I'm a car dealer who took a long break from the business and decided to get back into it. So, you have to take a pre-licensing class to get your license, and while i took this class before, I was required to take it again. I chose this company for no other reason than that they were close to me and had a class this upcoming weekend that I was able to sit in. I was just trying to get this over with as I already knew everything about being a car dealer as I was a dealer.
They had a very large, very nice office in Downtown Tiburon, I got there a little early, and the only car in the parking lot was a brand spanking new Lamborghini Aventador with a FFW Auto Group paper plate. I was impressed, and wanted to see what these guys were doing that I wasn't. I was greeted by Sam, who was teaching the class. He was a young guy (probably late 20's, early 30's), and I later found out that he owned the company.
I paid $100 for the class, and feel like I got every bit of my money's worth. The class had about 15 people attending, and it did take a little longer than the 6 hours they said, but that was because there were a lot of questions being asked, and he had to answer them.
Now, keep in mind, I was a dealer before, and the class I took initially to get my dealer license cannot even compare to the teachings of this course. i learned things I did not know that I actually did need to know, and actually enjoyed listening to him, especially when we got to talking about auctions. He gave people solid advice on their specific business models; I got No. B.S from him, he answered every question accurately, and he's a super cool guy. During the lunch breaks, everyone crowded around his car; and he let the few people who asked to take pictures with them in the drivers seat. I stayed after the class and had a chat with him; he has a wealth of knowledge and didn't mind me picking his brain.
Thanks again Sam! read more
