Edgar and his team exceeded my expectations, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. I brought in my 2013 Tesla Model S with over 140,000 miles because the headliner fabric was literally falling apart. Between the age of the vehicle, normal wear and tear, and the unusually hot Southern California weather, the interior had become a nightmare. It was frustrating to drive a car I still enjoy while watching the fabric deteriorate around me. From the very beginning, Edgar was professional, communicative, flexible, and, most importantly, trustworthy. He worked with my schedule, provided an accurate quote, and was always responsive to my texts and questions. With a repair this significant and potentially expensive, having someone who takes the time to communicate and explain things makes a huge difference. What really impressed me was the attention to detail and the extra effort they put into getting the job done right. Rather than guessing at the fabric color, they actually took the time to cut a sample of my original headliner material to find the closest possible match for my Tesla. I was going to get the work done with an upholsterer that I had used years ago for another vehicle, but they were no longer in business. I turned to Yelp and read through numerous reviews and felt that AB Auto Upholstery was right choice. I drove over and spoke with Abel, who I found very friendly and knowledgeable. He looked the area over, confirmed they could do the repair, quoted me a price, and even said that they would do the work on a Saturday. It took about 3.5 hours to repair the damaged area on my seat and it looks absolutely brand new. I am pleased with the quality of the work and how the color matches (keep in mind this seat has about eight years of wear, so the color is a tad brighter because of newness only). I couldn't open the windows, or even have passengers or food in the car since foam would sprinkle everywhere from above. I decided to invest in reupholstery since I'm trying to keep my car as long as possible. We got a quote over the phone and drove in, thankfully Martin was able to take us in! He made quick work - we came Monday at 1pm, it was ready by Wed 10am. Martin is a one-man show, doing this for over 20 years. He is such a pro! My car was totally gutted , these thieves swapped out so many parts everyday ai find something new they changed . Makes me sick to know people like this exist. And can still get away doing business. I just assumed they were good because wawanessa referred me to sunroof express and they referred me to these guys! And who knows how many others ! I did complain to the insurance and to sunroof express. Totally bad for there business this has been a total nightmare ! I bought my RAV4 at Toyota of El Cajon. Making the deal took 7 1/2 hours over two days, not least…read morebecause although I'd been offered one with two-tone leather and made the deal based on that offer, when we finally got to "yes," the dealership's computer said that "my" car was in North County, and that it had been sold two days earlier. The salesman found one with my specs in Phoenix, and I offered to wait for delivery, but he wouldn't pay for the transfer. So, being a helpful person, I asked, "Boss, why don't you just reupholster one on your lot?" He balked, but he was two days in, and a sale is a sale. He agreed to change the leather and provide a rental during installation - for $1600. I chuckled and countered with $200. We settled at $500. The leather arrived at American Sunroof (ASC) a week later, where my car was reupholstered. When I went to pick it up at the dealership, I examined the finished work and noticed a loose patch of leather. The salesman and I called ASC and spoke to their salesperson Patti, who asked me to bring the car to ASC for an adjustment. That work only took an hour, and the leather, like the car itself, looked beautiful. I was particularly impressed by ASC's willingness to do what it took to get my upholstery just right, even though that's not their core business. I'm pretty well-set with my current car, but if I decide to upgrade or modify my next ride, I'll call ASC, without any hesitation.
