Edward Jones - Financial Advisor: Sean M Bradshaw

I've been working with Sean and his team (Cheryl primarily) for over five years, and I couldn't be…read morehappier. When I began looking for someone to help me with investments and other financial services, I had a (long) but relatively basic list of criteria: Is this person: - Smart? (knowledgeable about the services they're offering, including a basic understanding of simple tax laws/implications from investment decisions) - Trustworthy? - Communicative? - Likable? - Humble? - Passionate about gaining financial freedom? - Equally as determined to help me accomplish (and exceed) my financial goals? - Dedicated to their business/their firm? Sean embodies all of these qualities, and that hasn't changed since the day I switched to him from my previous Financial Advisor. Outside of the incredible gains my money has made, I genuinely LIKE Sean. He's warm and personable and although very busy, never too busy to make time for any client who needs it. He learns what the right level of communication is for each of his clients and follows their lead in a truly exceptional way. Lastly, since switching to Sean, I've moved to California and could easily pick a new Financial Advisor. But unless something completely crazy happens, I won't. In fact, not only have I've kept my money with him, but I've increased my contributions due to the level of satisfaction I've experienced with him and his office staff. If you're considering working with a Financial Advisor but aren't sure where to start, or you have questions about how it could benefit you or your family, I would HIGHLY recommend Sean.

My banking needs are relatively simple…read more I became exceedingly unhappy with the service and poor attitude that I was receiving from PNC. I had originally started as a MidAmerica (the Naper Boulevard branch) customer, was swept when National City took over and then finally PNC ("PREVIOUSLY National City" :-) came in. MidAmerica was a great local bank. In my last year with PNC, there were always unnecessary and surprise charges. It became very clear that PNC was not in business for the little guy, although I was a legacy customer from MidAmerica. Having switched banks before, I could see where this was going. So, last April, I marched myself over to Naperville Bank & Trust and set up an account with Loretta. Other than to write this review, I have not looked back. The on-line banking works well and on time. They even have mobile banking, but I have not availed myself of that. The locations are convenient. NB & T is tied into Wheaton Bank & Trust and Glen Ellyn Bank & Trust such that the local banking and ATM networks are huge and convenient. If I remember correctly, Naperville Bank & Trust customers NEVER pay to use an ATM in the U.S. If you are charged, then they reimburse you. Is that "crazy generous" or what? If you have had your fill of PNC or Chase or the other big banks and their shenanigans, then you might want to give Naperville Bank & Trust a try.

The bank cannot count my change and has now taken away human tellers in favor of a machine in my branch. When I passed a sign that indicated a bank would count my change, I knew I had to open an account at this bank. As soon as I walked into the bank, the atmosphere made me remember what customer service could be. I was warmly welcomed and greeted by the employees including Irma who set up my new account in a very painless way. The online system is not difficult at all. Those of us who are not the private client customers that Chase is courting need to smarten up and start to use community banks. I will be exploring the app, and I will be reporting back on that. Oh. At Naperville Bank & Trust I can use Apple Pay. Why would I need any other bank?

And after working for most of my lifetime- it came time to consolidate all of my financial advisers under one roof. Capstone came highly recommended and since they do several of my colleagues and are familiar with my company's incentive plans, etc, after a quick interview to see if we were going to get along, I contracted with them. Keith and Frank (sounds like a comedy team but sometimes I think it is me who provides the humor when I go there as they are always laughing at some outrageous thing I say when there . . . most be a lot of "old fuddy duddies" in the financial advising business) take the time to explain what they think I should do to invest my money as well as to protect my assets in the future to make sure those in my life are taken care of even if I am not here to do it. They are timely in their communication, follow stocks, make recommendations and just basically help me to make the right decisions regarding my finances. Their fees are based on what you need them to do and are varied. Plus they take the hassle of all of that away so deadlines are met, tax returns filed, quarterly updates provided, things are consolidated and they do it all with smiles on their faces no matter how many questions I ask, or how long it takes me to sign something basic (trust me . . .my living trust took forever as I just didn't want to think about who was going to pull the plug on me if I was sick. Let me go on the record here to all who are reading this that you can pull it . . . just not too soon!) I trust them with my future. A huge responsibility, I know. And one I don't partner into lightly. If you are looking for someone to help manage your finances, you owe it to yourself to talk to these guys. More substance than flash . . . but that's what I'm paying them for . . .and I'm a girl who likes to get her money's worth.
