The proximity to I 95 offers a nice stopover…read morefor travelers however, beyond that there's not much in the immediate area (both the national seashore and Kennedy space Center are a bit of a drive). The reception area offers very limited convenience items, and while the folks that greeted at the front desk were nice, they were clearly sick and unmasked (coughing in customers faces) and no sign of a yellow KOA shirt to identify personnel. From our perspective, we're starting to see that many of these campgrounds have stopped catering to the short term camper/travelers that are not in 40+ foot self-contained rigs ( ie not using centralized amenities). The trailer or camper parking spaces are concrete which is a plus and include a nice picnic table and barbecue grill. Cabins and tent Camping on the grass is also available in the park. Cable hook up is also available. The electric and water were in good working order at our site. Some spaces are a little larger and offer fire pits for an additional fee. The reason we cannot give them a higher rating, is the condition of the bathrooms and general security surrounding the Campground. While the large bathrooms have key code door locks, they were inoperable most of the time, and there is nothing (fence, gate, security guard) to prevent outside traffic and foot traffic from entering the campground. We observed Campground outsiders/transients utilizing bathrooms and laundry facilities unchecked. The showers were spacious enough in the central facility, but temperature regulation (ice cold or scalding hot) and/or water pressure was nonexistent with hot water not available in several of the shower stalls. The ladies handicapped bathroom door lock was broken. Bathrooms available by the poolside are open to the public, not clean, and the men's bathroom door appeared to have been kicked in and gone unrepaired for some period of time. These were reported to the front desk, but nothing had been done before we left. The entire facility needs a once over on the maintenance side and a good cleanup. There is no garbage pick up service at the individual campsites that is typically found at other KOAs. All trash must be hauled to the front entry of the campground. I would say that this location is OK if you're looking for a night or two stop on a journey , or for someone who has their own rig and does not plan on using the central bathrooms, beyond that I would suggest you consider alternative options. This location is not a standard representation of the KOA brand.

It's a KOA and it not so far from what I expected…read more Location - Exit 223 off I-95 in Mims, Florida. - There are two convenient stores /gas stations within a few hundred yards of the entrance one just after exiting the interstate and one prior to the entrance ramp on reentry to I-95. Noise Level: yes I can hear the traffic from the interstate traffic when my air conditions aren't running so I'm sure if you're in a tent or in a cabin it could be somewhat annoying. Much of the noise I noticed was the sound of kids running on the play ground screaming with laughter or splashing in the pool - this wasn't so annoying to me, it actually reminded me of my childhood when I spent countless weekends camping with my family. If I wanted total silence I guess I'd find a deserted beach or boon-dock in some remote wilderness area, those are amazing moments too but not the norm at a family camp ground so set reasonable expectations and you may look at this place differently. Accommodations: Tent Camping - Cabins - Back-in or Pull-through sites for practically any size Motor-Coach or Camper. I paid under $100.00 for a premium site for my 38' Coach with all the hook-ups (50 Amp Electrical Service, Water, Dual Sewer Connections and Cable) from Saturday at 12:00 PM until Monday at 12:00 PM - they have a store, they have a laundry facility, showers and bathrooms if you need them. They have a playground for the kids and a giant pool. Most of the sites are shady and concrete, with a picnic table and are nicely landscaped. There are plenty of trash bins next to the office and they even have a clothing donation kiosk if you are feeling charitable. What could be better: The roads are paved, gravel or dirt depending on where your site is - the roads are narrow and the turns are tight (you may want to unhook the toad before going to your site) your guide will meet you at check-in and take you to your site, my guide was Eric he stayed until I parked and he explained the hook-ups. Your neighbors may be a little close but all I encountered were friendly. Wildlife and Domestic Animals: I met a few friendly squirrels and noticed one cat that seemed to be friendly - I didn't encounter any feral cats or barking dogs. I did encounter a small lizard but he was friendly too. All in all no complaints here...

