My dog had a tumor in the right lobe of his liver. No local vets would touch it. I'm in Asheville for the summer and my local vet recommended FETCH in Greenville. After some research confirming that their surgeons were board certified I made an appointment with Internal Medicine. I cannot praise them enough for the doctors' patience, knowledge, and recommendation on tests to perform prior to my making a decision on the surgery. Everything I read indicated that this particular surgery was very tricky because it was in the right liver lobe, and most surgeons were hesitant to try to remove it, but I felt that even though my dog was 12 years old the prognosis of only a few months if I did nothing vs. 4-5 years of the surgery was successful made the decision easy. I met with the surgeon and she was very confident that she could get it out...and she did!! Post Op a dedicated nurse was assigned to my pup 24/7. I received photos and updates every morning and evening while he was there. EVERYONE I met was caring and concerned. I never felt rushed and was always able to get all my questions answered. Was it worth the 4 hour round trip ride....most definitely!! There are not many specialty vet hospitals in the area and I'm so glad I chose this one! read more

I brought my neighbor's outdoor cat in and rightfully so, the question of whether to treat him or not, because he wasn't mine, was considered. Neighbors don't have the extra money, and the cat was running a 105.7 fever. He needed help. Fetch got over that ethical dilemma and went ahead and treated the cat, kept and observed him for 12 hours, and took my $1300, but when I asked for somebody to approve a prescription for heartworm, after negative results from the heartworm test THEY administered, they refused, citing office policy, causing me to take the cat to another vet and pay for another heartworm test because everybody wants to do their own test, ya know. Nothing in their pockets, so that's where they drew the line. It's sad. I've spent approximately $8,000 there on my own cats, and nobody would give me a signature for this poor thing. I brought the cat in at 4 p.m. and a 12 hour out-patient fee was charged. Instead of saying, you know what, come back at 6 or 7 when you get up, they told me if I didn't come at 4 a.m., they'd have to adjust my bill. And to think I travel 3 times farther to go to these guys than another emergency clinic just up the road from me. I escalated my request for an exception to just get a years' worth of heartworm medicine for this little guy, and they refused. They've lost me as a customer. I'll sit and wait someplace else where maybe the surroundings aren't as nice, but where somebody cares about the pet parents, too. For a signature!!!? We had the unfortunate need for emergency veterinary services. My daughter's tiny chihuahua had a bowel obstruction and spent 5 days at Fetch in their ICU after GI surgery. We visited at least once every day. We found the front desk staff to be kind and efficient, putting us in a private room to visit when he was brought out. The vet techs were absolutely awesome. They were so kind and compassionate, and very knowledgeable. My daughter was kept abreast of current charges and anticipated charges and options. We received regular updates, and evening photos for our comfort. Special shout out to Dr. Scotti who was with our beloved pet for most of his stay. She was so thorough in her reports and just the sweetest and most compassionate person! She is definitely in the right field for her gifts. My friend's dog was in distress slightly one afternoon. Nothing major at first. She went to dinner with a friend and called on my daughter to go check on him. My daughter knew immediately upon entering that she needed to get him to the vet because she was having Deja vu with what happened with our dog a few years back. We FaceTimed and getting him to an emergency vet was the only option. That was around 7pm with getting to Fetch. The owner of the dog was meeting her there. I was on the phone with her from 8 to 8:30 and she had already waited for a hour. I asked if it was busy and she it didn't seem like it. She finally messaged all of us at 9pm and they said they gave her Gabapentin and a muscle relaxer. I thought that was odd because he looked cardiac in nature and she said the meds weren't changing anything. I told her to make sure they rule that out before she left. The next morning I reached out to check on them and this is what she said. Good morning. So I came home and gave him the two meds- the Gabapentin and the muscle relaxer. He took them in cheese and I was glad. And maybe settled a little. Then two hours later he was still pacing, the heavy breathing and shaking so I called back over there . They said I could give him another Gabapentin but that if that didn't settle him to consider IV meds. So at one this morning we went back to Fetch. I had to ring the doorbell to get somebody to the door then she put me in a room and said the doc was next door and she would be in soon. I carried ****** in a blanket in there and he fell hard asleep in my lap. I waited nearly an hour and no one had