The zoo is quite big, but relaxed, beautifully landscaped and with a nice lay-out and walking route. On top of that we have seen multiple animals we had not seen before (and we have have been to many zoos). The lemurs were probably the highlight, but the giraffes, tigers and cheetah are also great. And for the smaller ones the goats and donkeys in the minifarm are excellent. A big surprise and well worth the over 4 hours we spent there.

The aquarium features some very interesting sharks, turtles and an amazing octopus. Compared to other aquariums it is too small - simply not enough to look at! We were approached by a photographer who offered to take pictures of the family in exhibition surroundings, with no obligations to buy. At the end of the tour we would then be able to choose from pictures on a computer display. I don't like the approach, where prices are never once mentioned. However, we were already planning on family photos, so we spent 10 minutes with the photographer. Good fun and she was good with kids in front of the lens. At the end of the tour, however, the pictures were not available for us to see. For a good quarter of an hour they kept saying 2 minutes. We then gave up and left. Annoying.

An aquarium on the outskirts of Saint Malo. It's not amazing, but will satisfy for a hour or so,…read moreespecially with children. The tanks are well-laid out and presented. The highlight is a polo-shaped tank with sharks and turtles (see pictures). Entrance fee is about 14 Euros so can be on the expensive side. And more if you decide to buy something from the gift shop which has both fish and Brittany-related merchandise.
