They told me that branch does investments like stocks and not retirement but the employee Lazaro helped me out regardless. I had questions on the procedure on how to transfer, I did not transfer the funds today. He provided me phone number of fidelity retirement support where I called several times. This location has plenty of parking and interior looks pretty clean. It feels pretty empty inside, like not a lot of furniture, no art work on wall, no plants, etc. read more

I was with Fidelity for a decade or more. At first, it was good. I was conservative to start but became more of a risk taken as time went on. My adviser had me sell some Apple stock a decade ago, which at the time seemed right. The stock dipped (all stocks dip), then came roaring back like a lion!! Fortunately, I bought Nvidia in 2015, and despite urging by all of my reps, I held it, and still do. I ignored them and left Fidelity. The bottom line is to think for yourself and not let an "educated expert" run your finances. Fidelity fired 2 of my reps and hired younger people (cut in pay?). Terrible! I opened an investment account online and the company never completed my address verification in spite of the fact I sent all the requested documents. They then ended up locking my account because they didn't "approve" the documents sent... so frustrating. So, I go into the local branch to close my account and obtain my funds... I'm told they can't issue a check in the branch, but can mail me a check; it will take a few weeks. That's unacceptable to me, so they offer to transfer the money electronically... better! The representative, Zaida, calls a colleague to initiate the transfer and, as I listen to their conversation, I hear that it's going to take a week, I begin to ask why. Zaida PUTS HER INDEX FINGER UP to silence me, finishes her call and then says that timeline is the "best they can do." I can do better at any of the other financial institutions I work with but just want this done, I ask for a printed confirmation of this transaction and she tells me they don't have a confirmation... I am done... I ask for a supervisor. This supervisor listens, apologizes, and offers me a printed copy of the transaction. However I still can't get my funds faster... I wasted a month of time and too much energy trying to work with this company. DON'T GO! read more

