I called Joe at Andes Stone Services because he did an excellent brick repair on the front corner of my house previously. He did a great job on the cinder block repair. It looks like new. He asked if I had any other little jobs he could help with so I thought of my patio stairs. The foundation under my patio stairs was falling away with time so Joe put new foundation under the patio blocks and made them even across. They look like new now. They would have become a hazard with uneven blocks on the stairs, but Joe fixed them and now they look like new! He did 2 great jobs today that makes my home look better and safer. Thanks again Joe! FSBD finished the (electrical part) needed by County to my 1/2 finished basement work now…read morecompleted, passed by a County inspection. Updated 3/8/22 The owner of FSBD contacted the previous owner's son, to finish the expired permit work. FSBD opened permit for work, but FSBD did not do any of the work, drywall in the basement. FSBD only did the electrical work in the basement. FSBD quickly completed the electric work. The county had assumed informed me the permit work was all done by FSBD. Actually, drywall was done by the home previous owners, son's business, it needed firewall. I gave FSBD the review of 5 stars. I appreciate their attention to contact the previous owner and finally got my basement work finished. Thank you!

My elderly father contacted First State Building & Design to get an estimate on a kitchen…read morerenovation. After several weeks of back and forth, a representative for FSBD instructed my father to provide a $5,000 deposit to secure a spot on their schedule; after that, FSBD would send over a contract. After receiving the contract, which he never signed, my father had several concerns about the language it used (particularly regarding indemnification). A different FSBD rep told him the contract language couldn't be changed, so my father let the company know via e-mail that he was going to go with a different contractor and asked for his deposit back. There was no response from FSBD for several days. By the time someone did get back to him, my father had signed a contract with another company. However, FSBD refused to give back the deposit. At that point, I stepped in (I'm a lawyer). FSBD still wouldn't return the money, so we filed an action against them in small claims court. There was a trial, and the judge agreed with us and entered a judgment against FSBD. The judge instructed the company to return the entire $5,000 plus court costs. However, the owner still won't return the money, in violation of the Court's Order. In short, I wouldn't recommend this company on account of its dishonest business practices.

We recently moved into the area and had transferred the propane service the previous owners had…read more Our contract is nearing expiration and we received a renewal notice from them wanting us to pay a fee to continue our leveled payment plan and then said they were raising the price of propane to almost $4 a gallon. ("Due to rising fuel prices.") We decided to call around and Rhoads sent a team of two people out to look over our tanks and go over what things we use propane for. After talking to the team, they presented us with a contract that didn't require a sign-up fee each year and a gas price of almost half the one the former company wanted us to pay. Very grateful for the excellent customer service on the phone that led to the great team coming out.
