20 patients (at least) times (X) how many $XX,000 thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars would have been lost during repairs?? If this review helps one person out there, it will have been worth it, because I wish I would have read the reviews. Thank God that I am now in a better place (physically, spiritually & emotionally), no thanks to them. read more

Staff is downright cruel and abusive, especially the psychiatrists. I came here after a domestic violence incident where I was extremely traumatized and this place made everything so much worse. I'd rather take the risk of not treating my mental health than ever return to a facility again for fear of it being anything like centerpointe. Also they wouldn't let me leave for about 3 weeks even though I had checked myself in voluntarily. After being literally kidnapped during my incident, this did NOT help me. Do not take your child to Centerpointe! There's absolutely no communication with the families. You have to call multiple times to get someone to call you back. Sarah, my daughter's nurse practitioner was rude and condescending. She would not answer any of my questions and rushed me off the phone. I called the supervisor multiple times to report her and to have a new psych nurse practitioner assigned. He didn't even have the courtesy to call me back. He instead had this very uncaring social worker call me. They don't care about the patients or the families who are dealing with a mental health crisis. Centerpointe is a joke! read more

It's taken me so long to write this report as I'm still so distressed thinking about it! My adult daughter was admitted to this facility just over a year ago. Within days, they had shown her the family's written observations, thereby alienating her against us! They then stole all of her belongings including her clothes and memory stick! They offered very little support and they were extremely rude and unfriendly! I could go on, but in summary, I would NEVER encourage anyone to put a vulnerable person in this facility! Because of this experience, although my daughter still needed care, all the family agreed, that we would never have her institutionalized again! I sincerely hope my report spares another family from having to go through this ordeal! read more

Absolutely horrid. Numerous safety hazards, complete denial of reasonable accommodation if you are disabled. Put so many different pills in me, think i was taking like 9 different ones at a time , no idea what any of them were. Then they tried to hold me against my will and force me into CD when I all asked for was a medical supervised detox. They cut off all out going phone calls and would not let me have access to my mobile. If you want something out of a horror movie then go here. read more

I stayed here. It is a for-profit institution. I could say a lot about this place. The food there was so awful. One day they gave us 5 pieces of bread and fake eggs for breakfast. Ok it was four pieces of french toast and one piece of white bread. But still. 5 pieces of bread. All of the meals were as low if not lower in nutritional value. I share all of this because that's something I didn't think about before checking myself in. Nutrition is such a huge part of good mental health, so next time I need help, I'll be sure to try to find a place that values this as much as I do. They do exist I promise. Advocate BroMenn Medical Center is the first place I stayed and they have great food. I would highly recommend BroMenn over the place I stayed for round 2. read more

Terrible. My father was taken there for a sudden onset of mental illness. He was only allowed 2 sets of clothing or they provided paper gowns. The staff including the case worker would not communicate with family members period. Even after my father specifically gave them permission to speak with certain family members about his treatment. After he contracted covid while staying there he was transferred to a medical hospital but centerpoint list the two sets of clothes we sent for him. I would send my worst enemy to this facility. read more

I can't believe how my wife has declined in this place. I've reached out to give a more detailed patient history but the doctor says his "style" is to treat the patient as he sees them. They will load you up on dangerous antipsychotic drugs. If you want to have input on what medications have helped you the best in the past they will ignore you. Doctor is condescending, closed minded, and short sighted. God help you if you are admitted to this place, makes you wonder if compassionate care is available in America. If I can't turn to a hospital for help where can I turn? My wife will be discharged more suicidal and hopeless than when I brought her in.......but they will almost certainly refuse to give her the medication regimen that she flourished so well on in the past. This is just sick and heartbreaking.......of course they could care less, get them in and get them out and to hell with them if they don't get better. I am appalled. We needed real help and we've gotten harm. read more

