I am so impressed by this (truly) family owned company. The owner, Gene, was so easy to communicate with and takes pride in his work. His son, Brandon came with the rest of their team and was so kind, communicative, and hard working. They got an incredible amount of work done in such a short time and the fence is gorgeous! They were very flexible and listened to all of my concerns and questions, addressing them right away. It's almost impossible to find service like this nowadays! Getting our fence installed was a complete nightmare. The first day of install, Gene was not there and did not give his crew blueprints of the job. They put posts in the wrong spot several times, which they had to dig up and left the concrete discarded on the side of my property. They ran into problem after problem, they even hung my gate upside down and didn't notice until I pointed it out. Gene said we could use old posts, which if you look at the pictures was a horrible idea because it left a huge gap and made my fence staggered. Also, one door swings in and the other out because they shouldn't have used the old posts. Now look at the frame and hardware of the gate. Does any of that look square or right to you? He offered to paint them white to hide the obvious flaws. They even had mismatched bolts holding it together. I had to fight for a discount after all this trouble. It is clear he doesn't care about quality work and just wants to get paid. You should be embarrassed putting your name on work like this. Do not waste your time or money with this guy. read more

My yard has a fence from Dente Fence. I have a gate that is falling apart and have called and left messages to give me an estimate or let me know if they will replace it. I hsve never received a phone call or text or anything. This has been going on for 4 or 5 or 7 messages. No response. I am not asking for charity just plain commen sense. A phone call. This company installed a fence for us at a previous home. We have since moved and have a fence that dente did not install. I left a message that we need a fence repair and would like to add a new section of fence. Gene Dente called and came to my house. He saw the fence that had already been installed (not by him) and told us to call the fence company who installed. He had no interest in helping a previous customer with a small job. Guess we weren't worth his time. It was the most unprofessional encounter I have had in quite some time. I would never give him business again nor would I recommend anyone else to them at this point. read more

Gene got our fence installed fast with recommendations to save us money, for a beautiful finished result. Then they stood behind it! Seven years later we've had two circumstances from posts rotting (they shouldn't since they are pressure treated) or blown in heavy winds. Both times they came back and fixed the issues perfectly for free. They even asked if I had the stain on hand, which I did, so they painted it too. Total 5-star company! read more

This Gene character is a useless bastard of a business person. I called his company two days ago about repairs and replacements to several large sections of chain link and vinyl fencing damaged in the November 1st wind storm. I spoke to a very nice receptionist who took my number and said Gene would call me. I also advised that I was referred to Dente by my roofer who had done business with them. I am still waiting for this obvious loser Gene to call me about an estimate. Only an asshole ignores a service call that guarantees substantial payment by an insurance claim. Go elsewhere for your fencing needs rather than deal with this moron. Update: This Gene character never called me, but emailed my wife asserting that in 2012 we had him provide an estimate for a new section of fence to be installed and did not use him for the job. As a result he is now demanding that I pay him $75 to provide an estimate for my current needs. This man or his company was never contacted in 2012 to provide an estimate nor did he ever come to my home. His misplaced butt hurt feelings from a alleged prior snub make this loser even a bigger asshole than I originally stated. read more

This is a follow-up to my review of 9/28/2020......Dente Fencing arrived at my home on the day that they had arranged. They said that the job would take about 2 days. Their team was very gracious and even helped a widowed neighbor with some yardwork on her side of my fence by moving a 6' x 3' trellis that was against my old fence and some potted plants that were there too. They did that without any charge and as a courtesy to my elderly, cancer-ridden neighbor!!! The fencing was erected professionally and aligned perfectly with existing fences that they had delivered 5 years earlier. The match was so good that you would never know that the fences were 5 years different in age. They even straightened the old fence that was tilted from being hit by a car in my driveway three years earlier. Again, at no charge. The job was a little tougher than they expected and the job ran about 2 1/2 days. Again, no additional charge. Anyone who uses another fence company should be declared "legally stupid". This company has integrity AND humanity. I am sure that's why they have been in business with the same family ownership since 1973. I met the "next generation" and he cared even as much as Gene Dente, the patriarch of the family and original owner. read more

Called August 16th for an estimate. Said someone would get back the end of the week. No call. 9-1-2020 Called left detailed message. No call back. 9-9-2020 Called spoke to female explaining my Brother-In-Law recommended them, after replacing his fence. Woman said they are very busy and didn't know if they could do an estimate. Didn't seem to care when I told her they seemed to busy to care. Guess Covid 19 hasn't hurt them like other businesses. 3 other Fence company's that were very busy did find time to come and give an estimate. One of Dente's close competitors was up front and said his orders are 10 weeks out, but was grateful to do the estimate. Don't expect much from Dente. read more

