It was a late start to the day, so I wanted to have something filling for breakfast. But I also needed free wi-fi, so here we are at Figaro's. I usually order the Chicken a la Kiev but it was not available that day. I went with the counter crew's recommendation which is Figaro's Honey Glazed Bacon and Egg Breakfast Meal. For P210+ (with brewed coffee and free unlimited wi-fi access), I think this combo is good value for money. Two sunny side up eggs on top of several slices of thick cut bacon, served on top of thick slices of potato bread. (Normally, Figaro uses focaccia bread, which was also out of stock that day.)
Figaro is very generous with its bacon on this particular dish. Hindi bitin sa bacon. However, it is not the usual bacon. It is not crispy, and it is rather sweet, and has very little of the saltiness or smokiness that bacon is known for. It reminds me of tocino somehow. But still really good, in my opinion.
The dish is topped with a spoonful of finely chopped tomato and bell pepper. So unnecessary, if you ask me.
Another thing that might make this dish more successful would be to give diners the option to have iced tea with their meal instead of offering only coffee. read more
