Had an hour long phone call with a rep, asked every question I could think of, was assured the policy would pay out, in full, for ANY cause of death other than suicide. Went through the full application, got approved, started paying. Come to find out, I'd been set up for a policy that would only pay out about 25% of the value for all causes, the remaining 75% was exclusively in the event of accidental death (giving them the opportunity to dispute the cause in virtually any scenario, now that it's not for "ALL" causes). This was nowhere on the application and was explicitly stated to not be the case when I spoke with the rep. (Wasn't any cheaper than what other companies would charge for what I thought I was buying, before you think "this guy should've known because it cost so much less than normal") I only found out because I was mailed more paperwork after I'd already started making payments and was trying to find the requirements for a physical. Many people probably go their whole lives without seeing this, as it doesn't come until they're already covered. Reached out to cancel, and the "call me or email if you ever have any questions, I'm here to help" rep didn't even respond. Had to call the company-wide number and do it the corporate way. Not at ALL what I paid for. If you're counting on a Fidelity Life policy to be there for your family should something happen to you, make sure you read all the fine print. Don't trust what the salesman promises you. They'll have their money but your family will not. read more

Fidelty insurance has the worst customer service ever!! I was yelled at twice on the phone, including by a supervisor, for pointing out tht they took out my premium twice from two differnt accounts!! read more

Absolutely horrible company along with their partner company, efinancial.com. Took me through the entire process... physical was good, health history good, healthy family history. Issued the policy and then rescinded the policy quoting something from my 5 years record history that even my doctor felt was inaccurate. They made a determination based on the 2 years of the pandemic and even made it sound as if I had lied on my application to them.... not true. It has been demoralizing, a waste of my time and, overall, just a really horrible experience. I had been insured with them for 7 years when employed and there was never an issue. Now looking for insurance without an employer (started my own business) and according to them I am uninsurable. Absolutely a terrible experience! read more

*** SCAM ARTIST- Lying cheating crooks! They quoted me a low number then tricked me into giving them my debit card number then turned around immediately and raised the quote on me. When I told them I was not interested in that price and I would get back to them if I changed my mind, they charged my card anyway. I did not realize this until I got something in the mail. I contacted them immediately and told them I wanted a refund , that I did not want their services, they said I had to send them a form that they would send to me. When I received the form, I signed it and sent it back. They still not refund me so I called them and said that I had a 30 days to review the policy and that I was over that time, so they are keeping my money. Full on crooks! I reported them to the BBB read more

DO NOT BUY from Fidelity Life!!! My husband and I bought life insurances with Fidelity Life 8-9 years ago when we were newly weds. Fast forward to last year when I called them (customer service 1-800-369-3990) to increase our policy amount since we have new additions to the family. I was surprised to find out that we had been paying for $500k term life insurance but our policy amount had been reduced to $200k due to the medical evaluation not being done. In the 8-9 years of being their customer, we were never informed of this! I asked to get the medical evaluation to be done but customer service said that they will have to re-quote us!!! I asked for my husband's policy to be cancelled since they have raised the price by 50% AND a quick search shown that for the same premium, my husband is now eligible for $1.1m instead of $500k. I decided to continue mine as they were able to waive the medical evaluation and mine was only increased by $10. Couple of days ago, my husband informed me that he is STILL seeing payments for the policy on his account!!!!! I called today to cancel but was told something different that it can only be done in writing. What I can do today is to stop automatic payments and were told that we will get paper works to sign to cancel the policy in 5-7 business days. So frustating!! I will be updating this review. read more

My story is very similar to review by Jeanne D. below. Just different numbers: I signed up for a policy that costed $37.84, and about 10 years later they silently increased the monthly premium by 17x (from $37.84 to $643.36). They did not make any attempt to obtain my authorization for this crazy price hike. They had my email address on file, but chose not to send me an email. They had my phone number on file, but chose not to call me. I got in touch with their support service as well as their manager, and both refused to send me a refund. I asked to escalade to their Compliance Department, and they sent ma a letter that claims that my acceptance of their terms 10 years ago gave them the right to change the premiums in any range. This is wrong, so I am going to take them to court and see what the judge says about this letter and this shady business. Needless to say, I do not recommend anybody to use Fidelity Life. read more

I purchased a policy 15 years ago on my boyfriend. $53.22 was deducted from my checking account every month for 15 years. Due the math. All of a sudden I looked at my account and they had taken 617.00 out of my checking account with out my permission. After filling out a cancellation form on November 9th, you would think I would have the amount returned to my checking account. Not so. I have talked to several people after jumping through hoops to even get a human on the phone. I asked to speak to her supervisor and after 30 minutes of waiting, she came back and said there wasn't a supervisor to speak to but I would get a call back. She then hung up and haven't heard a word since. It always amazes me that they can take money out of your account but when you ask for a refund its a nightmare trying to get it back. Still waiting. I would never purchase a policy from them or any other insurance company. Horrible experience. Horrible company. J Dimidio read more

I had no problems with the sign up and medical exam process, I get my quarterly paperwork most of the time, they do not offer paperless. Now the issues I have, the website and customer service, they have a nice new website for agents, and prospective agents but the customer site is down more than it is up, you can not view the specifics of your policy, or change any information, all you can see is you have an account, the account number and some basic payment info, and that is if it works, it is down more than 60% of the time, and when it does appear to be working, you will get to your home page but the links do nothing. Customer service is dismissive to customers. I would not recommend read more

After a long and arduous hunt for life insurance, I knew that FLA would be the right choice for me from the moment I spoke with one of their associates. They were patient, knowledgeable, and clearly sympathetic to my situation. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone. read more