Terrible experience at attempting to open an account online. First they suggest using the phone app. I thought, ok I usede the phone app for other ones and they work flawlessly. I tried 3 times to set it up and each time at different parts of the process it said error : start over. I figured I'd go to the website using my phone and everything went through up to the part where they needed to, text me a verification code. To retrieve the code I had to go to my messages. After retrieving it, I can't get back to the site. So now I try my laptop. Of corse I have to start from the very beginning like the previous attempts. This time it says you already have an account log in or If you forgot your username or password hit the reset password bar. I never got to the point to even set up a username or password, but I chose that option anyhow. A screen comes up to type pertinent information such as name, birthdate address and last 4 of my social. Now I'm told that there is no record of an account, and would I like to open one. Fidelity Investments is something else. I opened an account in October 2024 with Fidelity. I was searching high and low for a worth having brokerage account. It's been rough and I finally decided to go with fidelity and make my first transfer, a nice amount not only to be told they will have to hold funds for over 16 days or when they decide to release funds. Okay, fine so I was told if I did a smaller amount my funds would clear sooner. So, I again transfered more funds. Big mistake, huge mistake! The next day was told they will be closing my account and that was it. I'm a victim of Identity theft and they were well informed. A couple days later while I'm still processing what was going on with my account due to the large amount of transfers I did. How was I going to get my money back, there was no closure statements after I seen the money completed and just waiting to be released. So they recieved my transfer without a doubt. I wasn't given a trace on my funds. Instead I get an email in regards to my account. I have a statement. WHAT?? I called and all get is not to call anymore it's not my account because it's closed when just the other day was told there were funds in there but couldn't talk about it. All they say is I can't and no longer have an account with them. Um... Where is my money. These people kicked me out of my own account let my hacker/stalker/frauder take over my account. Am I missing something here? For 1 I need my funds back. I don't want an account. I'm insurred all the money I transfered in my account that is still open and than some. If I could give zero stars, I really would. Although the location in Torrance didn't service me, this review is for Fidelity Investment as a whole. Through my employer, I am a client Fidelity Investments that manages my 401k Retirement Account. I have been a client for close to 5 years.. Up until this review I had nothing but good things to say for the Retirement Investment Group. Up until February 19th, my opinion of this Investment Group has altered dramatically at standing behind their clients. I had requested to withdrawal a certain amount of money, due to major dental work that needed to be completed by my primary dentist. Okay, so use the resources I have via Fidelity Investment. I originally spoke to Jennifer, a representative who I expressed needing to withdrawal a one time specified amount from my retirement account. I was aware that there would be taxes that need to be paid along with the withdrawal. Okay no problem. Jennifer was told the EXACT amount of money that I NEEDED TO WITHDRAWAL due to my dentist procedure. So based on the amount of taxes I was informed to be processed along the way, I had no issue with. WHAT THIS REPRESENTATIVE FAILED TO DO WAS, EDUCATE THE CLIENT AND DO HER DUE DILIGENCE... Jennifer failed to then EDUCATE and EXPLAIN that since I wanted to withdrawal a SPECIFIC amount and yes I've agreed to have taxes removed, I would need to WITHDRAWAL a larger amount to ensure that I RECEIVE THE EXACT AMOUNT I REQUESTED TO DEDUCT FROM MY RETIREMENT ACCOUNT. I am aware that the conversations are recorded, and I can promise that the entire call lasted no more than 5 minutes. From asking the exact amount to withdrawal, to explaining the taxes paid, and then letting me know that proper documentation is needed to support the withdrawal request. No problem, I reach out my dentist, who sent me an electronic dental plan of the entire cost, BREAKING DOWN DOLLAR BY DOLLAR, along with the EXACT AMOUNT I ORIGINALLY REQUESTED. So were Jennifer failed to perform her job functions is that I was never informed that I would need to withdrawal a LARGER balance to take into account the taxes I would need to include to AGAIN RECEIVE THE EXACT AMOUNT THAT MY DENTAL PLAN STATED AND I ACTUALLY ASKED FOR INITIALLY !!! So I was under the impression that the once the documents were uploaded online to Fidelity Investments, the amount requested would be electronically deposited into my checking account to take care of the dental costs I was obligated to pay. So fast forward, on February 23rd, I was electronically deposited $1150 LESS than I needed initially to pay for my dental work. I call Fidelity and speak to "Brenda" a Rep who had no sense of urgency, nor cared about me expressing that there was a lesser amount ach'd into my account for my withdrawal request. I couldn't even continue the conversation with this particular rep, without wanting to come through the phone at anger. Her lack of response to my concern, and sounding like a broken record with "well I'm sorry" "there's no other options to correct this". So I arrive home, and stress out of disbelief to my spouse what transpired in the time I spoke with the rep. I then call back Fidelity and speak with a rep, "Ben" who was actually the Rep who LISTENED, and EXPLAINED, and asked PROBING questions with my whole process from working with Jennifer. So after speaking with Ben, Jennifer never ADVISED/EDUCATED that since I am requesting $x,xxx amount of money, I need to process the withdrawal request for the higher figure to ensure that the proper TAXES can be deducted by Federal/State taxes. So I ask Ben, "Isn't this the responsibility of the Fidelity Agent, who is there to actually ASSIST the client with their needs?". Ben's response is yes. I am not BEHIND the scenes and work with Fidelity, so as the client it's their due diligence to ensure that based on my request I am given the proper insight on handling the request with ease and no issues. Not only had Fidelity issued a withdrawal to me that HAD TAXES REMOVED FROM THE AMOUNT I ACTUALLY NEEDED. The rep never explained that I would need to request a certain amount to include all applicable Fed/State taxes from it. I don't work for Fidelity and if that's the training that's offered to Reps to work with Fidelity, then clients are being set up for failure with requests. I thank Ben for him giving me education that Jennifer failed to provide and thoroughly perform her job to ensure I was satisfied with the urgent need to withdrawal funds to perform extreme dental work. I then escalate the call with Ben to see, how Fidelity can correct their wrong on my withdrawal. Granted I NEVER TOUCHED THE $X,XXX THAT WAS IN MY CHECKING ACCOUNT, because as I explained to Ben... I would leave that money in my account to have Fidelity correct the withdrawal amount. Present day, Fidelity never took my request or concern serious enough as their valued client. BBB and my employer will hear this! read more

