This place is frustrating.
I've had two bad experiences here. The first one - I went in to open a Roth Rollover and the woman couldn't even sign on into the system to set it up for me. She kept going to the back room for help or whatever, with no results. After a painful 30 minutes of nothing happening, I left to try again another day.
I had to move some money around and came in there today to open the account and deposit some money that needed to be in the account at a certain time. Same lady behind the counter. We opened the account well enough, and deposited the check. When she asked me to confirm whether the info on her tablet was correct, I told her I had a new phone and the old number was incorrect. She said to blow that off, so I signed.
Then, I asked her if the new account was connected to my checking account. She said no, so I asked her to help me connect the two. She goes "It needs to verify your phone number. I'll have it send you a code." I reminded her that I had a new phone and that the number associated with the account wouldn't work. After many times going to the back room for help or whatever, she tells me that it will take several days for my new phone number to be accepted into the system. I was like "What??"
So I tried to do it myself. It wouldn't let me update my new number without sending a code to my old number to verify that I have a new number. What the hell is that?? Talk about an inefficient system. Not only did it seem as if she struggled with basics, the very makeup of their protocols is ass-backward. I have had much better success via phone talking to their main office.
Very pretty inside, free coffee and a wonderfully smelling restroom. But that's all the good I can say about Fidelity Investments. read more