If I could give this company negative stars I would. They are great until you need to file a claim. Do business with this company if : You like being placed on hold for 30+ minutes as the norm. You like being continually transferred to people who are on vacation, even after you tell the customer service person that you were just transferred to that person. If you hate communication, this company does not communicate at all with you! But, they do offer to let you leave a message and someone will contact you back within 2 days! Now, imagine having to go through this after your loved one just died. My loved one died over 30 days ago ! So far the only thing I have been able to accomplish with Fidelity Life is get t the claim paperwork. I have called and called and have yet to get an answer from them if they have received it! 30 days! This is the last thing you want to have to deal with after a loved one has passed. It is though they put you through telephone hell hoping you will just hang up. Fidelity Life you should be ashamed of yourself! read more

This company is a scam - they keep deducting money from your account. They have been doing this for years and have never sent me any paperwork or emails that this policy exists. This is a shit company - stay away read more

This company has multiple associates with email addresses that email me every day! I get multiple emails a day from this terrible company. I have repeatedly asked to be removed from their list which I NEVER SIGNED UP FOR and the emails still come to me every day! I will never conduct business with a company that uses such harassment in an effort to obtain customers. They stink of desperation. I never want to receive another email from them or their associates. iF THIS CONTINUES i WILL CONTACT AN ATTORNEY! read more

DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY!!!! My experience is just like Jane J. I tried to get a policy started with them entering my info online. When hitting the Submit button, I received a message that they were experiencing technical trouble and I would have to start again. However, they had no "technical problems" deducting money from my account. I received no email confirmation of my policy nor written correspondence via regular mail of my policy until I called to complain that money was being taken out of my account this month. They also said they would not issue a refund. Customer service is like talking to a robot. Definitely a SCAM--STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!! read more

Fidelity LIfe Association has no morals, ethics or common sense. A rep, Bill Ettinger, from Coverage One Insurance, sold me a sham health insurance policy May of 2013, that was basically just a bunch of discounts on health services. I cancelled everything the next day. Unbeknownst to me, Mr. Bill also enrolled me in a $500,000 life insurance policy for $47 a month with Fidelity Life. It was set up as a direct withdraw from my checking account, I had no knowledge of it, never signed anything and would have never agreed to it. I can not afford life insurance right now and do not need it. This month I noticed debits from Fidelity Life on my bank statements. Mystified, I called Fidelity Life to say they must have made a mistake and I wanted my four months of automatic deductions returned. They told me I was signed up by Bill Ettinger, the insurance salesman, received a policy in the mail and never rescinded so the policy was in tact. If I got something from Fidelity Life, I would have tossed it as junk mail. I had no business relationship with them. I would never bother to open up their mail. I would not be expecting a life insurance policy. It doesn't matter what they sent me. These idiots have no signature or authorization from me. Yet they are still charging me, now through the US Mail since I cut off the direct withdraw. They have told me how to cancel, but I refuse to cancel something I never signed up for. Consequently, the keep billing me. I filed a claim with the California Department of Insurance. Do NOT do business with them. If they would risk their license to sell insurance over an illegitimate sale, and then try and hold me to it, you do NOT want to buy their insurance. Not only are their agents unethical, but so is Fidelity Life for employing them and then trying to enforce their bogus sales. The life insurance business is slimy as it is. And Fidelity Life Association just adds to the lubrication. read more

I have to say how incredibly unhappy I am with this company. They have made it incredibly impossible for me to cancel my policy. I was even hanged up on by there customer service rep. I would never recommend this company and would recommend anyone who is looking for life insurance look elsewhere. I ask to speak to a supervisor and they say they don't have anyone. I keep saying in not married and yet they still make me have someone pose as my spouse. After 5 calls they tell me I need to specify in the letter I am not married. Why did it take me to get so angry for someone to tell me to do something so simple. Stay away.... read more

Is there a place to put ZERO stars for this "CRAPPY life insurance company! " Fidelity Life has got to be the biggest and worst life insurance company for the following reasons: 1. They hire uneducated, stupid, ignorant people to take customer service calls that don't know how to serve the customer in a polite or prompt fashion! 2. They have no customer interactive website, whereby everything has to be done by snail mail, or the customer has to wait on the phone for hours, and once you do reach a support rep, they are very rude, and take weeks to respond to a simple issue! 3. Additionally, Fidelity Life Managers who take the complaint telephone calls from customers with legitimate concerns have "NO RESPECT" for their customers and are extremely rude and unresponsive! 4. In closing, based on my telephone conversations with the employees in relation to my policy, this is a just a very poorly run company, with untrained staff and managers that DON'T CARE....plain and simple! 5. My advice to the Fidelity Life Insurance is to fire ALL of your employees and yourselves and get out of the insurance business. You have no right to claim that you have been in business since 1896. The company founders would not appreciate how piss poor of a job you are doing! read more

The same thing happened with me as well... Six month ago, after my husband passed away, I was shopping for more affordable health insurance for me and my two sons. The health insurance agent Timothy Garem offered me a plan which I bought and one hour later I cancelled the coverage. This agent told me there is a life insurance in the package. When I called requesting cancellation I asked to confirm if they canceled everything. I never authorized anyone from Fidelitylife automatically withdraw payments from my banking account! I never signed any agreement or spoke with any Fidelitylife representative about my policy! Complete scam! read more

This outfit is astonishing. They are simply scammers pure and simple. I demanded a copy of my life insurance policy, and they ignored me. After many letters, they sent me a "John Doe" policy - it actually says John Doe. Obviously nothing to do with my actual policy. They obfuscate, lie, cheat and steal. I think it is time for the insurance commission to get them closed down. God help you if you have a claim. read more

The exact same thing happened to me, I set up a insurance policy. Which I was unaware of this life insurance policy they unrolled me in. This company was spamming employees' email accounts at my company for life insurance quotes right at the time our open enrollment period for benefits began.
