There was adequate parking for us to turn around plus park the boat. No lights around the parking area but there are cameras outside which is good. We didn't go look at the outdoor amenities. We had an upstairs room. Tv with cable, full kitchen, dining table, sheets on the bunks and towels in the bathroom. (The bath faucet had lime scale on it). Smelled a bit like someone smoked in there. My bed was extremely squeaky. Nice place overall. I would stay again. The water tower helped us locate the cabin if we were turned around.

We stayed here in April which is not a peak season so we were the only visitors here. The owner (Clay) lives very close to the cabins and is available by phone anytime you need him. He is really friendly, a wealth of information about the area and provides charter fishing trips. The fishing in the area is great! We almost limited out on speckled trout before 9:00 am on our first morning out! You can buy live shrimp and also marine fuel right there at the lodge. Take all the food, ice and other supplies you need because the closest place to restock is about 25-30 minutes away. The only issue I had was that I am a little OCD about a clean room and it really needs a good dusting all the way up the vaulted ceilings. Besides that it was great. The boat ramp is a little tricky because it's short but we managed to get our bay boat in and out with no problems. During the week we left it docked at the cabin and only trailered it when we left. There are plenty of supplies to rinse your boat off as well as nice cleaning stations to clean your catches each day. We take ziplock bags, filet the fish out and freeze them as we go. We took home an RTIC 45 full of fish fillets and only fished 3 days! We will be back!

Prior to the trip, Josh was honest about conditions and the bite. It wasnt the best news but I apprecited his honestly. Day 1, inshore - Josh picked us up from our floating house and had us on fish as the sun rose. As a Captain, Josh managed the perfect balance between being helpful, while still giving you some independance to catch your own fish; which I apprecited. I have had guides in the past that hook a fish and pass you the rod, not Josh (although I am sure he would do whatever you ask if that is your style). We did very well on reds, flouder and speckeled trout. Day 2 , offshore- Captain Zack picked us up from the Cypress Marina. His first mate gave us some very much apprecited suggestions on where to sit in the boat while traveling offshore. Zack and the first mate hustled to catch bait. Watching them work the cast nets was an experience of its own. I will admit the boat ride was "intense" due to it being pretty rough water but I never felt unsafe. The Captain and boat were both very capable. On location, we hooked a few shark but no Tuna. There were several other boats in the area and I never saw anyone land any fish, just cutting sharks off. Even though fishing was slow, the crew never stopped hustling. We eventually left the Tuna spot and looked for Swordfish. We hooked three swordfish and landed one. I will say, the swordfish really made up for the lack of tuna! All and all, you get what you pay for. This trip isnt cheap and it is not for the weak but if you want to catch fish and get back alive, I would go with Intensity Outiffters.
