The wait is never long for the tractor to pick you up for your hayride over the hill to the tree farm where you can cut down your own tree or select one to be cut for you. That should tell you a little about the likableness of the people managing this family farm which has been around since 1939. Fraser Fir, Concolor Fir, Douglas Fir, Canaan Fir, Turkish Fir and up to 12' tall. My only wish is for the option to one day purchase an organic tree here.

I was passing through the neighborhood about a week ago with my buddies and saw Mr. Fidler out on…read morehis tractor. I waved to him and asked him if we could fish in the pond on his property. He gave us an enthusiastic yes. After he was done with his field work he came over to us and we all introduced ourselves and thanked him again. He told us all about the ecosystem of the pond. Mr. Fidler's knowledge of nursery, gardening, farming, fishing and all the different ecosystems really rang true that day and we definitely learned a few things. I never knew Mr. Fidler sold Christmas trees in the winter and also different trees, flowers, plants, etc. I now know where I'm going to buy my next apple tree. Mr. Fidler's kindness and generosity is unmatched by any of his competitors. Next winter during the Christmas season, my friends and I will definitely pay him a visit, not to fish, but to get a Fidler Christmas tree! Thanks again Mr. Fidler!

We love it here! We accidentally went to another Beck Tree Farm and rerouted ourselves to this one…read more We have now been two years in a row. We went the weekend after Thanksgiving, but opted to wait for the Sunday and Monday when there were less people. The staff are so friendly and ask what you are looking for so they can explain each tree and recommend one based on height and other criteria. They provide a saw and a cart to bring the tree back and shaking and baling the tree is included in the price. There are plenty of options. We got a 7ft Canaan last year and an 8ft Fraser and 6ft Canaan this year. Free hot chocolate, wreaths, tree bags, and their annual ornament for sale are the icing on the cake. Though I miss the adventures of the Christmas Tree Farm in Chicago, this one is pretty nice. We will be back next year.

Easiest Christmas tree selection process we've ever had…read more.. We pulled up to the farm and found a bunch of beautiful, full, fresh cut trees of all sizes. We had the lot to ourselves before two other families showed up. We found our tree after looking for about 10 minutes (we actually found a few a we liked in that small span of time!) Their sign described what to do and listed Curt's number if we needed any assistance. Curt actually came down to assist another customer with a larger tree, seems like a very cool guy! He can wrap your tree if needed and also sell tree stands. Will definitely be back next year!

Dave and Lynn Beck are good family friends so even though there are 3 or 4 other tree farms close by, we always go to Beck's. It is a tradition to go after church on a Sunday afternoon and pick our tree. Um, most people drive home with their tree tied to the roof of their car. My family is NOT like most people. Dad feels it's much easier to uh, drive our John Deere tractor/wagon here and load it up in the wagon so we can forgo the hassle of tying it to our car. It's been a little different since my brother and I left the nest as the tree is usually up when we get home from Penn State or DC, respectively. When I moved to DC and bought a fresh tree 2 years ago, I was astounded by the $50 price tag. A 4-5 foot tree for $50!? Not the case at Beck's. I believe the price is between $40-45 for a 6 or 7 foot tree which is amazing. Beck's also has a huge pile of garland behind the barn that patrons are free to take as much as they want. Mom usually takes a few pieces to assemble mini trees that she puts on our front porch as decorations. Go to Beck's for your Christmas trees. It's worth it.
