Before Dr. Kim, I have been receiving numerous counseling with many psychologists and psychiatrists for about 10 years. Also, I had practiced Dr. Burn's CBT checklists for many years. Bu, it was very discouraging when I experienced the same emotional difficulties under certain situations. Dr. Kim is a greatly attentive listener with empathy and sympathy, feels the same pain that I feel, and tries to understand my past deeper than anyone. That made me feel more important and valuable, and my self-esteem grew. I finally knew how to forgive my errors and shortcomings by understanding how my past had been affecting me. Now, I see myself with sympathy and can embrace myself and love myself. I learned that emotional growth and maturity may take lifelong, but knowing the possibility of improvement and experiencing progress in daily life gave me vigorous positive energy. I believe Dr. Kim is not only a psychologist but a great emotional healer. In every session, he made me feel refreshed and opened my eyes to see my greatness and not only to forgive myself but others. It changes my thought process profoundly. I agreed with him that every person has value, and we all have differences in characteristics with pros and cons. I believe that if anyone with self-doubt gets counseling with a psychologist like Dr. Kim, they may have a great chance to be free from the past and can reform their emotional inner person. There is no doubt that Dr. Roland Kim's big heart, knowledge, and counseling techniques and kindness will provide us with great protection and become resources in our homes and society. Thank you, Dr. Kim.

A warning to those who seek treatment here:…read more My roughly two year relationship with this company was abruptly concluded due to a DISTURBING lack of fact-checking. Just a mere two days before my appointment and monthly refill I am notified that they can not confirm any future appointments due to an insurance inconsistency. The EXACT same insurance that they accepted a year prior (BCBS PPO). Frankly, I find it deeply concerning that this practice would: accept me as a patient, confirm we are in network, allow me to receive care and prescribe me medication over two years to then abruptly deny service over email two days before your appointment. This is an EGREGIOUS oversight that harmed no one but me, the patient seeking help. I am now left to scramble to find a new provider to continue my treatment elsewhere after investing time and money with this company. Disappointed is an understatement, I wouldn't recommend. (The doctors were great by the way. The 1 star is to emphasize how greatly this administrative mistake has impacted my life, mental health, and ongoing care.)

I had to change my provider a few times before meeting Dr. Won. Other helpful things to keep in mind: Unless you are looking for Spravato or medication requiring blood pressure or other active monitoring, virtual consultations are possible. She has two office admins who are very quick to respond to emails, help with appointments, and prescriptions. If need be, they also speak Korean fluently. Spravato is offered for in person visits and a private room with a reclining chair as well as soft music is provided along with heart rate monitoring. Please note that their in-person office hours are before 4PM on weekdays.

We live in Koreatown, and my son suffers from addiction, Bipolar I disorder, depression, delusions,…read moreand severe suicidal impulses. He has been hospitalized multiple times in psychiatric facilities and has also completed a stay in a rehabilitation center. After finishing his rehab program and returning home, we searched for a nearby psychiatrist and found Dr. Won, whose office had good reviews and was within walking distance. However, when we contacted the office, the reception staff repeatedly told us that we needed to bring either a referral from my son's primary care physician or a letter from his insurance group confirming that, if the group declined payment, we could submit the claim directly to Health Net. My son is covered by Obama Health Net, and his assigned insurance group is Legal Group. To my understanding, psychiatric care does not require a referral from a primary care doctor. Nevertheless, because the office insisted, he contacted both the primary care physician and the insurance group. Both confirmed that Health Net does not require a referral for psychiatric care, nor do they issue any letter or document of the kind the office was requesting. He informed Dr. Won's office of this over the phone, but they showed no understanding or flexibility. They continued to insist on the same requirement and even went so far as to suggest that we change my son's primary care provider in order to obtain the form they wanted. They also said that if we were unable to get a referral but still wanted to see the doctor, we would have to pay $350 upfront, and that they would later reimburse us only if they successfully received payment from Health Net. Just one weeks ago, my son attempted suicide and continues to suffer from severe depression. Despite this difficulty, he made every effort to gather his strength, see his primary doctor, and call the insurance group as requested. It is deeply concerning that the staff at Dr. Won's office seemed unaware of the vulnerable state of the patient they were dealing with. Their focus appeared to be solely on avoiding any potential financial loss, rather than on the well-being of a patient struggling to stay alive. In the end, my son did everything he could to meet their demands, but due to their unreasonable and repeated requests, he ultimately gave up on seeing Dr. Won. After days, he could contact with another psychiatrist, whom he met today. The new psychiatrist did not require a referral -- which aligns with the standard procedure for psychiatric care. Although I have not met Dr. Won personally, it is difficult not to conclude that the reception staff's behavior reflects the overall attitude of the office. Here's the English translation in a clear and professional tone: Although Dr. Won is a young psychiatrist in the community and many patients seek her care -- with some likely benefiting from her treatment -- based on my own experience, it is very sad and distressing to feel that she views patients who are struggling mentally and desperately seeking help merely as a source of income.

He got an expensive lawyer and the judge agreed to let some strangers take me from my mom's home to try and put me in therapy to take my father back. In the sessions I had with Lynn she didn't listen to me at all. She didn't believe me when I told her the things that happened. Instead, she wanted to focus on making me let my father be part of my life again and "heal that part" of me. When I remained assertive for myself, Lynn got agitated. I read in the court documents later that she report I was rude, non-compliant, and would need more therapy. Before all that could happen my father was arrested for assaulting his girlfriend and the judge let me go back and live with my mom. I'm old enough now to live on my own, so hopefully I never have to meet this evil woman again.

Dr. Lynn Steinberg is a great therapist. When I decided I needed therapy, I called my health insurer and asked for a list of providers in the area. I selected a couple names and started calling. Dr. Steinberg wasn't the only doctor to return my call or to listen to me; to ask me thoughtful questions, or encouraged me to make an appointment. However, she was the only one who was flexible and willing to make every reasonable accommodation: finding and establishing the right appointment time for both of us; willing to take any and all insurance plans; open to the idea of a payment plan; willing to see if we worked well together before expecting me to make a commitment to exclusive therapy and responsive to voice mails left after hours and over holiday weekends. I got the feeling that she cared and could help me. I've never made a better decision in my life. Starting therapy and sticking with it when it got uncomfortable, has literally been a milestone in my life. I highly recommend her to anyone who is seeking counseling or support dealing with mental and emotional health issues.