My son was there because he was not med compliant. He was suppose to get a long acting shot but they didn't know that until 3 days in. They did not read his chart. No one knew what the other shift did or didn't do. When you ask for information about a treatment they give you the wrong info. They just say well I didn't know. They did not do any of the testing they promise. You never know what the plan is. I don't think they really have one. Unfortunately there are very few of these places around so you have to settle for their uncaring service. Not to mention you have to get permission from the state to get certain treatments that would improve the symptoms he is experiencing. I have given up hope. read more

this place has conditions that are worse than a litteral jail. the staff are really awful to the patients and they treat the mentally ill with no respect. the doctors dope you up and you receive absolutely no mental health care. if you wanna send someone that's mentally i'll into a small confined room where all they can do to pass time is stare at the celeing then go for it. going to this place made me alone and even more depressed. the only happy moment i had in that place was when they said i could finally leave. read more

The most terrible place you can go to. I wasn't even suicidal and my mom forced me to go. The nurses don't even treat you like human beings. There are bugs literally crawling around everywhere. I still wake up in the middle of the night crying because I would have a nightmare about my experience. If you or someone is in need of help do not take them here, it will make it much worse. It does more harm than good because in order to get discharged you have to make it appear as if you're getting better. read more

I recently had an individual (a soldier) checked in here. There is legitimately no system in place. None of the nurses can give me a straight answer about whether he was gonna be out. The doctor was evasive and non responsive to my concerns. This place needs help, not the people. read more

This facility is horrible! I was there for about two weeks for nothing. The doctor I was assigned to, I only saw him twice. The food was okay, except for the eggs, it made my roommates and I horribly gassy. Also some of the rooms were 4 to a room. I had bruises from the staff. read more

I am tired of seeing people write reviews because they are angry, ungrateful, and downright spoiled. I have been to CenterPointe Hospital several times, whenever I need help it is the first place I will go. Almost everyone on staff has a degree in psychology, they truly care about people. Dr. Malik is a genius. I recently saw him at the facility and he remembered facts about my life from 3 years ago, things that weren't even in the records. I went in for help with depression. I talked 30 min with a counselor before I checked in. I actually was able to tell her more than I was with their "professionals". I was given certain meds than left me feeling wiped out. I only talked to "professional" once. An didn't leave office feeling like I shared anything. The rest of time I slept for a week. There is no clear plan for anyone. I watched the others in for addictions just walk around, have sexual interludes, etc. They had group meetings in small room so kinda chaotic. There were no groups for depression. So I got no more attention than that one meeting They wouldn't even let me have my hairbrush. So by Thursday I asked to be let go Fri. They said they couldn't I needed more " help". If I got anymore of their help, well I would have been crazy. So they weren't going to let me even tho I had checked myself in. So Fri I wrote a letter stating how I felt an like I felt kidnapped. Well that got me out. An immediately treated like shit. So don't go here if you really have a problem. WARNING!!! Stay away from CenterPointe Hospital in Weldon Springs, MO. My loved one was recently a patient there, and I use the term patient loosely. It was more like an incarceration than a treatment program. My loved one suffers from depression and anxiety. She was a self-admit but after a week in the hospital, asked to be discharged. The nurse practitioner (NOT DOCTOR) said he would not discharge her, and if she persisted, he would make her an involuntary patient. She was NOT a danger to herself or anyone else, and I believe the law requires that for a patient to be involuntarily admitted to a mental health hospital they must be either suicidal or homicidal. The staff refused to communicate on a regular basis with family members. Myself and the patients parent left numerous messages for the social worker and doctor to call us. I only received two calls during her nearly two-week stay at CenterPointe, and the calls provided very little detail as to the treatment and diagnosis. All the nurse practitioner did was put her on more medications which now have her in a perpetual stoned state. My loved one had been a patient at another St. Louis area mental health hospital and during her three-day stay there, I received daily reports from her doctor and therapist. They were very communicative with family members at that hospital, CenterPointe was NOT. I believe CenterPointe Hospital appears only concerned about insurance money, not proper patient care. read more
