August: First time using a notary, Great first impression, horrible end result.
At first glance she is knowledgeable and helpful. I needed an affidavit notarized to be sent to the Secretary of State. The purpose was for it to be used in another country for my permit to be with my girlfriend and finally move in together since COVID restrictions finally eased(1.5 years of waiting) I told her the importance of this document.
In person she was kind, had to ask her a couple times to ensure a signature was accurately done. She assured me that it was completed without flaw.
Mailed it to the Secretary of State for validation and legalization.
September: Secretary of State rejected my request because my notary wrote her name where my name should have been. I'm already overseas and I cannot redo the notary as I have to be in person. I contacted Kirstin and received little help or remedy for this. She did apologize even if she was defensive, no reimbursement offered.
November: After losing 2 months, spending $250, working with the local municipality, my embassy and not being able to work because of her error I'm barely hanging on after remedying this mistake. Hoping my new document will make it to me in time before Thanksgiving as my visa will expire.
I lost a considerable amount of time and money because of this.
She is kind and intelligent, none of this is personal. It was based on a critical business error on her part. read more
