When I called for a quote, I talked to Spence who helped me throughout the process and was sure he answered my and my wife's questions. He presented different quotes as requested without any fuss. The crew that showed up at my property to do the work were diligent, hardworking, and performed their job to the max. They removed my old 4.5' fence and installed a 6' fence with 6x6 posts, which is unusual if you look around, as I did as I was out and about around the area, I haven't seen anyone with 6x6 posts, all of them have 4x4 posts, which means that this fence is going to last a very long time in my opinion. Also, the cap and rails on the top of the fence are beefier than most of this style, (2x6). The word I use to describe this fence when I tell my friends about it is Diesel! When the inspector came out to look at it, he walked the fence and was done in about 2 mins, with no questions as I'm sure he was impressed with the quality. if you're shopping around for a fence, make sure you talk to Spencer and the folks at Heartwood Fence. Not only did I get a higher quality fence, it was at a price that was less than the competition.

His expertise and confidence was just what we needed for this project, with my husband on travel and me being pregnant, we weren't able to provide a lot of oversight, and Shon didn't take advantage of our situation, but instead stepped up and went above and beyond to finish the project quickly, and provide an excellent finished product. Shon and his crew worked diligently, and finished the project quickly. They also kept the worksite clean and safe, which was essential for us, with two toddlers running around... Shon even hauled off excess yard waste for me when I had baby early and wasn't able to be home! We will be rehiring Shon in the near future to design a custom enclosure for our trash barrels and perhaps even our ACs. I almost hate to post this update, but after being blown off for three months in 2021 by Billy and…read moreagain recently, I have to agree with the other frustrated posters who say he is difficult to get a hold of...and if you do, he may not actually keep his appointments. In 2021, I contacted him to replace the last of my wood fence with vinyl. For three months, he kept telling me he would come out and give me a quote and line up the work. I wasn't even going to get multiple quotes since I really liked his previous work. He never once let me know when he wasn't coming for a scheduled appointment. I eventually gave up on the replacement and went on to do other projects around my house. Now it's 2024 and I texted Billy again. He said he is still doing fence installs, so I asked him to come out. He stated he would come out last Friday at noon, so I agreed to work from home so we could look at the proposed work together. He didn't show up and didn't bother to let me know he wasn't coming. After reviewing our communications from 2021, it is clear he doesn't care about repeat customers.

We did receive other quotes and Matt's was the best for the option we chose. His crew showed up early every day and was polite and professional. They always cleaned up at the end of the day and were willing to answer any questions. Matt was there to check on the progress of the work every day. The crew did the demo in the old fence and put up over 200 feet of fence in a few days.
