Before I came to Manila, my husband used to have lunch every single day at Figaro because it's just "next door" to his work. When I arrived, he invited me to grab a coffee with him there so I would finally know the "famous" restaurant where he used to spend his lunchtime. Well, it didn't disappoint me, but it was not an outstanding experience.
Considering the interiors, the feeling I have is that Figaro somehow has frozen in time. But in some period of history that I really like. There's this old-parisian-cafe vibe that sounds nice to me. Actually I have mixed feelings about that. Sometimes I feel like inside that movie "Goodbye, Lenin!", sometimes inside Woody Allen's "Midnight in Paris". Depends on my mood ;P
When it comes to the food, my feelings are more uniform: it's tasty, but not amazing. I always have the Chicken a la Kiev. Despite the picture on display, you can choose other sauces for your pasta (my constant choice is pesto spaghetti!). There's a promo there so you order your meal and get a free ice tea.
The only occasion I had something different then the ice tea was this day when my husband invited me for a coffee. I've ordered a cappuccino, but I really regret it. It tasted like instant cappuccino mix with milk :( No latte art, nothing really special. Although I recommend the food, I wouldn't pair it with a cappuccino, definitely. read more
