If travel from the Bay to LA via Interstate 5 or maybe you're driving from Southern California…read moretowards Sacramento or the Bay! You must make a stop at least once if their hours allow. At Mercy Produce stand they have great workers that have a world of knowledge on everything they sell! I love this place when I started to come here when the cash register workers were teens. And only accepted cash,(no cards). The tip jar would say tips for college. As I think back I want to say it's been at least 18 years possibly more. Does anyone know how long this stand has been around? I usually only get to stop on my way back from my trip and I stock up on fresh fruits, dried items, nuts, honey, how about olives stuffed with garlic! Mouth is watering! I had a great shopping trip today! Purchased a huge box of peaches for eating and also to have some for canning. We purchased a plain watermelon. Sweet, juicy, delicious watermelon. But they now have a pineapple Watermelon! Soon I will return to try it. We purchased plums, apricots, figs all freshly picked fruit. These fruits are not like grocery store fruit that have no flavor. The color is blah, and they look firm but have a weird consistency. This is what real fruit taste like! Worth every dollar more than produce from other stores. Produce and freshly picked, some ripe and ready to eat. Dried snacks are packaged well with label of what is in it. I purchased Honey glazed Sesame seed almonds! Yum reminds me of the honey sesame sticks I would get as a child. I also picked up dried mango. Sorry it's long but I love to give you the complete picture. This place makes me so happy to see how successful they continue to be.

A few of the items that we purchased were bargain-priced. For instance, we got four gigantic fresh and sweet navel oranges for only 75-cents/lb., tasty white corn on the cob (4/$1, for the first 12), and small avocados (10/$1, limit 20). We also got yummy fresh apricots, pecans in their hard shells, and quite a few bags of roasted nuts for snacking. The market was clean and well-organized, and the young woman at the check-out counter was very friendly. After checking out, we enjoyed some apricots at one of their roadside picnic tables that was set up next to a small garden. Parking was sufficient, even for our small class B RV.

We would have spent more, but the rude lady at the bakery was cleaning and didn't acknowledge any of us or even look up. We gave up on buying anything sweet after standing there trying to get her attention for 10 minutes since apparently they only clean floors here and don't actually help customers. This same lady put her hoodie on and left and ended up right in front of us in Amanda's line checking out. These two conversed then we walked up. We said hello, no response. She kept her head down the entire time and refused to make eye contact or acknowledge us. That's fine. We paid for our items, but looked back and an older non brown lady walked up and she was greeted and treated with decency. This Amanda is probably the rudest cashier I've come across and we have Walmarts in our town. Lol IYKYK She is the reason this store should have self checkout. Next time in Yosemite or Mariposa, we won't be giving this store anymore of our hard earned money.
