I have a badly injured foot, and a torn ligament, so I needed help, and went to Feet First. I had treatment (wrappings with tape) by three different choropodists. Treatment quality was uneven, and I never knew who I'd be seeing.
I was booked in again today, and they informed me that they were going to be busy. I went yesterday afternoon to let them know that I'd like another taping today, as my ankle was/is still quite sore, and I thought one more taping to immobilize the foot would help. There was no issue with the receptionist for this request yesterday, and the woman who disagreed with me today was not in the clinic yesterday when I visited.
The chiropodist removed the tape on my foot, and then informed me that she didn't have time to tape my foot again. What was I supposed to do?? Lucky for me I'd brought along a brace to fit test.
But, seriously, why send an injured patient away? When I came out of the treatment room there was NOBODY waiting in the waiting room. The chiropodist could have taped my foot for me, is my point.
I expressed my displeasure when leaving, and the manager (??) informed me that "we never said that you could have a taping: we're busy". She wasn't there yesterday and shut me down when I informed her that I was told I could be accommodated. This is a private clinic, and people are paying out-of-pocket for treatment, so you'd think that clinic staff would listen to and try to accommodate paying patients. Guess not.
If I require further treatment I'm going to look for another clinic where there's only one or two people running the practice, rather than a collection of part-time therapists.
Seriously, who sends someone who's injured away? read more
