They have many varieties of raw milk cheeses inspired by European favorites like Manchego. More recently, we tried a really interesting one made with an IPA from Ocean Lab brewery in Isla Verde. The Montebello is my personal favorite, but I have never had a cheese I didn't like from here. The shop is a few minutes detour from the expressway, but the easy parking situation, comfortable ambience and friendly staff, make it a nice pit stop. Be prepared to spend some cash for these cheeses, but I love supporting a local, agricultural business in PR. I would love to try their tours and make your own cheese experiences, but these are super pricey at around $100 per person: spendy even after factoring the cheese and wine offered. Would be nice if they could make these more accessible.

They craft five cheese varieties, named after the neighborhoods in Puerto Rico where some of the cows graze. Made from raw milk and aged for a minimum of 60 days or longer. The milk used for the cheese is free of antibiotics and hormones. The place is nicely decorated and friendly staff, we had the cheese sampler that includes the 5 flavors was really good and well presented.

Chorizo and Spanish risotto was ok, never found chorizo or chicken. The place is beautiful, life music was so nice. Cocktails are very good. Fast forward and we had a Welcome Reception for our destination wedding at Juana La Loca. Not only did George and his team exceed all of OUR expectations, several groups of our guests were so impressed by the food/drinks that they went back to the restaurant while in PR. I could go on and on about the food, the service, and the beauty of the restaurants but sometimes it's the little things that make a huge difference. For example, when I couldn't get a sign for the party made and shipped in time--George made it happen. Or when our guests wanted to turn the reception into karaoke--George/his team made it happen. I'm pretty sure George even greeted each of our guests himself. All in all, George and the Juana La Loca team exceeded all of our expectations!

I came here to celebrate my birthday and unfortunately, they fell short in every possible category. The layout is a major issue. We paid the $10 per person fee for the piano room, only to be squeezed in elbow-to-elbow with strangers. The tables are so tiny I literally had to eat out of my lap to avoid spilling food on my clothes. Even the basic facilities were a struggle; the women's bathroom was so cramped and unaccommodating that I could barely even sit down. When we asked to move to a more comfortable space, the hostess and waitress refused, citing nearby reservations. The kitchen and service were equally disappointing. After waiting over an hour for our entrees, the food arrived mediocre and tasteless. The steak had zero seasoning, and the mashed potatoes were dry and flavorless--essentially just a boiled potato thrown on a plate. The service was the final straw. When I tried to flag down a server to send the potatoes back, he told me he would "get her." When our waitress finally arrived, I explained the issue and she simply replied, "I know." No apology, no offer to bring something else, and no effort to make it right. To be met with that level of rudeness on my birthday was shocking. This was a complete waste of time and money--I won't be returning.
