While this review is specific to the Hinsdale branch, I actually opened this account when I lived in Florida as a secondary account and the Tampa branch (on Kennedy) was great as well. My old bank (a credit union) must have been for people who managed small amounts of money because everytime I needed larger amounts of money ($9000 or more out of MY account to pay contractors, etc) I had to tell them days in advance. WHAT? It's my money. Give it to me! Or how about when the teller commented on the size of a check I deposited (big or small). Hey- none of your business! Bank of America does none of this and for that I am happy. When you walk into the physical bank, you are always greeted- sometimes by name, and directed to a teller who quickly takes care of your needs. Not feeling like interacting with a person? Use their ATM- they were one of the first to eliminate the envelopes for deposits, instead, giving you a copy of the check that the machine usually automatically reads (unless the check has bad penmanship on it and then you have to enter in the amount). And they have a wide network of ATM's for me to use. I love to bank on line and their website is easy to navigate and my bills are quickly and easily paid. It is easy to move money between accounts and I can pay my mortgages electronically just by pushing a button. Never thought I'd be reviewing a bank on here. But if you live in the area, I'd suggest you take a look at Bank of America. You'll be pleased that you did.