I used to work for Fidelity in Century City. It is a great company! I had to write a review because there are some negative reviews posted. I'd like to explain that there are industry regulations that have nothing to do with Fidelity. Therefore, you can't just get money out of an account if you're the heir and your loved one passes away. You normally have to go through probate. As far as Minimum Required Distributions, the person who is taking an MRD needs to fill out a form either online or in person, so if someone was having an issue, there is more to the story. The bottom line, if you're looking for good financial advice, you can find it at Fidelity. They will help you with diversification, help to manage risk and explain things in laymen terms if necessary. They also help those who are savvy investors. I also worked for full service firms and there is NO reason to choose a company such as Merrill Lynch or another full service firm. They just charge you more and you get the same experienced reps with a full service firm as you do with someone from Fidelity. Do yourself a favor, go with no loaded funds and $5.00 commissions on trades. Versus 3% to 5%. Fidelity is a very large financial firm for a reason. They know what they are doing. This location recently re-opened, it's clean and has nice young staff, not to mention a comfortable waiting area with friendly amenities. My financial consultant is Jamar Burton, whom I find to be personable and well educated with all things 401K. My 401K has been with Fidelity for several years (with good growth), and I was recently moved on to the desk of Jamar, lucky me because he has proven to be a wealth of knowledge in reviewing my portfolio and making financial suggestions. He is always courteous and quick to return my calls when I try to contact him. I feel 100% comfortable with Jamar and Fidelity when it comes to helping manage my 401K retirement funds. Looking forward to retirement already, unfortunately it's several years away! read more

Don't bother with this place of business if you are interested in investing with Fidelity. When I called around Easter to schedule an appointment to meet with someone regarding opening a Roth IRA, they took my contact information and no one called me back. When I tried again this summer, they didn't answer their phone due to "high volume of calls" and I was transferred to a national customer service rep who could not help me schedule an appointment. However he did inform me that opening a Roth IRA was done on-line and not through Fidelity's physical offices. Eventually I was able to contact someone at this location and get the details about opening a Roth IRA. The short: you can walk in anytime and they will provide you basic information about their investing options, and even help you open an account on-line, BUT everything is done on-line so you might as well save yourself a drive out there and just talk to someone at Fidelity over the phone. If I haven't had Fidelity recommended to me by several people, I don't know if I would bother investing with them at this point. I don't know the point of them having a physical location if everything is done on-line. Oh wait, that's right, I'm a broke-broke so they don't have time for me and my measly $5,500 a year (max) Roth IRA. You don't count here if you're not part of the 1%. read more

Fidelity usually provides good customer service, but their Torrance office really screwed up my mother's Trust account. My mom inherited some money and we came to this office to open a Trust investment account in her name. The young woman who assisted us said she had been there about a year, straight out of college. She was friendly but seemed unfamiliar with the process. It took about 25 minutes to open the account. A few weeks later, my mom and I tried to buy some ETFs online and the website said this account was restricted to mutual funds ONLY. The Fidelity adviser had set up a restricted trade account rather than the usual brokerage account. Why-oh-why would she do this without even asking us? Of course we want to buy ETFs, bonds, CD's, etc. in the Trust investment account. We called Fidelity customer service and found out there's no "software switch" to convert the restricted Trust account into a brokerage Trust account. We had to fill out an application to open a SECOND Trust account, then wait a week or two for the money to be transferred. Now I'll have to make another two hour drive (round trip) to my mom's house to help her buy some ETFs. I give "five stars" to KC, the Fidelity service rep who stayed on the phone for 45 minutes as we filled out, scanned, and uploaded the 9-page Trust application form. It would have taken longer if KC hadn't pushed the back office to accept the existing Trust Certification form. I give "one star" to Fidelity HQ for not having a software switch to change the Trust from a restricted trading account to a brokerage account. It should have been a much simpler process. I have investment accounts with Fidelity and Schwab, and this incident makes Schwab look even better. EDIT: Five stars to Victoria Lynch, the Fidelity phone rep who went above and beyond the call of duty to expedite the new Trust account and to transfer funds from the old account. I wish the local Torrance branch had provided the same level of expertise as Fidelity's national customer service line. read more