Dedicated in July 1994 through a partnership between the City of Titusville and the U.S. Space Walk of Fame Foundation, the 2.63 acre park honors not only the astronauts who made history but also the thousands of engineers, technicians, and support personnel whose work made the nation's space program possible. Space View Park is located on the Indian River, less than 15 miles directly across from the launch pads at Kennedy Space Center. This gives the park outstanding views of rocket launches while serving as an outdoor museum celebrating the achievements of the U.S. space program. It is the only park where you can walk through the entire history of the manned missions that launched from nearby Kennedy Space Center. The idea for the Space Walk of Fame began in 1988 when a local physician proposed creating a project to preserve the history of America's space program. That vision led to the formation of the Space Walk of Fame Foundation and eventually to the creation of Space View Park as the centerpiece of the memorial. Over the years, the park has grown with the addition of several large monuments. The Mercury Monument, featuring the astronauts' handprints, was dedicated in 1995, followed by the Gemini Monument in 1997. The Space Shuttle Monument was added in 2002 to recognize the workers who supported the shuttle program, and after eight years of planning and construction, the Apollo Monument was completed and dedicated in 2007. In addition to the monuments there is a restroom, boardwalk, picnic pavilions, benches, and a 85 foot pier for fishing. The park was also designed to treat stormwater. Runoff from the surrounding 114 acres of commercial property is captured in a wet detention pond that prevents sediment and floating trash from entering the Indian River Lagoon. It also removes nutrient that would harm the ecosystem of the lagoon. The park has free street parking but no shade so try not to come on a day when it is 105 degrees out like I did. The Gemini monument requires a short walk and it is much easier when it is not so hot out. Space View Park adjoins Veterans Memorial Park on the Indian River waterfront, where you can often find manatees in the colder months. I found this park to be a meaningful place to reflect on the remarkable accomplishments of America's space program while enjoying one of the area's most scenic waterfront settings. Linda and Del are great, very friendly and reasonably priced. The location is fantastic, right on the water with great views. The sunrises are spectacular! And the dolphin are almost always playing around in the channel. They have full hook ups, including 50 AMP service, WI-FI, cable hook ups, showers and on site laundry facilities if you need them. So, whether your stay is for RV camping, fishing or renting one of their on site cabins, I recommend trying Mosquito Lagoon! It will be a fun stay.

They have so many different animals to spend time viewing and feeding. The types of animals you will get to see are turtles, a lynx, a Florida panther, goats, raccoon, birds, tortoises, lemur, macaque, obviously alligators of all sizes and more. We attended the show hosted and guided by Alex who was very informative and great at her job. She brought out various animals for us to hold and pet while talking about each one and the ability to answer any questions that came her way. We got to experience animals up close and personal that we would never have the opportunity to outside of being in the wild. Alex also led the alligator feeding show with the same level of professionalism and intellect as the indoor animal show. I highly recommend watching the gator feeding, they can get about half their huge bodies out of the water and they know their given names. In addition to the animal shows, Alex also led the boat tour. Absolutely get on the water and cruise around, don't sweat which side of the boat to sit on because you will get to experience both sides of the shoreline during the cruise. There is also a jungle nature trail to walk through that takes you through a real Florida swamp where you will see gators up close in their natural habitat and other animals like frogs, lizards and anything else that may exist in that environment. Becca at the front register was very sweet and helpful and was even willing to go out of her way to snap a few photos of us on my phone when we asked her to. The gift shop has tons of stuff to purchase as a souvenir and they also have drinks and snacks as well as an indoor seating area to cool off if it gets too hot out. I highly recommend you visit and support Jungle Adventures if you want to experience the quickly disappearing old and authentic Florida us Floridians love and want to preserve.

We came here so we could see full size alligators and learned that we weren't seeing the bigger ones out because it was too hot out and they prefer to hang out at the bottom of swamps to stay cooler. I saw so many large alligators here! They have about 200 of them here. We got to see them getting fed and learned how smart they are. I loved our guide who made our experience here that much better. He was very funny and informative. He took us on a boat ride and he also gave us the option to hold a baby alligators and a tarantula. I held the baby alligator but opted out of holding the tarantula even though she seemed very nice.
