A man named Glenn is the sweetest guy and was very helpful at check-in when my air bnb's reservation didn't work out last minute. If you're staying in Nelson, I'd highly recommend InnBetween! They also will store your luggage if you plan on going off into the parks etc.

The location was perfectly situated relative to the Abel Tasman trekking trail and to catch a boat ride in the Bay or grabbing a bite at a local restaurant. It's clear that she takes pride in her home and extensive garden. In fact, she specifically invited us to take a walk in the garden - which we did on several occasions. I would encourage anyone staying at Foxes not to miss the garden walk - it's truly a treat. In terms of hospitality, Margaret was top notch. Shorty after we arrived, she offered us a glass of wine (we opted for Pino Gris) while she went over the area map and gave us suggestions on the various restaurant options. On our first morning, we had an early wake-up to go on our Kayak and Trekking tour so Margaret arranged all of our delicious breakfast food in our room the night before - along with a chocolate treat beside our bed. On top of everything else, we had a lovely Port wine available to sip as a nightcap. Don't worry about packing huge beach towels if you are visiting the Mapua area, Margaret has those available too. In fact, we were very fortunate to have brought along the towels on our Kayaking tour. I can't recommend The Foxes B&B enough.

Upon arrival, Brian met us and welcomed us in, showing us around the lovely property - two separate bedrooms, a common area with kitchen, piano, TV, and sitting areas, and multiple outdoor areas overlooking the water, and one at the back for the sun. Our bedroom, the Magnolia Suite, overlooked the water and was beautiful. Comfortable bed, TV which we didn't use, large bathroom, free WiFi that is okay (nothing fast or amazing, but definitely good enough!). Breakfast each morning is incredible - a huge amount of food set up on a buffet, and then Anthea makes something special each morning. The first morning saw waffles, and the second saw eggs with salmon, both of which were fantastic. Each evening, they offer some snacks and wine, which really caps off the day, especially as you look out over the water from your location above. Really, Bellbird Lodge cannot be beat. It was our first ever stay at a B&B, and cannot complain about a single moment of it. You're so close to Kaiteriteri and Marahau, but tucked away, above, in the quiet, so it's easy to avoid the crowds. And the price? Steal of a century! Do come by - you won't regret a moment.

I was traveling with my husband and in-laws, and we were booked in their 2 bedroom plus private lounge suite - it was excellent. Each bedroom had its own attached bathroom, which was very convenient. The bathrooms were modern and clean, and the beds were comfortable and furnished with just the right items (e.g. 2 nightstands with their own lamps, one on each side of the bed; a mirror, etc.). Our private lounge was nice and cozy, with sofas, a TV, a lovely rocking chair, and coffee table. The lounge was stocked with bottled water, a kettle, a fridge, and a nice assortment of teas, which was great. Our hosts, Ian and Rebecca, were very warm, welcoming, friendly, and flexible. They did a wonderful job of making us feel welcome and comfortable in their home, which meant a lot to us. The home-cooked hot breakfast they provided was delicious - eggs, tomato, hash browns and bacon. They also served toast, cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, juice, and coffee. The homestay's location was convenient - it was near downtown Motueka and also a 20 minute drive to Kaiteriteri, our access point to Abel Tasman National Park. The property also had beautiful views from the back patio, which was accessible from our lounge. One feedback point - it would have been nice if shampoo, conditioner, and facial tissue were provided. Overall, this place was wonderful, and I highly recommend it!