I honestly can't believe this company is still in business. The owner Gene is extremely unprofessional and beyond rude. I called this company because the previous owners of our house used them to put up the fence and there is a part of the chain link that allows my dog to go under it into our neighbors. I was told they would be at my house around noon well the owner didn't call until almost 6pm, said "are you home?" Good come outside and meet me" Well that was an interesting way to speak to a new customer. He then made a comment about my driveway, my grass (saying it needed to be cut) asked why my pool wasn't open yet!?! I'm sorry but I called you to look at the crappy job you did with the fence you installed not to criticize my house/yard. What was the kicker is he says wow this an expensive fence you wouldn't want to replace it? It would cost double now. Since it was such an expensive fence you would think it would be done right! Needless to say he then sends me an outrageous estimate , which he said himself may not even fix the problem! I'll pass on that and I would suggest others to pass on this company too! read more

Negative 5 should be this companies rating. Gene Dente is a crook and ridiculously condescending. Called about a simple dog ear design 3 foot fence for a customer of mine. They waited until the credit card went thru and called to say the fence was ready. I went to pick up the 7 sections of fence and very dog ear top was cut differently. I immediately said this fence is horribly built when Gene started fast talking and handing me a bundle of extra pieces so I could fix the fence myself. I asked why should I be fixing a brand new fence and he ignored me. Before I left I told him I wasn't happy and when I got to homeowners house she also was unhappy. When she called Gene he said oh well the fence was custom built and he would be willing to fix 10 pickets. On one section alone which consists of 16 pickets there were at least 10 damaged pickets, on one 8' sections. The day continued to be ridiculous with Gene continuing to say the fence is custom made and he wasn't willing to do anything to address the situation. Eventually we brought the fencing back to his yard. Never in my 35 years in the landscaping field have I dealt with a company who didn't stand behind their product. DONT EVER USE THIS FENCING COMPANY. Use anyone else. Overpriced and inferior product. read more

I called 3 places for an estimate. The 1st came out and the estimate was high, even with the "repeat customer discount". The second wasn't interested when I said I was getting other estimates. Then Gene came a few days after I called. I wanted to make some changes to where the fence originally stood, enlarging several hundred feet. His estimate for the same type of aluminum fence was incredibly lower AND it is Made In America, stronger aluminum and the pickets are closer together so my dogs heads won't fit through! Plus I could finance half at no interest PLUS he had it in stock! No 6-8 week wait!!!! So then I changed my mind and asked about enlarging more and Gene came back the following day, gave me a new estimate (still so very much less) and offered to get rid of the wood the last contractor left lying in my yard. They had a cancellation for today and I grabbed it. Since my son was dropping his dogs off and I desperately need a fenced area Gene sent a large crew. They took the old fence down, put up the much larger new one and cleaned everything up by 2:00 this afternoon! It looks absolutely gorgeous! His guys were respectful and professional and I won't ever be using another fence company! Anything negative about negative reviews have to be from other fence companies because they just are not true! I would give more stars if it was possible! read more

I had a fence put in by Dente several years ago. I have a big property and the fence cost me 17 k. Dente was very happy to take my money, and very pleasant initially. The fence itself is a Quality Fence, the problem I have is with the gates which continued to break for no apparent reason. When I called him to fix the fence because it had a lifetime warranty. He made a bunch of excuses why the fence broke essentially blaming me for it's poor quality. The repairs were made and shortly after the fence broke again. This time when I called I was told basically that the doors cannot be open it's my fault, and not a design flaw. I would not recommend this place to anybody. Customer service is terrible. Gene Dente and his team are the most professional folks I've worked with in a very long time. They performed everything they said they were going to do, and then some. The contract was written beyond what I asked for, they showed up a little early, prepped the job and kicked butt throughout the day. If you're smiling and dialing for fence companies, dial a number for the last time and call Gene and his team. The foreman on the job (Juan) is unbelievable in terms of making sure the job is done properly, he asked questions when he wanted to make sure we agreed and delivered a fine product at the end of the day. They cleaned up my yard after the installation and I didn't find a screw, bracket, tools or what they had for lunch anywhere in my yard. These guys ROCK! Thank You for everything read more

If I could give zero stars I would. At first the woman we were dealing with was professional and informative but follow up calls were not prompt and then when I asked for a price quote I was told they didn't want to do business with me. What kind of professional business person says this to a customer? I can tell you my request was for something a little more custom (nothing crazy) but apparently out of their league. So instead of saying we can't help you they said they don't want to deal with me. I am a business owner myself and have dealt with difficult people and would never dream of saying this to anybody. Rude, lazy workers, inferior work, poor quality fencing. The workers do not speak English for the most part, are rude, disrespectful to your property, lazy and do far from quality work. My fencing had sections that were already starting to rot, pieces broken from workers throwing them and the fence posts were not all secure. Very unprofessional. They came to measure my property to fence off the backyard. Very easy job. I tried to contact them a few times about the estimate, i thought they would want the business. My husband and i are the nicest, understanding people and for some reason he declined to give me an estimate after i waited 3 weeks for him to get back to me regarding this. Declined to put a bid in after i waited a long time. They do not value customers or the success of their company. I am so happy this did not work out because we went with a great company and will refer them to others. read more
