They solved a problem for me that PNC's national customer service rep said was impossible for the bank to do anything about. They were also unfailingly, genuinely empathetic, despite my expressing frustration with the general situation. PNC may be a major chain bank, but this branch makes it feel like a local business.

I went there to cash a check from my mother today. I have cashed lots of checks from her in the…read morepast and some larger amounts than the one today. Any way I pulled up to the window sent in the check and my license they lady cashed the check and sent me the money. I was about to pull away as she was waiving bye and told me have a good day and then said wait I need your ID again pull around back bc there's other people in line. I pull around back and she comes out and says "I need yours ID and your occupation" I'm thinking this is super weird you need my occupation but I have it to her and my ID again. She goes inside the back door and come back out with a sticky pad and a pen and says "I need your social" at this point I'm super confused and annoyed bc I have to get back to work and the check was already cashed and I had money in hand. I refused to give her my SSN in the back of the bank on a sticky note pad. I said call my mom if you need to to make sure the check was real. I get my mom on the phone and she confirms that the check was ok for me to cash. The lady said if I didn't give her my social she was going to take the money back that she already gave me from the cashed check. She proceeded to tell me she was going to call the police. I said and what tell them you cashed the check handed me the money and I won't give you my social on a sticky note in the back of the bank? I asked for a manager and she said she was one. I asked for the policy in writing that I have to give you my social after you cash and hand me the money. She then told me I was a very disrespectful young lady and walked in the back of the bank. I was about to drive away and realized she still had my ID. So I walk around the front of the bank and said you still have my ID she hands it to me and says get out of my bank and you are not allowed to do business here. Absolutely most bazaar and Shane experience I ever had at a bank. Thank god my bank accounts are not with this bank!

So much unnecessary stress! The moment you open an account here, expect endless issues. The app and…read morewebsite always have issues that either lock you out of seeing your money and transactions or don't let you use your money/ make transfers. If you call I.T., they often do not know the issue and simply wish you luck on a resolution. It's been a week of "technical issues" for me that supposedly cannot be resolved unless I visit the branch and manually take out money. And this is very far from the first time. I also get locked out of my account after 11:59 PM and on holidays, so i cannot even see my money or transaction history. Overall such an unnecessary pain. Do not bother putting your money here for your own sanity.
