It's clear that she takes pride in her home and extensive garden. In fact, she specifically invited us to take a walk in the garden - which we did on several occasions. I would encourage anyone staying at Foxes not to miss the garden walk - it's truly a treat. In terms of hospitality, Margaret was top notch. Shorty after we arrived, she offered us a glass of wine (we opted for Pino Gris) while she went over the area map and gave us suggestions on the various restaurant options. On our first morning, we had an early wake-up to go on our Kayak and Trekking tour so Margaret arranged all of our delicious breakfast food in our room the night before - along with a chocolate treat beside our bed. On top of everything else, we had a lovely Port wine available to sip as a nightcap. Don't worry about packing huge beach towels if you are visiting the Mapua area, Margaret has those available too. In fact, we were very fortunate to have brought along the towels on our Kayaking tour. I can't recommend The Foxes B&B enough.

We had a room with a small patio with table/chairs and it was beautiful. We spent tons of time on the patio just enjoying the gardens. Janice and Mark are friendly and hospitable. Breakfast is a full spread of food including homemade muesli (which I couldn't get enough of in the mornings). In addition to amazing gardens, clean rooms, a BBQ and a spa, they also allow you to use their bikes to ride around the vineyards! We took two bikes and biked about 16km and visited a ton of area vineyards. We biked the whole way home but Mark would have picked us up if needed! Stay here! For real. You won't regret it. It's beautiful and cozy and quiet and close to so many vineyards!

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at Marlborough B&B just this past March for two nights…read more We stayed in the detached Adelaide's "barn" which turned out to be more spacious than our San Francisco loft. It's self catering which means that we had all the breakfast provisions we could ever dream of including fresh eggs, milk, yoghurt and bread. We had to do our own dishes but it was a small price to pay for the convenience of eating on our schedule. In terms of the location, the B&B is rural, about 15 minutes from downtown Blenheim. It's located on a quiet road next to a sheep farm. It's quite scenic. The barn itself has been wonderfully restored into a very modern living space. There is a washer so you'll be able to have some clean clothes after some time on the road. The bed is very charming and includes a mosquito net to keep the critters from bothering you while you sleep. Perhaps the highlight for my wife and I was the dinner platter prepared to perfection by proprietors Steve and Nanette Kirk. It's $65 and well worth the money. In fact, it's so much wonderful food, you'll have enough for a picnic lunch the next day. If you want to get a taste for the Marlborough countryside, make this charming B&B your wine country destination.
