Last winter I commissioned her to paint a portrait of my daughter and her beloved kitten. All I had was a dark picture that my kid just loved, so I forwarded it to Jessica and crossed my fingers that she could create something beautiful. The results were jaw-dropping! I could not be more impressed with her handling of light, color and balance. We asked Fife Studios to do a portrait of our cocker spaniel, Dorothy. My wife and I had wanted to do something like that for years. The final product was levels above our expectations. Jessica knew what our Dorothy meant to us and expressed it in her art. A true tribute and artwork that we will proudly own and display.

I commissioned Jess to paint a piece based on a scene from a novel. I'd seen her work in peoples' homes, at various art shows, and on other custom pieces (her moto helmets are especially impressive!), and I knew she would be more than able to recreate the surreal imagery as it was written. It still blew me away when she showed up with the canvas, these photos are my best attempts to share it but they don't do it justice at all. It's a large piece, 40"x30" and there is so much detail! My particular request was for a "nebula-type sky" and she absolutely nailed it. We had texts going back and forth pretty regularly in the initial planning stage (since a visual reference didn't really exist) and she would check in with sketches and examples to make sure her vision continued to line up with what I had in mind for the finished piece. I cannot recommend her enough, she's the one you want. Thanks again, Jess!!

My husband bought the first piece about ten years ago- a portrait of Elvis Costello. The detail is unbelievable! The second piece is something we commissioned, another portrait, this time of a monk holding a skull. Jessica took the idea and ran with it. Jessica is an incredible artist who brings out the greatest qualities of her subjects. She has an ability to translate a moment into a feeling and a memory, bringing an emotional response that can't be described. It was obvious when working with Jessica that she was invested in the project, I never once had to ask how the piece was coming along and would instead get progress updates which were always a delight. Jessica surprised me on my birthday with a mini-painting of my cat, Batman. I was floored. The detail she caputured in such a tiny painting and the thoughtfulness behind it is a testament to not only her talent as a painter - but also to her heart. My mom saw the painting and immediately wanted Jessica to paint our other family pets. A few weeks later, I was able to deliver the painting. She sat stunned as her eyes filled up with tears. A coworker of mine first introduced me to the talents of Fife when our teammate lost their furry pal and Fife painted the memorial portrait. I was floored. Fast forward a year and my best friend's blind basset lost his battle with cancer. I knew exactly what I wanted to do for her. Fife not only captured Bernie's sweet demeanor in the painting - The brightness of the colors and attention to every detail made it feel like he could pop right off the canvas. When I went to pick it up from Fife, I walked up and stopped in my tracks and started to cry the minute I saw it. Her talent is incredible. (And side note - my friend boohooed as well when she opened her gift, lol). Fast forward one more year and my step sister was looking for a custom piece of art for her mother's birthday. it was a unique ask - and Fife NAILED IT. I'm amazed daily following Fife on Insta and seeing the art she produces. To get into semantics, the price was BEYOND reasonable for the gift of her talents and the joy her work brings to everyone who sees it. And my timetable was a little fast, not ideal but she made it happen. I could not recommend her high enough...she's one of a kind. Extra points or also being a stellar human. read more

I requested Jess to do a goofy portrait of me and my brother for our birthday (we share the same one). Not only did she get it done on a tight deadline, but she knocked it out of the park. She nailed our faces, and facial expressions, which seems borderline miraculous to me, but also added the sense of humor we were going for. 11/10 would pose again read more

Friendly, Personable and Talented are the words I'd use to describe Fife Studio's. They made a custom cake topper for my wedding cake and it turned out great. I told them the theme of the wedding, Day of the Dead, and they found some different ideas online so I could show what I liked. Once we decided on something they made the whole topper to match the wedding colors. They also surprised us with a matching "Day of the Dead" dog to match our real life dog. They did a great job and helped make our wedding day awesome. read more

When it came to celebrating the wedding of my two favorite people there was only one person in mind to commemorate the day itself. Jessica fife is a great friend and artist and I'm not being bias. I have commissioned her on lots of projects and also the business where i work. My moms cat recently passed and i had her paint him. Brought my mom to tears and i too. Not only is she professional she also has great contracts made up so her and the clients are protected and happy! what a great idea! she is thorough and ask lots of questions and also does a small pre drawing so you know you and her are on the same page. Last month the owner of the salon i work at had her paint a peacock and its so beautiful and I'm so happy its right by my station so i have something fresh to stare at. Jessica also was teaching art at cal state fullerton so you know she knows what she is talking about and has passion for it. I also commissioned her to make a cake topper for me for my friends baby shower cake. It was beautiful and made from ceramic and all the detail was just spot on like the picture i showed her. From the second we sat down the secretary started giving us dirty looks. Our clients happen to be neurodivergent. As we did our Valentine's Day cards We observed her photographing us without our consent. The secretary denied she did this. We were making Valentine's Day cards the entire time and our clients were behaving very appropriately (not that it matters anyway). After the owner of my company thanked the secretary for such great art supplies the secretary proceeded to say that we were weird for meeting there. When my owner asked if this was not a free space on Friday's for crafts the secretary proceeded to say that our group made her specifically made her uncomfortable. There is no way we can ever return here with this secretary present. She clearly let us know we were not welcome there!

Two years ago I encountered this gallery and saw the exhibit, Staying Curious, by Stephen Schlegel…read more It was depicted as an event that will make your eyes smile. I didn't stay long yet I was captivated. Stephen was there and we talked briefly about his art work. He gave me some M&M candies with an imprint of his logo. 2021 I revisited this gallery and was moved by the new art work and photographs. I saw Stephen again but he looked different in his photograph. He was in military attire. As always, his sculpture beside his photograph looked playful and made the eyes smile. I talked to Toni and Shane at the front desk. The art displayed in the gallery was impressive. I liked how you could buy small pieces for affordable prices. I bought three framed photographs. Talked to a couple of people. A few children came in and told me about their favorite art pieces. One of them liked the red cardinal bird painting. His brother liked the CDs crafted into butterflies and the light bulb used to make a spider. My favorite one art pieces were the photographs I bought of the angel, the Smokey Mountains, and lightening. They were framed and matted- 3 for $10. I, also, liked the silver dragonfly and skeleton key earrings. The last items I liked were the black and white photograph of the merry go round with a menacing head poking through the trees and background by Shane and the simple portrait and sketch of a woman's face in charcoal and pencil.

Jessica created the most beautiful, original wedding cake topper for our September wedding. I only told her my wedding colors, and that I wanted a very earthy, natural look to my wedding. When I mentioned I had incorporated the cut-outs of birds on my wedding cake, she took it from there and the end result was more than I could have ever envisioned.
