We went here for dinner because it was the only place open on a national holiday…read more The service was what you would expect in this region: we were treated like locals and felt very welcome. +1 The food wasn't spectacular. Not meat dishes didn't have much flavor in them. The Spätzle was alright though. -2 The restaurant itself isn't vey cozy, by appearance not temperature. The pop music didn't fit either. But maybe that's what they were going for. -1 I wouldn't eat here again. There are other places that came better recommended by our friends who live in Saalfenden. I'll try those if I come back.

The guesthouse is full of history, the real one. So much has been preserved from the previous generations.
