My mom and I stumbled upon this place starved and craving something filling. There were other options nearby, but those were either pricey or too light (sandwich or something). We wanted hearty irish fare!
When we entered, I was a bit put-off that no one greeted us or showed us into the restaurant area (you walk into the bar section of the building). When we found our way over, we weren't sure if we should wait to be seated or seat ourselves. Finally the one waitress in the whole place waved us to sit wherever. We reviewed the lunch menu, and I was starting to regret choosing this place since there wasn't a lot of options. However, we needed food and went ahead and ordered. I got a goats cheese and chicken wrap with vegetable soup, and my mom got seafood chowder.
When the food came (at different times, unfortunately), it was piping hot! My mom's chowder was actually boiling. My wrap was cheesy and creamy and delicious. I only wish it had been hotter. However, the soup was divine!!! It was the perfect temperature, very creamy and hearty. I hadn't had this style of vegetable soup (pureed rather than chunky), but it was a great introduction! My mom's chowder, once cooled enough to eat, was very hearty and thick. It was tasty and had a ton of kinds of seafood in it.
All in all, the atmosphere was okay, the service was okay, but the food really saved this place. As far as the food went, it was nearly perfect! Yummy, yummy! read more