come to check on us or anything. He was sleeping hard, so we walked out of there- nobody around and literally left. Came home and we slept about 4 hours . He woke me up about an hour ago whining some so I took him outside. He has eaten a treat, and I've given him both meds again a little ahead of schedule . He's eaten a carrot and drank lots of water. So I'm glad he ate and was hungry but he is back to pacing and whining a little. I was just going to watch him and see if the meds kick in . I'm not going back to the Fetch place of course . I'll go to the one off of Haywood road. I got almost home and those people tried to call me and I just didn't answer. Very disappointing and disheartening. That they made me wait like that twice. And it's an ER and never checked and wasn't busy at all as far as I could tell. Maybe they had cases in the back that they were tending to, but check on me and say it may be a while. Just trying to get my head on straight and see if meds kick in..... Don't take your pet there if you care at all about getting emergency attention or the right diagnosis. The Doctors take time to explain things thoroughly and are very kind. They called with an update every AM When she stayed the night. There are specialties there that no other veterinarian offices have. I'm so glad the other ICU in Asheville recommended FETCH when they couldn't help my very sick kitty. It's a 4 hour round trip drive for me but worth every mile. She had to stay 2 nights at Fetch and she's still being treated as an outpatient. The only problem has been that they refuse to show me how to get her medicine down her even after I asked for this help. My cat has always been extremely difficult with this and I've mentioned it to 3 people there. Even THEY said she IS difficult with meds. When I asked a tech to please SHOW me she refused. One gave helpful ideas--all of which I have already tried but didn't work--and I said that. Dr Kim had some very helpful ideas I hadn't heard before. But I need to be shown how to hold her. Swaddling tight isn't enough--she tries to throw her head around and spits out the pill or liquid even after I hold her jaw shut for awhile and stroke her throat. Nothing they are doing will save her if I can't get the medications down her. I've watched videos but they use extremely docile cats for those that don't even try to fight it. One pill has to be cut into quarters so has sharp edges that we think cut her inside her mouth so she had blood in her water bowl which meant I had to drive the 4 hours to have her checked. She needs a total of 7 ml of liquids and a pill every day. It's not going well and I cry every time. Tonight I tried one liquid med mixed in her favorite food....but it backfired because she wouldn't touch it and now she won't even eat her dinner that has no medicine in it. Even with this frustration - if you have a very sick and complicated pet I recommend FETCH. Most cats are not easy to get medicine down. read more

Update! Fetch ultimately came through and my dog was able to have the life-saving transfusion she needed at the emergency vet right where she was. I am so grateful. THANK YOU Fetch! Original Review- My dog is currently staying overnight at another emergency veterinary facility and needs a life-saving blood transfusion due an auto-immune blood clotting disease called primary ITP. Fetch has the blood she needs for the transfusion, but won't sell it to the facility where my dog is, so now our options are to transfer her to Fetch and pay all of their fees or drive 1.5-2 hours away in hopes we can get the blood we need. This would be the 3rd vet we've seen in 3 days and I don't want to uproot her again. What happened to doing what's right for all patients? This place is EVIL. I actually ended up getting a refund from them because they did not take care of my girl properly. Maybe they have an aversion to cats I don't know but I had to wait FIVE hours when there was NOT A SOUL in the waiting area before they took care of my cat who was having breathing issues. When they said she had cancer and it was best to put her down, I said no I'll take her home and get a holistic protocol for her. They did a pleural effusion on her which damaged her lungs and made her breathing even worse. I then had ZERO choice but to put her down. I was mortified to say the least and I prayed over her as they administered the shot. I literally choked on my words. All they want to do is take your money and euthanize as many animals as they can. I was so devastated and could not believe they call themselves "doctors". Stay away from this place - if it's an emergency, find another ER for your fur babies, even if you have to pay more. Getting a refund from them didn't make me feel better, all it did for me was validate their screw up. I still miss my girl, she was with me for 16 years and I think about her every day. I entrusted her life to them and they violated that trust. You have no idea the guilt I have over that. Please! Take your fur babies elsewhere. This sham of a vet hospital needs to be shut down. First visit to Fetch and could not be more pleased. We were told by our primary vet