I didn't even have enough time to look at everything so I'm already planning my trip back! They have a lot of really cool "coast"-themed items. I already have plans to bring my mother back when she's in town because I know she will adore the spoons they have made from seashells! They also have the BEST greeting cards! I'm not even kidding! I almost bought them all! They were all so funny and perfect for so many occasions! The staff in the store are friendly and fun. If I was at home, I would be chilling in my shorts and t-shirt with my feet up. I have a feeling they might frown upon that sort of thing here. Maybe At Store would be a more appropriate name. What does that to do with this review? Not much, but occasionally I type whatever enters my brain and you're stuck deciding whether to keep reading or not. I have been to this store a few times. The first time was when I was shopping for patio furniture and was a disaster. The second visit I was looking for a rug that would really tie a room together, and it was slightly less of a disaster. This store is massive. Imagine a Home Depot or Lowes sized store. Inside it is filled with a massive amount of home items. Everything from accent pieces, rugs, furniture, pillows, stuff I don't know what it was, mirrors, etc. was available. It was honestly a little overwhelming. Earlier I mentioned the first trip being a disaster and now I will elaborate. I was looking for a patio set that would be comfortable, durable, and available. This was my third stop of the day in my quest for a patio set. After sitting in about ten different chairs I found one that was perfect. It was super comfortable and affordable. The problem was that there was only one on display and I needed two or a couch in the space I had. When I went and sought an employee out you would of thought I asked for her first born child. Actually I think it would have been easier to get a first born child because she pretty much blew me off. I tried another employee and it was pretty much the same. The third told me she would call someone so I waited, and waited, and waited. I eventually said some expletives to myself and chunked up the deuce (shoutout Lil' Keke). I didn't ever want to come back. But I did. Why, you ask? Well after finding a less awesome set of patio furniture, I decided I needed a rug. I remembered from my first trip that this store had an enormous amount of rugs. Now look, I don't really know a lot about rugs. I seriously just needed one to put on the patio because I saw someone else with one and thought it was a good idea. The good news about the rugs here is that you can hoist one over your shoulder, pay for it, and roll out. No employee help needed. So that's what I did, and it all worked out. Plus the cashier was pretty friendly this time. Sweet!

That was the only tag on the item. I asked the lady to hold it for me while I looked around. When I was ready to check out the lady was looking for the price. I told her it was on the tag in the corner and it was marked $6.99. Unbelievably the tag was gone. Another lady came up and said that was the price the vendor had paid. Well that was the only tag on it and someone had torn it off and not said a word to me about it as if I hadn't seen it. The lady called the vendor who said she was not going to sell the item. The lady who called the vendor was rude and said she'd rather not sell the item than not make any money from it. This is not the way that a legitimate business conducts itself. Any other business would have sold the item for the marked price and made sure in the future to have the correct price on the items it intends to sell. I like to support our small businesses, but I will no longer support Vintage Flamingo. I just can't get over the fact that they torn off the tag and then acted like there wasn't a tag on it! Amazing thrift store with a 100% tax donation rate and money that goes to "fatherless & widows"…read more This thrift has an upscale antique store vibe with true thrift prices and some of the nicest people volunteering that I met in Mississippi. This small 2000 sq foot building felt huge with everything in an organized and room by room section. Mentioned that I would post a review to help them and the lady started pointing out her favorite things and even staging them on the shelf for pics! You get a "First Time Shopper" discount of $10 off when you spend at least $30, which is something that demonstrates the win-win feeling I got walking out of this small non-profit. I will be back and will encourage everyone I know to visit this hidden gem!!
