This was a great little spot to car camp. There are rooms too (starting at $70), but we just used a…read morenon-powered site for only $20 nzd. There is a cute little kitchen with potable water, dish soap, microwave, tea kettles, cutting boards, and toaster ovens. There's a washer and drier ($4 each and soap available for $.50 in the office) as well as a clothes dry line. You can tell they really take care about the place, and there's a cute little garden where campers are welcome to use the fresh herbs. There's an above ground pool too. We didn't use that, but could be good for kids. The camp sites are pretty close to a road where you can hear cars but it wasn't too loud. We enjoyed it and ended up staying an extra night!

Here is a list of offenses she committed…read moretowards us. 1) We booked a kitchen cabin through i-site and paid $130 for it including $25 for linens. When we got there she handed US our linens to make our beds AND gave us a 2.5x2.5 m sg room with two bunk beds...not the kitchen cabin. 2) I spoke with the people who did get the kitchen cabin and they only paid $100...with linens! 3) When asked to get at least the $30 back she refused saying it was the fault of the isite. 4) She said that if we had booked through her then it would have been cheaper but it is not supposed to work that way. The business is supposed to absorb the cost the Istie takes for the booking, not the customer! So, she lied about that and how much they actually take. 5) She was so rude and inflexible and completely unprofessional in her handling of this booking. In addition to that... 6) The towels smelled moldy 7) The walls were so thin we could hear anyone having a conversation in an adjoining room. 8) The bunks did not have ladders. 9) The lamp beside our bed did not work. 10) We shared one bathroom with three other rooms All of this for merely $130!!! We got a 2 bedroom house in Christchurch for less!!! We had a toddler with us as well and she still wouldn't budge. Do not give this woman your business if you can avoid it. She is not an honest person nor does she have any integrity. Please spread the word.

Small compact but Dump Station a nightmare!…read more This small compact site is nice with clean facilities. However the dump station is a nightmare, sort of on a bridge between two areas, so small that people cannot even walk past to get to the showers and loo when a van is at the station! Then the vans have to reverse out as there is no turning place!
