I arranged a friend to take it to his house and I set it up as it had been in the shop, within a few days the tank was losing major amounts of water, was advised to take the tank back and they would repair it I managed to do that and was told would be ready in 2-3 days and then they would phone me and arrange to deliver it back, which they did not, we waited and called the shop several times and was told they would call which they did not, we were then told by a member of staff that we had set the tank up wrong and it was our fault it was leaking, I have had tanks most of my life and set that tank up as it arrived and was set up in the shop so was spot on, eventually spoke to the owner and was told a new tank would be got for us and we would be called on Monday of last week and that the shop manager would bring the tank and set it up personally and to this date the 16th of Feb there has still been no call or any contact regarding this I am now totally disgusted and will be taking long runs on a bus to another supplier for anything I need in future I will never use this store again and urge others to take note of my problems and avoid the shop at all costs

In and out in minutes in a good way that is. More the 'I'll dash in to pick up [required item] on the way home opposed to the 'Oh my goodness - run for the door quick!'. The staff are really friendly and ultra helpful with a good knowledge of pet care, products and everything in-between (despite not actually having any pets in store). You'll also find loads of stock packed into a, relatively, small shop. Hence, if you wanted to you could easily spend a good while in here mulling over the high selves with everything from cat and dog baskets to guinea pig exercise toys. Erm, this is where I have to admit that me and the boy drunkenly bought a guinea pig together about nine months ago. Furthermore, it's only been within the past month that I've discovered guinea pig exercise toys exist - for 'fun, health, entertainment and exercise'. Therefore, this is the place where you'll find any pet related supplies you need - or think you need now that you know they exist. The staff are great, the prices and much better than anywhere else I've been and it would seem that they have the tastiest guinea pig food around. Oh, and they have an array of people's personal adverts for litters in the window/door way so you can always have a look over those if you're thinking about acquiring a new pet. You'll also find a good range of very decently priced hutches and cages.

The staff are also really helpful and will keep you right so you won't disappoint. If you've recently got a new critter then the people here are great for advice. Although they don't stock a lot of things for the reptile population they helped my old flatmate get the right materials for her baby corn snake, so whatever animal you have, they know what they're talking about. Even if you need something that they don't usually stock, they can sometimes order it in for you.

Even though this is on the small side, the space is managed well and it has a wide range of stock. Ranging from a good selection of animals themselves as well as all the food, treaties and paraphernalia you could ever require/seek to find. The few occasions in which I have been in the staff have always been friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. Since discussing pet shops with other people (and I have a friend or ten who currently own pets...), they have ALL been super positive about this shop too.

I popped in here the other week as my Telescopic Moor goldfish Herman Melville has a little white dot above his pop eyes. I was so worried and after searching on the internet the only diagnosis that I could find was that the white spot was a sign that he was very ill indeed. I panicked and decided to head into Pets at Home while I was in town to get their advice. The girl who helped me was very helpful and told me that they can get little white spots if they are in breeding season, it can also be a harmless discolouration or in worst case scenario a fishy illness known as White Spot which is what I'd been reading about from the scaremongers on the internet. She informed me that if it was the dreaded White Spot then it spreads like wildfire and within hours he would be covered with white spots, he only has one though. She told me to keep my eye on him but try not to worry but if more spots do appear I should head back to get treament for him. That was a few weeks ago and touch wood he seems to be okay. While I was there I decided to get him some treats to spruce his tank up a little bit. I bought him a rather nice potted seaweed and some extra coloured stones to add to the bottom of his tank. He loves them! Well... I think he does, he's quite a shy guy. A great pet shop, a huge abundance of goods for your pets and really friendly staff too!

I have always had a too few many pets, thankully now I have calmed down a bit. I do infact have a hamster which I got from this Pets At Home. When I was choosing him out, the people in the shop gave me all the useful hamstering hints and tips (even though I knew them, it was a nice touch). I love how massive the pets at home stores are with treats to spoil your dog, and scented wood shavings for your pets! Its a superstore, that you can take your dog into, when you are out a walk. Its a bit of a while away from me but my dog loves going in with me and choosing his treat for the day.
