Having driven from the far end of Skye and on the last leg to Inverness, Fiddler's was a very welcome respite. It's not always easy to eat vegetarian when travelling, but Fiddler's offered a lovely selection. I feel it is always a credit to a chef who doesn't just stitch on a spinach-and-ricotta-something to the menu, but takes pride in every dish they serve.
Mum and I wound up both having the soup of the day, carrot, lentil, and tomato, and then a salad each to share about - grilled goats cheese with beetroot and walnut, and a vegetable salad. The soup was wonderfully warming and filling, the salads fresh, not over-dressed or complicated. It's been a long time since I've felt that satisfied after a meal.
Our servers were friendly and knowledgeable; we were recommended a good pale ale and were able to take the time to relax after the meal. If/When I return to this part of the world again, Fiddler's is sure to be a stop along the way.
TLDR: Hearty, delicious food with good veggie options, warm and inviting ambiance, with a staff who are well informed, friendly, and professional. read more