Don't go here unless you are looking for a complex retirement fund. You're wasting your gas! They only let you past the front desk to talk with an advisor if you want to deal with "complex IRAs." I'm looking for a mutual fund and I was told "Here's a booklet" then essentially "you're on your own, go online to our website to research each one on the list" and "call us when you decide which one you want." Called Fidelity investment guidance and was told they don't do conservative mutual funds with the percent I was looking for, but yesterday Chase banks told me different. Interesting there "aren't any mutual funds today" like the one I'm looking for. Note: I don't know anything about this so an advisor is necessary to make a smart choice...This is NOT a helpful place. read more

That is wrong with this picture? I was assisting my 83 yr. old mother with resetting her log in and password. I tried doing this over the 800 line (long story -short) we decided to go to the Torrance office in person to reset the pass word. 1. After waiting for 20 minutes for our "client service rep" / Juan came out and sat in his glass booth for 8 minutes talking about his plans for lunch. 2. I explained our visits purpose. Juan made a call and than explained to my mother that a "hold" was placed on her account (all $1.6 million worth of funds) and that he could not reset the log in or password. When we inquired why the hold was place - Juan explained that he could not provide a reason? 3. I requested that we speak with a manager. Only to be told that all the managers were out of the office. I requested that he call them on their cell. Only to be told that no one was available. 4. After wasting an hour. We closed out the entire account and move it over to Charles Schwab (across the street). 5. I left a message to the branch manager - Mike Quarry. He never follow up. Very economical and friendly, but in just a short time there I found phone access is poor and today 30 minutes on hold to try and close a position after 10 attempts at login failed due to system failure. Not sure what kind of knuckle-heads they employ at this place. My wife has been trying to payoff a previous loan so that she can start a new loan from her 401K. She went online to pay off the old loan, my wife calls to check on the status of payoff, the rep tells her it would take two weeks to varify funds(Nov14). My wife asked the rep the quickest way to payoff the old loan so she could do the new loan. The rep tells her to overnight a check. My wife wrote out a check, overnighted it to them. My wife calls to check status cause we tracked the overnight parcel. They don't accept personal checks? Now, the rep never said a thing about bank check or certified check? So here we are (Nov19), we know they received the new bank check parcel last friday(Nov16), can only imagine the next series of excuses. The intent for the new loan, was to travel back east so our kids could enjoy a Holiday with their Great Grand-Ma on my wifes side and my Mom, their Grand-Ma. We did that and they still wouldn't help us because THEY couldn't communicate with her. I needed to set up a Roth IRA account and heard good things about Fidelity. I called them and made an appointment. I met with one of their financial planners, Alan. I walked into Fidelity knowing absolutely nothing about Roth IRA accounts, retirement funds, etc. Alan was great at thoroughly explaining what a Roth IRA entails while presenting the options that would benefit me the most with regards to my current financial situation. He was able to answer all of my questions (I had a lot of questions!) and never once did I feel rushed or pressured into making a decision. I walked out of Fidelity having felt confident in my decision regarding my Roth IRA. I highly recommend Fidelity for any financial needs, especially Alan! read more
