With a gooseberry cheese cake, cheese and biscuits, coffees and a brandy, the bill came to £105 for 2 people. This is the perfect restaurant for special occasions or a romantic meal for 2.

I had red mullet to start, lamb as a main, and pear tart to finish, couldn't fault a thing. The service was spot on, attentive but not over bearing. The wine list had some reasonably priced bottles. I'd recommend that you do make a reservation as they limit the number of seatings to ensure good service. Starters. I had a fabulous delicious stuffed red pepper. My colleague enjoyed the beetroot and orange cured salmon. Nicely plated, perfectly prepared, I was sad to see them go. That is, until the mains arrived. I had ordered a the sirloin steak, which was a 10 or so ounce piece of perfect medium-rare on top of new potatoes, beans and mushrooms. If it weren't impolite, I would have licked the plate. My colleague's grilled tuna looked divine. Dessert was a vanilla bavois (sort of like triffle or gelatin, but... different) with roasted peaches was excellent. The cheese plate looked good, with grapes and sliced apple. A fantastic wine selection as well as bottled beers and Bitburger on draft complimented our choices. Service and timing was good without rushing us or being over-attentive. The total was a bit high, but it was a great meal and a great value. Two starters, two mains, a beer, three glasses of excellent wine. All told, £65.

Comfortable and modern surroundings, the service is speedy and friendly. We were here with about 40 workmates to celebrate a project milestone. The staff was great at refilling drinks and the trays of Thai appetizers went down really well.

We did order a drink and then moved on to another place that was properly staffed and hopefully going to have service with a smile or at least without a bad attitude. Haven't been back. Not saying wouldn't give it another shot, I'm sure we will, but we aren't pining to walk back through those doors.
