Chad and HMC were the most reasonable bid for the scope of work and my wife and I could not be more pleased with the results! Demo took only a couple days, and (once the construction crew was assembled), construction took less than a week, including the new roof. The new dimensions are 14'x20', and it's a fantastic living space. My girls love being outside on it. And, to boot, I've gotten compliments not only from neighbors, but from two other contractors who have come to my place for unrelated jobs. Those pros complemented the quality construction, especially the double edging and the blocking under the support beams. Go with HMC and you will be so happy you did!

I don't know how the other positive reviews came about, because our experience with HMC Contracting…read morewas pretty bad. We had our enclosed patio redone... It took forever, and once we were in the process I couldn't wait till it was over. It felt like the Three Stooges were sent to do the work. The painting had to be redone several times -- their "team" clearly had no idea what they were doing. We had to have them rebuild the door at least twice, because the quality was truly subpar. Six months later, the door is already showing age (see photo). They were careless with the space (inside the patio, and in the surrounding garden). They never cleaned up after themselves. I had to entirely cut back one of the plants behind the patio because it was so badly broken. I'd find nails and debris around outside that I would have to throw away; they brought plastic, but barely covered our patio furniture (so I did that myself); and they broke one of our side tables. Attention to detail was absent -- I've attached photos of just SOME of the trim corners that do not match up -- there are gaps instead. Chad and his son Adam were nice enough, but we were paying for something that should've looked excellent in the end. It looks OKAY (if you don't really look at the details), and it was no fun getting there. I would absolutely suggest using a different contractor.

Mark Dolan responded promptly to my inquiry and gave me an estimate within a few days of my initial call. He was friendly and knowledgeable and, since his estimate was reasonable, we hired him for the job and were placed on his schedule within a week or two. His crew arrived on time and worked diligently throughout the day, almost completing the project in one day. They returned the following morning to finish up before lunch. They removed the old fence and took care of the disposal. What they installed was a 5 foot semi-private fence with two gates, one a single entry, the other a double gate for vehicle passage. After completion, the crew cleaned up quite thoroughly. This fence is much better quality than the one that preceded it, a world of difference. We could tell the old fence had been built by a novice, but it became starkly evident after our new fence was finished. The hinges and gate latches are examples of the superior quality and finish of this fence. It has now been two months since the fence was installed, and we still couldn't be any more pleased! Thanks, Mark, for a job well done!

After getting quotes from four different companies, Metropolitan Fence stood out immediately. Richy spent time asking detailed questions, whereas other companies just measured and left. Richy is completely hands-on. Metropolitan Fence doesn't just sell you a project and sub it out; Richy did the upfront measurements and was onsite working alongside his crew every single day. Whenever an installation question came up, he contacted me immediately with options, weighing the pros and cons of each.