that our dog had a serious problem and probably would not survive more than another month and that the two most common treatments - surgery and chemotherapy - were not realistic options. We spent a week thinking our boy was terminal but we decided to get a second opinion and went to Fetch, which is a remarkably clean, bright and modern facility and met with Dr. Kim. He did some preliminary tests on Yogi and advised us that if his diagnosis indicated cancer that both surgery and chemo were very good options. He gave us his first impressions and described the process he wanted to follow for a more thorough examination. After a full ultrasound and examination, he spent a great deal of time explaining his findings and why he felt the previous diagnosis was incorrect - Yogi did not, in fact, have cancer. He is now his old self and the family is unbelievably happy and relieved. Doctor Kim is a rock star among vets and kudos to Fetch for bringing him in. All the staff here at fetch , were beyond incredible, they discussed plan A treat with meds running tests etc$1400 or more but in this circumstance it wouldn't have been in the dogs best interest. Plan B was the best decision for the dog so he wouldn't suffer. We have spent the last 5 years with our beloved chewy whom passed yesterday 6-26-24, due to bite would and chunks taken from his body by another dog, chewy was maltipoo and what got him was a German shepherd! Obviously we are filling charges and all that. But this will never bring our little dude back. They were very upfront and very very professional and caring towards us as the family and the pet. If you haven't met them before you need too. Even tho we expected to bring our little bud home , and then we didn't bring him home. I held my little guy in my arms as he passed away peacefully. Do not take your sick pet to Fetch. My husky became sick and started throwing up. I took him to my veterinarian and after X-rays and blood work I was advised to go to Fetch. The doctor at Fetch had no compassion period and only had putting my baby to sleep on her mind from the second she came into the room. NO COMPASSION, what's so ever!! My sweet baby was put to sleep and now I am second guessing my decision. I felt very pressured into doing it. That is not what a doctor should do!! Also, while in the room minutes before putting him to sleep, a worker walks in to go over the cremation process. Unbelievable!!!! I asked her if it could wait and she said no. So, I am sitting there crying uncontrollably over my baby being put to sleep and all they cared about was the MONEY!!! Again, NO COMPASSION at this place at all. She proceeded even though I didn't want to and made me go ahead and pay the bill. These people are heartless!! CHANGE YOUR PROCESS FETCH!!!!! She was not doing well at all and I was afraid I was going to lose her. I am an 82 yr old woman who made the mistake of saying I would hold a lost dog for folks who were supposedly turning it in at shelter. The entire staff from front of the house to the back of the house were incredibly thorough and communicative from start to finish. What I appreciated is that Fetch went over every detail of cost subtracted what I asked to be subtracted. Any emergency vet will be expensive...(FYI...Upstate & S.A.V.E.S. Is on average 5% increase on cost) and I appreciated that they were conscious of my budget. I highly recommend this privately owned state of the art facility. I can not say enough about how positive of an experience we had and how amazing everyone at fetch is. Dr. Lee, Dr. McDonald-Lynch and their entire team are absolutely amazing and made an incredibly hard situation so much easier for us and our dog. Our dog is family and when she was diagnosed with a very aggressive cancer right before her 3rd birthday we had a very short window to find an oncologist and surgeon. We were calling everywhere and some people said there was no hope and to enjoy our short time left with her. When we called fetch they took us that week. We met with Dr. Lee, he was amazing and took action right away and brought our case to Dr. McDonald-Lynch. Dr. McDonald-Lynch was happy to help us with a very major surgery and did an amazing job. She was able to get all of her cancer, which was in a very tricky spot. Their staff made our dog feel loved and right at home and we felt very relieved to know our dog was in their hands. They let her take her bear with her into surgery, wrapped her in a blanket (which she always is at home) and even sent me pictures and updates of her while she was in ICU. They update you the entire time, right before surgery, once they are out of surgery, and even once you take your dog home they call and check up and they are available 24/7 for you to call if you have questions or concerns. Knowing you have support the entire time and people who genuinely love and care about animals is so comforting, especially during such a hard time. Our dog was always happy to see the staff and would just follow them to the back. If it was not for fetch and their staff our dog wouldn't be here today, and now she gets the chance to live a long healthy and happy life! read more
